When I got up 31-7 early in the 3rd quarter I started running HB Dives and Guts almost exclusively. I think I passed the ball 2-3 times in the 2nd half. You can see the evidence by my 41 running plays in the game. On that last drive, I was hiking it with 10-15 seconds on each play because I still wanted you to have a chance to get the ball back. I was still running HB Dives almost every play and you were doing a pretty damn good job gobbling them up. On that last drive, I got to the 5 yard line and ran three straight running plays up the middle. I think I was on the 3 and it was 4th down. You and stopped me for a loss or no gain three times in a row so I was just going to run it up the middle again, figuring you'd stop me again. Stupid Corso told me to kick a field goal, which is the true asshole thing to do at the end of a blowout, and with the lag I accidentally hit A too fast and picked the field goal, which is why I then called a timeout.

I'm not sure if you watch a lot of college football, but at least in the SEC they will NEVER kick field goals in blowouts if they are deep in enemy territory. They will just continue to run the ball up the middle, even on fourth down, and it will either result in a first down or a change of possession. I thought by running the ball I was doing the right thing. Kneeling the ball is just taking pity, which sucks, and going for 3 is even worse. The way you were stopping most of my dives and crashing the middle I was positive that you would stop me. If I really wanted to be an asshole and run up the score I would've been running options, running outside, and passing, but I didn't do any of that virtually the entire second half. I ended the game averaging 3.2 yards a rush and I wasn't driving to score. I'd already punted the ball once or twice in the 4th.

I'm really sorry if I offended you or pissed you off, but that was not my intention. I really thought I was doing the right thing. I would love to have feedback on what to do in that situation, and again, I truly apologize for pissing you off. That is the last thing that I want to do here because I've had a ton of fun playing my games so far and playing with this group.

Thats the one line that stands out to me. Kneeling the ball isnt pity, "running" to let your opponent get the ball back because you feel bad for him is pity. kneeling is just ending the game like it should be ended. i bet i can speak for many people that i rather have my opponent end the game with a QB Kneel than to keep on running it. Me getting the ball back with a minute left after its already a blow-out isnt on my mind on that point.

Also, you,as well as everyone should know, that on any given running play there is a chance to break one and get a TD. ESPECIALLY at the Goal line

My Advice, Next time your in that situation, just kneel the ball and end it. Its much better in every way.

Since its the first time, im not gonna do anything. im sure FMT isnt gonna make a huge deal out of it on this case. But im going to go ahead and reiterate his point

No Tolerance for running up the score. Ill say it again. NO TOLERANCE I dont care if you dont exactly mean it to happen that way. Do the Right thing and it wont be an issue

i was in a situation like this before but it was pretty obvious my opponent was trying to score late in a blowout. forgot what his excuse was but I wasnt calling time outs or anything. i just wanted the game to end.

in this situation mmlemay you could have missed the FG purposely or just kneeled until a change of posession.

I think the general rule of thumb is see if your opponent is calling time outs to try to stop the clock to get the ball back. if he is, then at that point everythings fair game. if hes not then take that as a hint that hes just letting the game end. if you have the ball and are just running simple run plays and hes not stopping you, get somewhere around his 30 yard line and start kneeling using up all the play clock.

I dont think there are any perfect solutions but I think if you know football youll make the right decision.

i blame myself for the running up of scores, and other rule breaking transgressions. i did not specify with enough authority that those things are not to happen in any circumstance. we are all friends again.

I understand what you were thinking, but running out the clock and letting the playclock run down before snapping is the proper thing to do when your opponent gives up in the 4th

Damn, awsome game with Cubanb. Defensive struggle on both sides. I managed a winning FG with no time left on the clock. He had the best D ive played yet, CRUSHED my running game. Tyrone moss averaged 2.2 YPC -_-. My longest run was 10 yards, and it was by my QB :lol

I would have to say the option is the easiest play to stop in the playbook... No matter what side.. And I'll leave it at that. But regardless I can't really comment but you're questioning my judgment to run the option so no matter what my opinion is biased. You played a great game as well but as far as NCAA goes anything that works near every time is considered cheese play, and since every time you steped out of the pocket and tossed it straight over the middle (at least 4 times in crucial long 3rd downs) you converted them all. I consider that cheese play because on two of them I was standing RIGHT there and the AI just won't let me have or the ball no matter how well timed A button was. I read them like a book and I couldn't stop them. Regardless though anything can be seen as cheese play in that game when using successful routes. There's just no such thing as a good play / good route really because the ones that are good I see as being the ones with a decent size completion rate, others see that as cheese. So regardless everyone cheeses to someone, we just try to keep in minimal

Eh I think the rules as far as cone etc should be established game by game basis... Example how you moved your Dline, that's fine by me so I moved my D line as well. If I would have known I wouldn't have required cone because it's personal preference to me. I think the advantage is 100% in favor of the cone but that's just me.

And yes mmlemay I would love to fill in any time after 2pm CST.
