I think it may be a different version of Ricky Bobby than the Blu-Ray release on 12/12. This is the cover of the actual retail release:

Just the barebones version it looks like. No way they are going to give the uncut version away, a month before it hits retail.

I was flipping through the pictures fine, the only issue is that my monitor doesn't support a high enough res to see the pics. Its fricken huge (seems to support 1080 screens)

Maybe you can copy it to a thumbdrive or your PSP and run it that way? Hopefully the PS3 does Online Updates straight to the system. That seems to be for people without Online access or something (like how the 360 does updates to people without online access)
 
From what i remember reading/hearing, you can update the PS3's firmware directly online or if it's saved on some other media. So i'd assume you could download that file to a memory stick or USB flash drive and it would work.

Not sure about the full XMB but this snippet was given by GoFreak a few pages back

+ The web browser can open up to 6 pages simultaneously. 64MB memory is always reserved for the browser, the instant messenger and other XMB OS activity even while in game.

if you'll notice i specifically quoted the separate download. I saw and understood there was a direct update, i was just curious how the separate download would work.

You can hold the PS button to bring up a menu to alter some system and controller options (particularly for BC titles), but you need to exit the game to go to the XMB at the moment. They tried it with RR7 on On The Spot last week.
 
I posted this in another thread but ThreeSpeech has confirmed that 'the rest of the world' will be able to book their online name on Nov 17, the same day as the machine launch in the US.

Well have no fear, we’ve been informed by PlayStation that when the PS3 launches in the US on 17th November, the rest of the world will be able to register their usernames online at the PlayStation Store via your PC.

Nice, you have any ideas of how the run things down there? Me and some friends were thinking of starting to wait in the afternoon wed (i have a midterm for accounting that morning). But if people start lining up earlier we'd be down to start monday or tuesday.. how would people in line be with someone who needs to leave for a few hours and then come back..? will have a group of four or five of us... :D

They only allowed people to start lining up late night (around 11:00 or so) the night before the PS2 launch.

So like Wednesday at 11:00pm may be the earliest they (and SF PD) allows.

The PS2 launch was total chaos. It was nice and organzied outside, but as soon as they opened the doors all the ****tard gangster-looking assnuts who DIDN'T spend 18-24 hours outside in the rain waiting rushed the line and cut infront of everyone right at the entrance to the PS store, and the Metreon didn't do jack shit. There were people who spent 15 hours in line and walked out without a system thanks to the Metreon not kicking out the line jumpers.
 
WOW Awesome stuff to see all around. I'm offically jealous. Can NOT wait to open mine up and start screwing with it : ) It's going to be a whole day of upgrading, putting in a new drive, finally hooking up all my stereo stuff.


Hey is Full auto 2 a JP paunch game? I think i'm owned; GS is now teeling me its coming out december 13. :( its been launch listed for Day one for 4 months and there has been no announcement what so ever : (
