2.0? Somebody explain! I'm still playing with the old 1.1. Anything new in 2.0? Anybody?....anyone? :)

I'm downloading it now from the UK PS store site. I'm 12% complete with me having it in the foreground and I have 4 other videos downloading and the lead one is 70% complete.

this is multitasking :lol

Wait, you're able to download multiple items at once?

Yes! You can queue up to 16 downloads across as many users set up on your PS3 that you have.

So if you have a NA, Japan, and UK PSN login then you can queue up to 16 downloads altogether and once. Now of course only one will download at a time. Now, from her you can choose to download one video in the foreground.

Oh course you won't be able to do anything but look at the TV screen but it's kinda neat that I'm downloading the GTHD 2.0 for Forcefeed back, while downloading/queuing 4 videos from the EU PSN site at the same time. I love it!

Can anyone confirm/deny that the 1.6 firmware is locking people out of various PS Stores?

I live in Australia but own a Japanese PS3. I've had no luck registering either my Visa or my Mastercard with my AU account. If anyone knows of a way around to register my card/s with the US store, please let me know. I want Tekken 5 damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!

so this is the situation in my small town in germany..

i went to the local video game stores ..
mediamarkt, Mueller and a small videogame shop..

they all had PS3s in stock.. i saw about 20 to 30 stacked up..
I sincerely never saw so many consoles in one place ever..

i dont know how much they got from sony though..

the wii was completely sold out day one and you couldnt find it till january.. (i bought mine for 330 euros on ebay) and i know that they had about 30 to 40 wiis on the local mediamarkt day one.

So basically if I buy a PS3 in Slovenia (small country, east of Italy, south of Austria), where the console is officialy sold and supported through Sony, I can't buy stuff on the PStore because my country is not on the list. I can't even make a 'fake' UK account and use my credit card as it happens to be the case with Xbox Live. Well, thank you, Sony. It's not like Slovenia is part of the EU, right? What the f*** is this shit?!

:D :D :D :D :D

Mine arrived Crazy Parcelforce guy had left it in IT dept for some reason!
Got it out, it's very heavy and VERY shiny!!
Can't wait to get home and switch it on!!

PS3 midnight launch in Manchester was as i said it would be; huge.

More than 100 people queuing and more than 300 machines pre-ordered (according to the sales assistants) :)

I just picked up a gameware hdmi cable. Any idea how long it is, i dont wanna open it cause they have a shit refund policy at game. Any ideas?

people often dont know where Slovenia is, but usually those people are not Slovenians.

Thanks guys, this totally wasn't a lapsus and I really don't know where I live.

Anyway, did anybody find a way to circumvent this little problem?

should have it printed on the box somewhere. If it doesn't and its not long enough, just take it back as 'not working' (because it doesn't reach)

Standard HDMI cables seem to be either 1.2 or 1.8m. The official Sony HDMI cable is 3m,which is pretty good

Thank you for that. I think i will return and get the official cable!

You'll be blown away. Seriously, this is one great machine. Verything about it screams quality right now.

XMB is very easy to use and navigate, multi-task etc. Jumping in and out of games is easy. Downloading from PlayStation Store is very fast (though, I think the store itself is pretty slow rignt now).

when i turned it on at first it went to 576p mode, then when i selected HDMI it chose 1080i as the main mode. In the settings I de-selected 1080i (even though my TV can run it) to get it to run in 720p which is crisper. Is there any way to let the PS3 know my TV supports 1080i without it using that as the XMB resolution?

obviously this is because of the border disputes with Croatia... until you solve them, no Sony store for you!

:lol

Nope, which is why we have been complaining for months.

there you go, wait seems to be worth of it now, eh?

Okay this is taking the piss now. Someone had to have bought Enchanted Arms right? How did the port go, does it have the same problems the Japanese version had?

Anyone care to test some PS2 games for compatability?

I tested FFXII and the FMV now are unwatchable (at least for me).

Awww, that's the other game i wanted to buy but I forgot I wanted to buy it when i went to pick my PS3 (must have been the people around me that went "what? You can buy a PS3 now? They have it? 599€ lol(not joking)" that made me forget).

downloads are very fast.. it took longer to install the update than download.

I tried MGS2 which was not on the b/c list and it didnt work.

What did it do, exactly?

OK, EB GAMES in Melbourne tried to make it "sound" as if they had "very few" PS3's left after asking if I had a preorder. Anyway, picked it up along with Motorstorm and VF5, asked the guy to throw in a free HDMI cable, which he did. I'm returning the VF5 though. Not what I expected.

bumped around my TV to various resolutions (576p, 576i, 1080i) with black screens before dumping me back into the XMB and saying the title is not supported yet.

So, you could smash your 360, get the free PS3, sell it, buy a 360 again and be in profit, adding to MS's sales figures. Awesome.

God of War, Bully and GTA: SA all appear to work for me. The last two apparently have noticeable issues but I haven't noticed them yet.

Forsete, those close up shots remind me, does the little PlayStation Family logo rotate like it does on the PS2? I always thought that was a cool little touch.

You can't be serious, the British have like INVENTED the queue...:lol

But the Americans invented camping days in advance for something they've already pre-ordered (or can see at the cinema the next day)

I knew my fellow eastern europeans would not dissapoint me...

It was for the first time that something like this has happened here. Never before were there official console launches in CR. Anyway, the whole event was held in a specialized Sony Store named Elvia-Pro in the centre of Prague. It was advertised in print and online media for a good half of March. In spite of this, my expectations regarding number of people willing to stand in line for several hours for PS3 weren't overly high. So, I was surprised to find out, that thirty minutes before midnight, the line was 15 - 20 meters long. According to Sony Czech, there were at least 130 people waiting for PS3 including some minor celebrities. After several hours, PS3 was sold out (there were only about 1000 PS3 for CR launch), which is true for all the Czech Republic. In the end, PS3 launch in CR was by my opinion fairly successful.

This might get lost in the thread (and didn't want to start a new one) but could we gather some European PSN IDs together for some Motorstorm/Resistance/RR7 goodness?

Mine is nofi but I've no idea how the friend thing works. Friendless, me.

got mine in Klagenfurt. Fantastic stuff, no problems with online connection, bought Resistance and Motorstorm. But eventhough Slovenia is on list, it is impossible to made Playstation Network account for our country. Solution - change it to UK, but this way is impossible to use any credit card @ Store.

PSN ID: DrMiha

You can sell it at a 'loss', though, and still make a profit. Undercut retail stores by 20 euros or so and you're still in the money. And with a fresh shiny X360 to boot!

My PSN ID is Rajala

I only got Motorstorm but I'm gonna order Resistance in a couple of days. You can play the american version of the game online on EU servers, right?
