Aaron Rodgers hates the 49ers more.
:lol :lol Who the fuck is he kidding? In the Houston game there was a breakdown in the OL and a few drops by the WRs, but most of those were fucking late or over their heads. And not to mention how shitty he's been the rest of the year. What games is he watching?Tom Cable said:"With better games from his receivers, Russell would have been the talk of the league."
If you understand football, if hes getting better protection yesterday youd see what Im talking about. He was on target all but really two throws
I read McFadden is missing next week's game. What about Miller?Rorschach said:I was giving Tom Cable the benefit of the doubt that he wanted JRuss out of there, but couldn't pull the trigger because of Davis. Guess he doesn't even deserve that:

McFadden is out, but it doesn't matter. Not like they use him. And since Gallery's been out, the line has been atrocious. Miller is in, our RT is out, McFadden is out, Gallery is out, Schilens is day to day, Barnes is day to day.Striker said:I read McFadden is missing next week's game. What about Miller?
I hope Eli is good to go, which he should.

I want to see us beat the crap out of those stinking Jets. Their fans are getting so cocky, its just like last year, you wont do shit. You are the Jets.
What? :lol I don't believe you were watching the same game as everyone else.Sigh, Favre ballwashing continues, after getting outplayed by the guy that replaced him.
[Author Jon] Krakauer said he'd been given access by Tillman's widow, Marie, to the diaries Tillman kept as a civilian and soldier. And Krakauer told McGrath, "What really blew me away was that the journals made it so obvious how miserable he was in the military. And that he turned down a chance to get out after two years and join the Seattle Seahawks. I would have been out of there so fast."
My first reaction: Wow. My second reaction: How true could that have been, with Tillman having a year remaining on his three-year commitment to the Army?
"There's real validity to it,'' said his former coach with the Cardinals, Dave McGinnis, now on the Titans staff.
Ferguson, now a scout with the Colts, told me, "Pat actually called me. He was just back from his first deployment, and he definitely wanted to play football. I told him, 'Pat, you know you'll always have a job with me, wherever I am.''
Frank Bauer, Tillman's agent, recalls a conversation he had with Ferguson in the fall of 2003. "He said to me, 'Frank, we have great interest in Pat. If he can get an early discharge, we'd love to have him,' '' Bauer told me. "When I told Pat, he said to me, 'I'll look into it. Let me think about it.''
Tillman thought about it. He'd have had to seek a release from the Army one year before his scheduled date in May 2005. But he called Bauer four days later, said he decided not to seek an early out, even though he'd become disillusioned with the country's intent in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Instead, he asked Bauer when he'd be needed for NFL free agency in 2005. Bauer told him early in 2005, soon after the Super Bowl. That was fine with Tillman.
"Pat said, 'I'll just serve out this next tour in Afghanistan, come back, get [assigned to a base] back here, where I'll be able to get a cake job, and work out and train so I'll be in the right shape when free agency comes around,' '' Bauer recalled Tillman telling him.
"That was the last conversation we ever had," Bauer said.
FOXBOROUGH - Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said yesterday he planned to submit film to the NFL office in New York of what he believes were questionable calls in the Ravens 27-21 loss to the Patriots Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

PITTSBURGH If referees wanted, they could call holding on every play in any NFL game.
And, according to Steelers inside linebacker James Farrior, the NFL turns a blind eye to countless holding infractions because this league is about scoring points. So theyll try to do whatever they can to put more points on the board.
Maybe that explains why outside James Harrison is sackless after two games.
At least thats the theory the Steelers adhere to.
Harrison averaged a sack per game as the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year. Not only hasnt he put down a quarterback this season, hes only had one QB hurry.
From all indications, he is no different than the menacing pass rusher he was a year ago.
So, maybe game-day officials are not calling holding penalties on the men blocking Harrison which has been Michael Roos, the Titans left tackle, and Orlando Pace, the Bears left tackle.
Neither Roos nor Pace were penalized when they played the Steelers.
It can be argued that Harrison didnt play well against Roos, who played in last years Pro Bowl, or Pace, an aging 13-year veteran who played in seven straight Pro Bowls from 1999-2005.
The Steelers disagree, especially in regards to Sundays 17-14 loss in Chicago.
Because he fears that the NFL will fine him for criticizing referees, Harrison chose not to directly address the officiating in the first two games. But he did say that he was probably held eight to nine times in Chicago.
Andre Frazier, a backup linebacker, counted five instances in which he believed Pace held Harrison on Sunday.
Its every week James Harrison is getting held, outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley said. Its not like its not obvious. Its in clear view. Hes just not getting the calls.
Heres how I look at it. Heres a guy who was NFL Defensive Player of the Year last year with 16 sacks, and he doesnt have any sacks. Somethings going on. I think the league has to take a closer look at that.
The league is doing just that because the Steelers have sent videotape to Mike Pereira, the NFLs Vice President for Officiating, to support the case.
Harrison, Farrior and Woodley, however, dont believe the league will instruct officials to keep a closer eye on the tackles blocking Harrison.
Slo said:Before reading all the posts, here's my thoughts.
- The officials loved them some purple. 1 penalty for 5 yards all game, and several drive sustaining penalties on the Package. :lol
- Whenever the Vikings blitzed, we had Packers running absolutely UNCOVERED through our secondary. WTF. We won't beat decent teams like that.
- Aaron Rodgers is the real deal. If he were in San Fran, the 49ers would be 4-0 and favorites to win the NFC.
- The Packer's OLine is a mess.
- Whoever's idea it was to take a probowl DE and turn him into a substandard linebacker should be fired immediately. :lol :lol Aaron Kampmann KILLS us every year, and you've got him backpedaling into the secondary instead of embarrassing our rookie RT!
- After 2 seasons of disappointment, Sidney Rice is starting to blossom.
- Good job by the Packers D committing to stopping Adrian. Hopefully after we've proven that we can move the ball through the air, we'll have fewer teams trying to stack the line and stop him.
- I still don't trust Favre. Every time he throws the ball I expect it to be picked.
eznark said:Agree with all of this. Offensive line is pathetic and while the 3-4 may be good in the long run, it's made Kampmann completely and utterly mediocre. He doesn't like the 3-4 and he plays like it. The dude needs to be traded in the offseason, hopefully teams will remember his dominance as a DE.
Woodson was in the paper politely bitching about Capers play calling. Again, 100% agree. How the Packers didn't get a single sack is beyond me. We were rushing three and the Queens were able to get wide open in the first half. Why not adjust in the second half and bring some God damn pressure from the edge? I know the safeties suck but is leaving them out there for 7.4 seconds really better than leaving them on an island?
If Aaron Rodgers had a mediocre offensive line he would be a top 5 QB. If he had a good offensive line he would be Drew Brees. The Packers skill players (outside of the safeties and RB) and elite. Finley is showing himself to be an insanely good draft pick and everyone knows how good Driver and Jennings are. Despite the absurd pressure last night Aaron Rodgers played excellently. One poor throw all night, pretty much. There wasn't a whole hell of a lot he could do on the fumble, and the safety he was trying to make a play down two scores knowing his defense was playing like shit.
All in all it wasn't as thoroughly a discouraging performance as I felt it was last night. No one expected the Packers to win, least of all me, and after getting thoroughly dominated the Packers were right there.
Weird how no one (I assume, since I'm not turning on ESPN ever and NFLN til Friday) is talking about how huge that Donald Lee dropped touchdown turned out to be.
I figured they probably would have, hence the disclaimer, but thanks. They do generally do an excellent job but I just can't handle the Favre rim jobs this week.levious said:NFLN did eznark...

