Wow coming out june 1st already! Looking forward to this, because I've never played TR1 actually, only 2 & 3.

I'm going to wait until I hear more about the wii version before I purchase - if the wii version turns out crap, then I'll get the PS2 version. Either way I'm buying this bad boy. :D

Getting the PC version, I'll probably buy the accessory to use my 360 pad on it. If the game supports widescreen resolution, I think I may plug my PC into my projector... Really wish they had done a 360 version, though.

No 360 version must be a joke. They already have the engine ported and Legend didn't sell tha bad, did it? Plus, they already have high-res assets for PC version.

I want to play it, but on the 360. I really hope they'll do the easy port.

Have they started building/thinking/talking about a TR specifically for PS3 and 360 ? I assume it and even the 360 port for this are sufficiently far off that I'm going to want to get this for PS2. That's only a problem because my PS2 is kind of unreliable - it will only work for one powerpoint, and simply will not respond to any other source of electricity. Damned if I know why, and it makes me nervous to buy full-price games for it.

No, the PC version is based on PS2 assets. Legends on the PC offered a regular and "next-gen" mode with the latter appearing much like the 360 version. They used an entirely different set of assets and an enhanced lighting model. It was a pretty significant leap and I suppose they simply didn't feel like doing the extra work this time...

I'm replaying Legend right now, and enjoying it a good bit more than the first time. That's probably because the first time I played it on the PSP -- this time I'm playing on the PS2 using a 27" LCD HDTV. The difference is pretty striking, and I've all but given up on PSP version of Anniversary.

It's a shame really. I'd've liked to have seen what Core would have come up with in their PSP-centric version of this game. I like the idea of optimizing for one platform, and the PSP needs more attention like that.

i know think of getting it on ps2 instead of wii....upscale FTW
This is my thought.

I was considering the PC version, but the 360 analog triggers do not map as buttons with TR Legend on the PC (tested the demo) and likely won't work here either (as they are map as another axis). I wish they'd release a PC demo of this new game, though, so I could properly test it and determine which version I should play.

The PC version would basically be less convenient, but if the difference is worthwhile, I'd do it.

this thread needs way more info.

what version is the screenshots, what are the reccommended system requirements, what does it look like on the PS2/Wii comparisons
what are the wii controls?

The screenshots are from the PC version, but the other versions should look similar (in a lower resolution).

There are no Wii shots available at this time, but I think it's safe to assume that it will look very much like the PS2 version. The PC version is simply a higher resolution version of the PS2 game, so I can't imagine anything would change on the Wii.

There are no articles explaining the Wii controls yet either.

-PC shots.
-Looks exactly like this but jagged up. Wii version will have rainbow lighting and lower res textures but the wagly-wagloo will be fun fun fun.

Just buy it. It will be awesome

Windows demo is due today.

I'm so excited about this. I absolutely can't wait! The intro music is absolutely beautiful, I was concerned that they wouldn't capture the beautiful nature of the music from TR1.

I wonder if they plan to remake any of the other TR's. It would be really interesting to see.

I guess i'll be getting the PS 2 version since i don't have a wii. And this will be my first game since i don't any TR installments.

I hope this will be good.

If you really really aren't at ease you might want ot rent Legends. You'd have an idea of the controls and graphic quality at least with that.

I've just finished the demo and it's really great! It also runs perfectly at the best settings on my PC :D
Now I really have to make up my mind about picking up the PC version or the PS2 version, maybe both!:lol :lol :)

Shame about no 360 or "next gen" assets, but I'm still gonna grab this for PC. I'll crank up the AA and anisotropic to insane levels to compensate a bit.

This is looking great and I really loved Legends. Wii version for me since my PS2 controller cords don't reach all the way to my couch...

Wait wait WAIT.... there's no 360 version?!? WTF. I just always assumed there was. 360 or bust, dammit. :(

Great thread.

I'll be getting both the PC and PS2 versions. I'm getting the PC version just for nostalgia sake since Tomb Raider was the first truly impressive 3D game I ever played. My mind was blown from playing the original on PC, plus I'm expecting some Nude Raider patches too. I'll be getting the PS2 version so I can play it on my HDTV upscaled to 1080i via the PS3 & HDMI.

PC Demo Located Here!

Alright, does anyone have ANY idea if you can configure the triggers (Z-axis) on the 360 pad to act as buttons?! I really like the demo, but I can't play it the way I'd like to.

a rebirth of the franchise. The originals will always remain classics. The new Lara really needed this, Crystal Dynamics and Toby Gard are wise to take the series back to it's roots.

Demo was alot of fun. I would buy it in an instant if it was on 360. Otherwise I think I'll wait till the fall when I build a new computer.

I've started to love the Tomb Raider franchise again since Legends.

Can't wait for this one. Thank God it will be released soon.

I played the demo for PC today, it recognised my wired 360 pad immediately and the controls are identically mapped as on TR:Legend.

I took a few shots at 1024x768 with all effects on and 4xAA too (ran at a smooth 60fps all the time on my PC):

(for more shots, fill in the "imageX.jpg" number anywhere between 2 and 10 for the rest of my shots, it looks pretty good for a PS2>PC port)
