Tried IGN's experiment with the Sixaxis into the laptop, and same deal: it recognizes it as a PS3 Controller (with 19 buttons somehow) but the Sixaxis refuses to initialize (the four red LEDs simply flash and you can't use it).

Why genji of all things? i might get genji 2 after it goes down to 20 bucks.

I'm curious about a LOT of things with imports in Europe - particularly the online stuff. I've a horrible feeling that'll be totally locked to your region i.e. that you won't be able to buy stuff or perhaps even play online using a japanese/us machine in europe.
Some people here, like BlimBlim and no doubt some others, should be getting their PS3s shortly I'd imagine. Hopefully we'll get some insight into these matters.

As for the Playstation Store, I can't find out yet, because it's forcing me to install an update. Either the update is huge or Sony's servers are really slow. If it's using all my bandwidth, this thing is at least 100MB.
ncsx confirms that the US Activision games work with the import PS3.

I'm still not sold on that it's really completely region free. If EA's games are, then that'll sell me on it. If anyones going to lock out games it'd be them.

How does the PS3 render it's games ? In 720p or 1080p and then scales that to the output resolution ?
Or if you select 720p or even NTSC, will it render them in 720p or NTSC ?
I hear Tony Hawk has a bad frame rate, how runs the game in NTSC mode ? Smooth ? Like when you lower the resolution in a pc-game ? Or still laggy, because it renders in 720p no matter what ?
