Sunday, October 2

12:05 AM Boise State at Hawaii

I've bolded my personal games of the week.

I don't get your bolding of Penn State and Washington games. Granted, it's a weak week, but those two games aren't worthy of games of the week under any circumstances. They are both going to get absolutely spanked tomorrow. They are both plain bad teams. Penn State, I'll be stunned if they win more than one game this year, and that one(Illinois) will likely be another close one. And there's simply no way Washington competes with UCLA. Not a chance.

Penn State is already 4-0 and 1-0 in the Big Ten. So yeah, they'll probably win more than 1 game this year.... :)

One remaining game. They got lucky against one of the other miserable teams in the Big Ten, which is why I'm not even confident about Illinois.

They'd be the most deceiving undefeated team in the nation if Nebraska weren't also undefeated. But Nebraska at least may make a bowl game because the big 12 is horrible.

I bolded them cuz they could be surprisingly good games. Especially the Penn State one. And yes, Penn State WILL make a bowl game this year. Write it down.

boomer sooner!

Win or lose, I get to find out what this Alabama team is made of tomorrow afternoon when Florida comes to town. Should be a great game.

SEC
Florida at Alabama
South Carolina at Auburn
LSU at Mississippi State
Ole Miss at Tennessee
Middle Tennessee State at Vanderbilt
Arkansas - BYE
Georgia - BYE
Kentucky - BYE

I fukken hate Penn State.

No matter our respective records it seems like every year at the end of the schedule they just maul us without mercy.

Well Hopefully Mario Manningham will get even more looks this game because its pretty apparent so far that Steve Breaston is the most overrated player in the Big Ten. Also it would be nice if they learned how to tackle so Stanton doesnt tear them apart like he did last year before he got hurt.

almost 300 yds in the first half for him...

anyone else think that the UM/MSU game is going to end up being a pretty damn high scoring affair? Like a 52-41 type game?

It's really michigan vs STATE already?

I hadn't noticed. Interesting.

It's usually Halloween weekend, which only helps to add to the insanity here. Every single East Lansing police officer is on duty tmw. It's RIOT TIME!! :lol

Also,

SPARTY THE FUCK ON!!!

Gamecocks are at Auburn this week... can we figure out how to stop the run? TUNE IN TO FIND OUT

On a related note, congratulations to Tim Frisby, a 40-year-old sophomore and former Army ranger. He realized a dream by making the football team as a walk-on and catching his first career pass against Troy last week.

He picked up nine yards, too. :D

Alabama needs this win. To show that they are still viable. After this season, we're losing Croyle and a chunk of our Defense, so we could have a down year next year. Though, we finally can get a full set of incoming players without the sanctions.

I can take a loss, as long as it's not a blowout. But, we cannot lose to Tennessee. We've done that enough, it's time to draw the line. NO MORE.

Trying to give an unbiased opinion, I dont see you winning tomorrow. I do, however, see you beating Tennessee.

I'm looking for the big upset at the ASU, USC game this weekend. when you get right down to it the teams match up pretty well. It will come down to who can make more than 3 defenseive stops 'cause it's going to be an offensive explosion. Admittedly USC's defense is better but ASU is fired up for this game, they're thinking back to the 1996 Nebraska game and they're smelling upset.

I think Alabama will win. They're home. They've been playing very well. UF has some key injuries. All signs point to a W for Alabama. I think Alabama is favored to win by 3! :lol

Florida hasn't lost at Bama since the 1970s. :D Try harder next time. You would think 4 years of Urban Warfare would teach you something...

last 2 times the teams played=Bama wins.

Does that really matter? Not really, different coaches, all different players. So Location isn't THAT important.

I really hope UF wins, but I'm worried. But I'm then again I'm always worried :) Hopefully after the game ends I'll be happy, but I can see how this game could go either way. The UF O-line has to protect Leak, and that's where things could be a problem. Also I hope the special teams keep playing well (at least as well as they did in the UT game... don't need a blocked punt like in the UK game :-\). Hopefully Cornelius will continue to help out along with Jackson and Baker and won't fade from his stellar performance against UK. And I hope Wynn has a good game. The running game just hasn't been on track yet and while Bama isn't going to be an easy team to try to run against, I hope UF can grind out some much need yardage on the ground to keep the pressure off of Leak. So much could go right for UF (see 1st half of UK game) but then again so much could go wrong. Let's go Gators!!! :)

Pitt getting lit up by Rutgers..... :lol

God damn, Dave Wannstedt may be the worst football coach in the nation. This was a seven win team last year. This year, they're losing to Ohio of Ohio and Rutgers.

I want to speak with the Pitt AD and find out exactly how he thought it was a good idea to bring on Dave Wannstedt and Matt Cavanaugh to coach a talented pass oriented team.

There better fucking not be. I've seen too much of that shit here. People need to grow up and learn to celebrate (or grieve) in ways that don't involve destroying property.

I think we're referring to two different definitions of the word 'riot'. I'm using the police definition from last years Final 4 game, which basically was "Big group of people walking down the sidewalk? TEARGAS 'EM!!!"

Not the whole couch burning, car tipping shit of a few years ago. Although, that's what I love about Spartan fans. Closest thing to soccer hooligans that we have short of the Black Hole and Pistons fans. :)

Yes, well, last year was largely an overreaction, although there were still a few disturbances. Then again, the people who heard that such an overreaction was happening and then went out and got gassed get no sympathy from me, and word got around pretty damn quick.

The stuff in 2003 though, fucking ridiculous. That shouldn't happen again. People are so stupid.

I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of 'Bama fans on this board. Are any of y'all members at tiderinsider.com? If not I would highly recommend it at the very reasonable price of $36 a year or something. The message boards suck real bad, but the community around them is fantastic. Always make me shed a tear wishing I were back south when they start organizing big luncheons in Atlanta, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and sometimes even Memphis and Nashville.

Yeah, Pops has membership on TI.com. Lots of good info on the site, and their board might be more Acidic than this one ;)

Thanks for showing up, MSU :lol
lets be honest here... this game was damn close to being tied. it's by no means over, and if MSU decides to stop playing prevent defense for the entire game, they might even have a chance of getting the lead again hahaha.

I figure MSU will either win this and lose to OSU, or lose this and beat OSU. I don't see them winning or losing both games. But in the words of Lee Corso, "I think they got the wrong guy throwin' the ball! But I guess taht's why he's not the quarterback." with a quick herbie "Ohhehehe you're right coach!"

Michigan State needs to L2 their crowd.

Eat that you piece of shit ass SCum blowing "announcers"

Brent Musberger and Gary Danileson just fukken kill yourselves.

WOOO! Go Mountaineers!

*crickets*

I'm sure they'll get trounced anyway.

edit: stay away from this game, Konex. dammit they were winning their bowl game last season until you said something. *glares*

That looks to be another one of those "score at will" games.

Ugh. If this hits overtime I'm going to regress to bad memories of last year. I was at that fucking game and it was infuriating. The Michigan fans around me were all yelling for someone to break Stanton's arm, and then when the injury actually came, the fucking stadium erupted in cheers. Fucking scum.

Jonh L should have called to on 4th and 1. what a moron :lol

edit: then again, they'd have burned the last 1 they used
