Its like Atlanta is trying to make up for their miserable season.
The loss doesn't hurt, its the way the Mets are playing thats the problem. At some point its gotta **** with their heads. You don't play this poorly going into the post season.

The Braves' offense was perfectly fine for the season, but they're pitching is what killed it. Only reason the offense looked so "bad" was because they didn't come through when their pitchers lost the lead for 'em.

You do if you're the Mets, apparently! Hope whoever plays these losers enjoys their first round bye.

omg gay. the Astros are back to their old ways of not scoring with a runner in scoring position and less than 2 outs

:(

Except for Giles stinking it up as a lead off hitter-their offense has been great, guys like Laroche has been an animal in the 2nd half.
You sorta wonder where they would be if Hampton were healthy and if Hudson weren't such a bust this year. Probably neck and neck with the Mets right now.

Next year will be interesting indeed.

I'm sure that if they should blaze through the post seaon youre probably gonna slit your rists too. Take it easy.

We've had our fair share of downtime too. When you had guys like Lima, Zambrano, and Julio pitching for you... We would be at over 100 wins if it weren't for those clowns. :lol

There's no chance of that with the corpse of Pedro Martinez "leading" your pitching staff into the postseason. I'm taking whoever the Mets are playing in 4 and I'm sure that I'll make hundreds of dollars off of it, which I'll waste on strippers, booze and gadgets.

If they had good relief pitchers and a solid closer at the start of the season, they'd probably have the wild card spot by a long shot. Their starting rotation might have been bad, but no where near as bad as the others.

Oh and the Braves hit over 200 dingers this year, which is something they don't do very much.

Giles is coming back and will be good for next year and if he isn't, at least the guy is one hell of a defensive player. I really wouldnt' care if he kept his averages in the mid 200's so long as he would be clutch at the right times.

Wow, the Stros just wont quit. Very impressive to tie the game there and keep their hopes alive.. big double by JD -- come on Russell!

You think they'll make a move for a big money pitcher, say a Jason Smidt?
I suppose they might be waiting around to see what Glavine does with his free agnecy. The guy would be a perfect fit to return for his 300th win. And as good as he is,I'm just tired of these inconsistent old farts lately. Not that they haven't prooven themselves, but when you see a group of old pitchers backing Wright,Reyes, and Milledge...well things could be better. Thats the way it is though, these guys have prooven they can win in the plyoffs, but along the way there is alot of baage to go with it. Pedro looks awful the last month.

Resigning Wickman was a good move,Smoltz too.
I don't doubt the Braves won't be back contending next year either.

haha Flash walked in Zimmerman to tie it up, woohoo! Come on uhh whoever's up next! Milton with the lead-off triple.. we gotta put him across. Do it Wilson.

****in pathetic atbat for Fick. Come on Kearns! Ethier has a chance to atone for his horrific last month or so here,

I don't really like Glavine, but it has to do with history in Atlanta. I actually think the starting rotation is solid all around, but their consistency is just not there. Chuck James is having a pretty good year and hopefully he will improve during the off season and Smoltz is Smoltz. Can't really say anything bad about that man. Not a huge fan of Hudson or Thompson, but they're not completely worthless.

The best part about next year is that the Braves will be out to prove something and have a completely new mentality. This year sort of ended the old Braves and a new era is being made with Francoeur, McCann, Renteria & LaRoache (LETS HOPE SO!!!) and Chipper is going to have some time to rest up.

Shame that the Nats couldnt win it, but maybe they'll do it in extra innings. Dodgers up 5-4 now.. come on NOMAH!

Ugh.. seriously Cordero. :\ 1st and 3rd for the Dodgers.. up to you Jeff. Blow it open buddy. Aww man, bring in the pinch runner and he gets gunned down at home. Sucks! Oh well, we'll take a 6-4 lead. :)

DAN WHEELER WTF. How could you not see that he was going? It was blatant to me. He had a huge lead and was leaning. What a shitty job of holding him on

Why anyone pitchs to him,I don't know.

There were runners on 1st and 2nd. You couldnt put the winning run at 2nd. You had to pitch to him

Base open,id take my chances with Spiezio.

Shit the Stros did it just an inning ago and facing worse batters than the God like Poopjuls.

edit- Cards win >_< we must win this or its over.
