How long is Jericho going to be gone after Summerslam? It is going to be a lengthy absense right? I mean, 2-on-1 he couldn't beat Cena, how is that going to make someone buy the PPV for THAT match?

Edge got a pretty good ovation. I was worried that Matt might just come off as a guy that was such a whiny bitch that his girl got taken. This angle might totally backfire.

You know, usually I'm annoyed by Canadian fans' inappropriate and bizarre responses to wrestlers and events, but tonight it has been great. Mostly because it seems like the writing team finally started to figure out what Canadian fans do and do not cheer for and used it to their advantage.
I feel like if Bret Hart actually showed up, there would be rioting in the streets in Montreal. :lol

I liked how, during the Hulk Hogan match, the camera panned to show multiple people with Hulk tattoos. One guy had a Hollywood Hulk Hogan tattoo, which I guess is now horribly out of date. Another guy had a Hulk tattoo plus an Owen Hart rest in peace one.
I guess the people really do love their wrestling. And the Hulkster.

So what did you guys think about tonight's raw? I thought it was a very good raw. Great mic work, HBK especially. The crowd was great. The matches were ok (not great, but not bad, either. Maybe even a little above average). And the finish was AWESOME.

Tonight show was great, mostly on how they booked everything to make fun of Canadians. Of course with the return of Bret Hart, I guess they'll play that angle for a while and carry it once/if Hart comes back with an on-screen role.
But that Raw was HBK's triumphant return, really, this is how I badly wanted HBK since his heel turn. He talked about the return of the old-school HBK, and he delivered it.
And what a better place than Montreal to push your heel-meter to the max, his cards were fucking well played tonight.
I still can't believe that Sharpshooter ending. :lol

No Snitsky, Vis, Masters, Tomco or any other big/crap guy, the only time when I lost intrest was the first Diva Search segment(the second one was fine as I wanted to see who would win). Everything over the course of the two hours was kinda intresting but HBK stole the show. I feel sorry for the guys that said they could not go/missed the show at the start of the thread...

My freakin review:
MASSIVE MARK OUT for Bret's theme... and the crowd errupted like maniacs. HBK Destroyed the crowd with this.
I first thought that the hbkshooter was done after the cameras went off.. Angle went straight to Hogan and started kicking him when he was still in the hold.Then JBL batista Cena came out for the dark match... which was quite a bore... Hogan pinned JBL after the big boot and leg drop of doom.
But I'll say it again.... HBK, Montreal hates you and.... loves you at the same time.
I forgot to bring these signs:

"My grand ma has more teeth than Hogan has moves"
"Big Bossman ate my dog"

I'm watching right now the replay on TSN. It's one of the best Raw openings in a long time. If you missed it, I hope you can catch it on streaming on their website.
The matches were pretty forgettable though, I hope HHH, Dusty Rhodes, goddamn someone/anyone could change the WWE ring style cause it's too damn predictable. Face is dominating, then the heel is taking over, face is almost dead, sleeper hold for 3 mins, face is gaining momentum, gets taken down again by heel, sleeper hold, sleeper hold and then interference and/or sleeper hold and then finisher.
Bookerman, damn I wish I could make it to the show, really, fuck, now I can't miss the next one. There is no greater crowd than Montreal for wrestling.

It was an OK show...HBK saved it from not being watchable. The wrestling was passable, but definetly not above average as GaimeGuy says. I would say the matches were slightly below average. Every match on the show had no kind of excitment to it because you knew who was going to win each one. Kind of takes the fun out of wrestling.
God, how the hell can HBK carry Hogan to a passable match this Sunday? Hogan has done great things for the business, no doubt, but this match is at least ten years too late. This match would have been much more exciting during the Hollywood Hogan era. Hogan sucks BIG TIME in the ring these days. It's painful to watch.
