Tell me about it.
I have two 80gb SATA 7200 RPM 2.5 drives installed in my laptop (which I received in December of 2004, so you can imagine how expensive they were back then) and those things played a role in the $3000 price tag. >_< Thankfully, the machine still kicks ass for even the latest games.

So, should I really care about 7200? I mean i didn;t know anything about it until yesterday. I would to get the best one possible, but its really ups the price. Big question, will it make ps3 preloading and installing faster? I saw a 120gig 2.5 for 99 bux by toshiba on the newegg site. Its pretty good, and if 7200 doesn;t matter SO much Ill likely get that and have massive DL room : )

This topic is crawling along at less than a page a day! Where is the PS3 hype? There are five Wii threads, for cryin' out loud! Where are the PS3-heads? (Maybe they're camping out?! Or maybe they're too grown-up for hyping?!)

Honestly, just not enough people here are getting them. You should check out the BestBuy preorder thread. When everybody thought they were actually going to get one, WOW. That thread had more hype than all the ps3 threads put together so far.perryfarrell said:

You wanna why there is little hype about PS3 in this thread? It's because it doesn't seem real that the PlayStation 3 is nearly here.

Im hyped about the system and games, but I'm hyping alot about the little things. I can't wait to slap in a 120 drive into my core system at launch; check out the psp conectivity; see what stuff comes up with Linux; downloading psone games;
I think all the stuff you don't see on the BestBuy 3x5 card will be what makes me really happy with my purchase.

As well they should be playing GoW, its freaking crazy. I can't remember the last time i felt bloodlust playing a game : ) Now if all the 360 people could just have their own badass games and leave it at that : )

heh I actually found a bluetooth headset outside a bar a month or so ago. My phone sucks so i didn't think i could use it and turned it in. Heard about ps3 bluetooth a few days later. I still have a ps2 headset, but its a massive clunker. Unconfortable as hell.Guileless said:

I'm entirely excited more about finding out everything the PS3 can do then the games right now though. The games that are appealing to me aren't even coming out for another couple months (Heavenly Sword, Assassins Creed). I am going to get Marvel Ultimate Alliance though and I may rent Resistance just to play some games online to try it out. I really want to try out the Blu-ray though and all the other computer related stuff and media.

So for those of us getting a PS3 at launch, what games do you all plan on picking up with the system, aside from Resistance? I'm split on a lot of them, since the other two games that I want the most in '06 (Fight Night and Rainbow Six Vegas) are coming out in December. I assume game #2 should be RR7, but I'm not a huge fan of racing games (though Motorstorm = ). And with Genji and Tony Hawk being gimped... it feels like the task falls to Marvel Ultimate Alliance and possibly NBA 2K7.

OK since my boyfriend has found out about the PS3 shortage, we're snagging 4 at launch from 4 different walmart/best buy/circuit cities (he's paying my cousins $100 a piece to sit in line) so I should have one paid for by the resale profits.