Also, while my bitching about officials did go overboard, I will say that the precipitous decline in officiating the last three to four years has been obvious and incredible. Generally the Packers deserve the insane amount of flags they get. The shitty line has to hold and the physical corners are bound to draw a flag or two since the rules are built for the offense, however the first half last night was atrocious. Watching the Ravens game on Sunday was even worse. Niners - Vikings game? Pathetic. My point is that I will not be the least bit surprised, or wonder how it happened, when the Vikings and Patriots meet in the Super Bowl.
I no longer blame Bob Kraft though. Goodell is taking notes from David Stern on this one.
Aaron Rodgers hates the 49ers more.

It's funny the guy I'm going up against is stacked with Arizona players. If the Houston D fails I'm going to get creamed.
That's a good point, actually. Better picture, more angles and a more precise slo-mo make finding mistakes a ton easier.dskillzhtown said:Officiating has always been like this. The game is too fast and too many calls are "judgement calls". Look at some of those classic games and look at how much stuff went un-called or had phantom calls. I don't think officiating is any worse now, we just have 5 camera angles and super slo-mo of each play to document it better.
Mrbob said:Also, the way Gruden was talking about Favre last night was nauseating. Get a room and go fuck you two. It was so bad it almost made me want to see the packers win.
I'm looking forward to the second half of the season when Favre falls apart and Minnesota no longer remembers how to run the football.Mrbob said::lol
I couldn't believe he said that as passionately as he did!
Those end year Favre stats are slightly twisted too....he has had to play the Bears D many times at year end and our D can normaly get about 4 picks a game off of him! I'm glad he is in Minny, all day destroys our team and now with Favre runnning the show he'll definitely give the Bears a better chance to win!
We also play the vikings week 11 and week 15 I believe, so Favre will definitely be prime for the picking!

Why? He seems like an ideal owner. Rich as hell, a public figure to advocate for the team, and he has a passion for football. Whatever his politics are he'd be a pretty great owner, assuming he'd be willing to pump in cash and pimp the team all the time.teruterubozu said:Ugh, if Rush Limbaugh buys the Rams I'll burn all my gear (not that I haven't wanted to these past seasons already..)

Yeah, it doesn't always work out. Herb Kohl is a God awful owner despite being in a similar position.NomarTyme said:No thanks.
... better than Eli!Following the final incomplete pass to end the Cowboys hopes, a video caught on KDFW Fox-4 shows Romo seemingly telling his linemen to line back up. He then flashes three fingers to one of the game officials.
After hearing the response, Romo screams and walks off field. If true, Romo apparently forgot about the spike to stop the clock on second down.

I know there are a lot of Pitt fans (or maybe its just a loud Bionic) so step to the plate and let me know about the defense/Polamalu.

Kohl is the only reason Milwaukee still has an NBA team. And it wasn't that long ago that the Bucks were in the ECF.eznark said:Yeah, it doesn't always work out. Herb Kohl is a God awful owner despite being in a similar position.
The Frankman said:Remember when Romo threw twice to Sam Hurd with Champ Bailey covering him? Well apparently people (I think in Dallas?) are saying there is video evidence that points out that Romo thought it was 3rd down and completely forgot about the spike. I'm looking for the vid, but apparently Romo puts up 3 fingers (indicating 3rd down).
harSon said:Our run defense is great, it's defending the pass/rushing the passer we're having problems with, and I doubt Polamalu comes back this week but it's certainly possible.

Play is over, watch him look confused, try and get the O-line to line up, goto a official, then finally walk off the field.
