In other news...
My friend got the EU PlayStation 3 today and I have to say that MotorStorm was a very pleasant surprise. Judging by the pre-release gameplay videos I thought it's nothing new and it looked like FlatOut but with wider tracks. But, after playing it, I noticed that yes it's nothing new in the racing genre, BUT it's a racing game that has the good old fun factor included and that's all that matters really. MotorStorm also has good gameplay and the feel and the controls of the various vehicles is just great. Crash, impact, ragdoll etc. physics were entertaining too. We ended up playing the game for hours since it has that "one more time!" feeling to it.
The graphics were also good, even with the 576i mode (no HDMI cable... yet). The lighting especially, and also the overall good eye-pleasing design and balanced look of the visuals made an impression on me. Shadow resolution of the vehicles and characters was low and texture resolution was also low in some places though. Can't wait to play MotorStorm again in 720p.
EDIT: Oh man... what a difference between 576i and 720p, it's like night vs. day (well, duh!).

Got mine today, with RFoM, Motorstorm and an additionnal controller (no USB cable coming with additionnal controllers. WTF Sony)
Done a bit of folding too, i like the interface, pretty cool. Stats are amazing. The Cell completely OWNS current PC CPU's.
DL'd GTHD too (i'm around 500-700KB/s, that's pretty nice), but played just like 5 minutes. Looks very good. Even tho i only got an LCD EDTV (up to 576p), hooked up with an HDMI to DVI cable.
Spent 5 hours playing co-op in RFOM with my GF xD. Awesome game, great job from the Insomniac team (well, as always)
What else. It's freaking HEAVY. It's freaking QUIET. It's freaking NOT warming and it's freaking SHINY !

Heheh, I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I just now checked the Friday Mainichi Issho episode. After Kuro tells Toro how much the PAL PS3 costs in yen, Toro's response is (paraphrased) "Eh?? Is it okay that it's so expensive??" :lol :lol :lol

I got my PS3 at 5.30pm yesterday. It was the second one sold at that particular shop all day.

I'm finding it very hard to not buy the PS3 right now (I'm used to buying consoles on launch - did that with the 360 and Wii) but I just want to wait till the first price drop. But I might fall for it this summer. Argh!

I am not yet wowed by the games, though they are solid (Resistance > PD0 for a launch game) but I love the machine. Plugged in my wireless mouse/keyboard combo and am typing now on my PS3. Plugged in USB HDD and it just works. No stupid 20GB HDD you cant even replace with something bigger yet. Put all my media files on external HDD and use the internal for game stuff.
btw. are there more game demos planned like VF5 or VT3 or stuff? Do we PALies have the same stuff on PSN as the rest of the world?

I'm falling in love with the Motorstorm demo, it's amazing! It's kind of like Burnout meets SSX in a rally environment. Which makes the game even more awesome. Gameplay and sensation of driving is fantastic. How does the demo compare to the full game?
In Motorstorm 2 they should add some snow environments.
