Official RSC2 League topic

Good season everyone. My fellow Dirt Devils came thru all during the season with timely runs that keep our team in it the whole season, with everyone on our team putting up a great score in the final round to put us on top.

Crap. Thought today was the last day to post times. Not that it would have helped my team all that much but I really hate missing rounds. Ah well, let me know when Season 2 is set to go.

We had 4th place locked up, but damn you fennec! You didn't race the last track.

CURSES!

I call shennanigans on this!

:p

I can't believe kbm got 1st place on every track! Good job man. If op_ivy wouldn't have bailed on his team, I think they might have taken us.

If you missed a race in Season 1, in my opinion, you should be banned from Season 2. It's that simple really.

What he said. And yes, I did miss the last one, but it was because I was boycotting my team since no one was racing anymore. Greg and I were alone the last couple rounds. Why even bother?

It's over, and the tourny is off of my profile's list...I can't check the standings :(

when you go to the rallisport section of your profile there should be a "Previous Competitions" link that will let you view the page for any competitions that have ended. once you click on one you should be able to view the standings.

Congratulations to Dirt Devils!

This was the most fun Ive had in an online league in quite some time. Just wish there hadnt been so many DNFs. at least it didnt keep the league from chugging along.

well, it had to do with 3 things, and one of them is tied to the other and thats my fault.

1. people have lives and have busy schedules. things come up and there is nothing you can do about that which leads to #2...

2. i shouldn't have made it a 3 day duration. 5 days is the perfect time there should be no excuses at that point

3. enthusiasm. some players saw that the best racers were bunched at the top, and said to themselves "ok why bother? we're going to get crushed anyways". that will be fixed in season 2 because we'll have pretty even teams

I apologize for going away to Vegas and having quite possibly one of the most insane weekends ever. Next time I'll stay home when I have a race coming up. Or not.

If Season 2 is going to be this anal, then I'm glad I didn't sign up.

robot should not be banned. He had a good reason and he helped us get 4th place at the very end. I stand by my comments.

robot, i'm not preventing anyone from getting in. no one is going to be anal. some people are upset their teammates didn't make times, but like i said that is my fault. 3 days just isn't long enough.

if you want in one season 2 you are surely welcomed

See, let's not get silly w/ the banning or whatever. At the end of the day, sometimes shit happens and this is all about being fun (and not so serious). At least, that was my impression of this "tournament". Granted, anyone missing 3 or 4 races of a 5 round tourney is wasting everyone's time, but as long it isn't commonplace, we shouldn't start penalizing ppl. Having bad teammates by any measure, whether they suck or don't race, should not be a reason to just throw in the towel, btw. Just do the best you can.

Or, you know, you could have just stayed out of the tourney in the first place, doing your teammates a favor.

Haha. Well, it does suck for the people/teammates who are really interested in competing. I almost missed a few times due to other factors though. Maybe we could increase the time in days between races? That has it's own down sides but I have plenty of games to play in the interim.

Also, don't be discouraged by great times, I'm nowhere near the top but I felt as though I really got better faster as the tournament went on. You really need to race a lot to get to know a track and where you can cut time.

If were going to be doing 5 day rounds (ugh)

Then lets get started ASAP because that means the season won't end for 25 days and some of us will not be available by mid-July ^^;;

25 days.......wow it sounds so bad when you say it like that :p

I really would have preferred it stay at 3 days but its all good I just hope the competition is as heated as it was in the first season.

I had alot of fun racing against everyone this season. It really made me race at the top of my abilities. I also agree with JediMike, Rolling Guy would have been the team to beat if they had the whole team posting scores all season, but it was still a great battle with Quadforce all season long that wasn't decided till the final hours of the last round. Good job to everyone on Dirt Devils, it was a great team effort all around that won the season for us.

I would also like to suggest having a tournament with everyone here so we can race against each other instead of just posting times. I may be good at time trials but I mess up in a race as much as anyone here I bet, and in a one on one race anything can happen. Just a suggestion as I wait on the next season to start. Btw has it been decided on how we are going to choose teams for the next season?

It has not been decided. Other than the 8 captains...

If anyone has an idea as to how we could determine the teams, please post it.

you should have the option in XSN to postpone a race , but by doing so you wouldn't be able to see scores until you have raced atleast once. This way if you missed the first rounds race, you'd be able to race it when you have time, and maybe follow up with the other rounds races at any time before the whole tournament ends... I mean if you think about it, we all had 15 days to put about 2 hours of gametime in, there really isn't an excuse not to have 2 hours in 15 days. however not having 15 mintues in 3 days sometimes can be understandable...

EDIT- ADDED-
As for determining teams- IMO :

take the top 8 players as team captains. The players ranked 9-16th from season one then get partnered as follows-

1-16 48
2-15 48
3-14 48
4-13 48
5-12 47
6-11 47
7-10 47
8-9 47

Now through the amazing power of math we do some adding. Pretend if you will that the top ranked player and those below him earn points in the same way you would for racing a round in the tournament. The 3rd number would be the total score for the first 2 teamates combined.

Now it gets a bit tricky, you do the same pairing with the lower 16 racers, careful to add them in such a way that you have the same thing as the top 16 players going on.

17-32 16
18-31 16
19-30 16
20-29 16
21-28 15
22-27 15
23-26 15
24-25 15

Now you'll notice that there are 2 teirs in both the upper and lower teams. What we do now is add the upper tear with 48 points to the lower tear with 15 points and the upper tear with 47 points to the lower tier with 16 points. In the end you have teams that all equal 63 points

I don't know any other way to do it . This method makes sence and theoretically should work ... Now the trouble is as far as I can tell you have to manually figure out your personal score and ranking by looking at every single standing.... and then figure out what to do the coulple people that are tied up.... If some has a list of the the over all standing based on every gamer rather then team you should be able to figure this out no problem.

Not to rehash this, but does anyone know how to leave feedback for other players after the season's over?

Dice's new engine for another Rallisport would have been amazing.
