Why do they have her sticking her tounge out like that?

Not that I mind. Its kind of sexy... in a mentally retarded kind of way.

Official: NDS gives girls gasping orgasms

You never heard the story about how ffdog smuggled out the GIA footage from Square's Millenium Event (FFIX, X, XI) ... in his pants??

Wow... that and a short-sleeve t-shirt for a December launch! What will he pull for the PSP launch?

"Overall, I think the weather combined with the effective preorder campaign kept most folks in bed for the morning."

... it wasn't that cold today!

It was clear sky and according to the weather forcast, somewhere between 12C and 16C.

Somehow I doubt that an extra week was really enough time to add in the Sleep Mode Activation.

It's interesting that it might be possible to enable it through a firmware flash. Is the DS the first Nintendo hardware with flashable firmware?

oh man, just wait til you have your first drunken pictochat sessions with more than 3 people. 9 people is nuts.

Can somebody post the full Japanese launch day game list plus prices?

Super Mario 64 DS
Sawaru Made in Wario
Pokemon Dash
Chokkan Hitofude
Daigasso! Band Brothers
Kenshui Tendo Dokuta
Kimi no Tame Nara Shineru
Mr. Driller Drill Spirits
The URBZ: Sims in the City
Zoo Keeper

guess I just need the prices now. Thanks gamescience!

Use your elite video editing skillz and solve this mystery once and for all - Is the Mario DS running at 30 or 60FPS (and if it's 30, why does everyone say it runs a lot smoother than Mario 64)

Have any of you guys tried out Pokemon Dash yet? If so, is it even remotely worthwhile?

I know it looks like complete ass, but a local import shop got it (and not Hitofude, Band Brothers, or any of the other Japanese launch games) and I've got DS fever to the point where I'll try almost anything. I'm actually considering picking it up.

we played 4 player band brothers last night, but i was too pissed to figure out what the hell was going on...

looks like i bought The Urbs whilst drunk meaning that i'm only missing Mahjong for the full launch line up.

Did Band Brothers come with headphones? And are they just regular headphones, or are they special using that extra port thing next to the earphone slot on the DS? In fact, what is that? It looks like the extra port used on portable music players for the remote.

i have no idea - i threw all my DS carts in my gaming bag this morning but didn't check out the bandbrother headphones. :(

will check tonight

Wario Ware impessions. Where are they. This is by far the most important game of the launch being that the GBA game is the greatest handheld game ever invented.

The original Wario Ware is one of my most favorite games (I'd say it was the best game of last year... was it last year?). But I'm not enjoying Sawaru Made in Wario all that much. The cinema scenes are long and not funny. The actualy mini games made me feel like I was doing less than I was doing in the previous Wario Ware titles (which wasn't that much in the first place). I've only played through four of the stages, so hopefully it will get better.

Earbuds, yes. Just regular old quite uncomfortable earbuds with a fairly short cable.

It does, but I'm definitely feeling you on the too-long cinemas.

So far, I agree. I don't dislike the game or anything, but it's nowhere near as fun or funny as the previous two Made in Warios were. I'm only about five or six stages in too, though, so we'll see what happens.

Some of the unlockable stuff is really weird and pointless, but I assume that's on purpose? I mean, WTF are you supposed to do with an oven timer besides look at it? They don't expect people to actually use their DS while cooking, do they? :)

the extra bit next to the headphones is for a headset (so a mic attachment)

I hope Sawaru is OK. Maybe the joke is wearing thin by the third game?

Innovation! Multi-purpose! News at Eleven: Nintendo DS can be used as an oven timer!

they need to make a tennis game where the speed, direction of your brush strokes determine the type of shot you make... or a football/ soccer game in a similar manner. (but tennis would be better suited because of the vertical split screen, but there's no reason why they can't make a top down football/ soccer game?!)

Ummm, it sold 230k but the total sales of the games don't even add up to that and a decent amount of people probably bought at least 2 games.

So we have a sizeable amount of people buying the DS but no games....?

So... anyone able to get their DS's to communicate durring 'PictoChat SleepMode'??? The power light should be blinking fast.

JESUS CHRIST! Will one of you just try it out?!?!!?! Go to PictoChat ----> Close the unit for sleep mode -----> see if the power light is blinking rapidly (communication)

Not hard.. and would help a lot of us to figure out if we'd like to go ahead and import a DS.

Thanx

This will help us confirm the whole 'wake from sleep' mode that wasn't in the NA units.

Hullo?

What is the major malfunction here?

"JESUS CHRIST! Will one of you just try it out?!?!!?! Go to PictoChat ----> Close the unit for sleep mode -----> see if the power light is blinking rapidly (communication)"

Done - the green communication light (?) is pulsing on and off. not sure whether this answers your question or not.

When i open up the unit again, it says "resume communication?"

I'll actually try a Picto session with the GF when she wakes up

Actually thats how the US model works too. we need a true 2 DS test.

.... Crapit .... That means it cuts off communication ... AKA: no "Spring To Life" function in Pictochat.

THANX NINTENDO!!

for it to still be in communication, the light would have to be blinking at the same rate as when it's opened.

I hope they fix this Firmware style soooon. Thanx tho :)

Er, I must ask this...

Did Nintendo mention that the DS has upgradeable firmware at some point? I've never heard this, but people keep whining about how Nintendo needs to do a firmware upgrade... which I didn't think was possible.
