Agreed. And also right now, demo or not, Motorstorm is the best game available on the PS3. I am definitely picking this up in a few weeks, and may be buying it again if the online is done well in the U.S. release. Too much fun!

DC, don't forget about Armored Core 4 either...assuming it has online play, it might surpass Chromehounds for you!

Hmmm... I played the demo at Target and... I think we must've been playing different games or something. Well, the Pendulum style D&B soundtrack was *AWESOME* and vastly preferable than the redneck rock in Excite Truck... but the graphics looked very unpolished (I think I saw pixellation on some of the textures... maybe I just have been spoiled by Gears...), and damn does the PS3 controller feel like a cheap 3rd party one (Sony still hasn't improved their analog stick, I see).

Motorstorm looks effin' awesome... I played the demo the other day at Best Buy and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that would stop and stare at it... I'd imagine in the final version you can remap the buttons (gas/brake to triggers)...

Hopefully there's a good online component to it... like full voice support... oh, which reminds me...

How big are the demos ?

I live in a country where internet is blazingly fast (10 megabit for basic service), yet it's pretty restricted as to how much you can do with it. There's a limit of 10GB allowed to download per month.
It helps to reduce piracy, but honest users who want to download demos and HD-trailers are getting shafted.

So:

1) how big are the demos ?

2) can you download them with a PC and put the file on a memory card or USB HDD ?

3) can you burn updates or demos on cd or dvd ?

The first 500 000 get a Ricky Bobby BD. Doesn't matter if you buy a 20 or 60 gig.

Right, but I don't have 5.1, and I can't get it either because the house I live in is a) my parents' house and b) terraced with thin walls, so I'm not allowed to have loud speakers and woofers and stuff like that. So I'd need a way to use the regular stereo audio.

i have a motorola BT headset and just got my PS3. I'll see if I can try it out later tonight. Is it something that'll only work in Resistance or other online game?

BTW, it is *100%* safe to plug into 240V directly, right? can't help but be nervous.

Also, how do you find the MAC address of the PS3? I need that to allow access to my network which has MAC filtering. Couldn't see it on the unit anywhere.

If you want to be 100% sure you will have to disassemble your PS3 and inspect the power supply chassis manually. However, so far it appears that all PS3 powersupplies are multivoltage (i.e. everyone who's tried it has had no problems).

Target demo kiosks are terribly calibrated. The screen is blowing out so much detail. Trying to judge any games visuals fairly on that setup is not going to end well.

Great pics that you were able to find! A couple of things: 1) Blast factor on sale for $7.99, save $2 dollars! Pretty sneaky by Sony there. 2) 3rd parties are going to have content up on day 1 too, I hope? 3) I hope they have some Kobe24 and Kaz Hirai avatars!

Just saw the new PS3 commercial. It's the same white room that all the other commercials take place in but the black puddles start to come out fo the walls and spread up them which forms into videos of the games. It includes Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Lair, RR7 ect. Has the same intro sound as the PS2 commercials but the PS3 outro logo sound is different.

wow. that was by far and wide one of the most miserable nights in my life.

35 degrees in a tent on the hard ground with just a blanket and hood from my sweatshirt. not cool.

i had gotten "asleep" by 2am but then some jackasses came by and circled around the parking lot to work up courage to blast an airhorn right by us. it woke everyone up and they sped off. cool and hilarious(/sarcasm), but at least it wasn't eggs or paintballs.

i got to sleep about an hour from 4-5, but couldn't hold the sleep and just got out and sat in a chair and tried to sleep there. being more cold in the chair than in the tent i went back in the tent and slept from about 6-8. my feet were freezing when i woke up.

now i am sitting here in a chair waiting for the store to open so i can go in for the warmth.

about 4 or 5 people came by overnight that were turned away, and within the last 30 minutes we have turned 5 away and about 10-15 cars have drove by, looked, and drove off.

23 hours to go.
