Official XBox Live Arcade game request/wish list thread

Shogmaster

Sloppy seconds
I know there is an official XBLA thread, but I wanted to make an offical thread for making request/wish to developers and publishers that owns IP that suits XBLA perfectly but hasn't made plans/announcements yet.

OK, I start with my personal fav:

Deathtank by Lobotomy (I don't know who owns this IP now that Lobotomy is gone): Done up nice and all particled up a la Geometry Wars and in 720p, 12 player max via combination of Live! and local controllers (so either 4 players on one X360 or 12 players on Live! or any combination such as 12 players on 3 seperate X360s connected via Live!).

Who's next?

Oooooo Ooooo what an awesome topic!!!! Here I'll go first:

1)Super Puzzle Fighter II LIKE A MUTHAFUCKA!!!

2)ALL CAPCOM BEAT'EM UPS!!! Especially D&D:SoM, Final Fight, Alien vs Predator, and the Punisher

3)All 2D SNK Fighters and other classics such as Metal Slug III, Senguku III, Shock Troopers II, Top Hunter, Cyber Lip, Pulstar, Blazing Star, Baseball Stars I&II, Magical Drop III, Magician Lord redone with a new two player mode(hot sex on a platter!)

4)Mortal Kombat I, II & UMKIII

5)Ms Pac-Man....completely redone....not in 3D or anything, but add in some new two player co-op modes, like to Ms. Pac-mans at once and whoever eats the most dots while avoiding the ghosts, win!

6)Sega....not a whole not needs to be said here. OutRunners, Golden Axe, Power Drift, Turbo OutRun, After Burner, basically all the nobrainer stuff, only redone in hi-res and with online multiplayer of course.

Just gimmie these six things for a start, I PROMISE YOU I'LL DIE A HAPPY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOMEONE GET THE GUYS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR XBOX LIVE ARCADE AND MAKE READ THIS THREAD!!!!

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo by Capcom:

I would like it to include online play, saving and downloading of replays, and finally some form of tournament mode.

People being able to play fighters they loved from their childhood on XBLA, will help revive the feeling of taking on someone new or skilled back in the golden age of Arcades.

I own Street Fighter Anniversary Collection but I think the mix of all the SF2 games might have put some people off, and with SSF2T being on XBLA the cost could be reduced where it would attract a bigger audience.

The list could go on with fighters but I think people get the idea. :)

01) Any number of 2D fighters from Capcom/SNK
02) TMNT arcade 1 & 2
03) Final Fight
04) Wolfenstein 3D
05) Ultimate Doom + Doom II
06) Mutant League Football series
07) Road Rash series (3DO?)
08) Streets of Rage series
09) Shadowrun Genesis
10) Golden Axe series
11) Killer Instinct Arcade
12) Mortal Kombat 2 arcade

I said it in another thread but I want:

Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Online with multiplayer

I'd also love:

Road Rash 2
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Puzzle Fighter
Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2 (MSX versions)

Why couldn't Sega put Daytona USA on Xbox Live Arcade surely it wouldn't be that hard. If Sega feels they can't sell a stand alone game on shelves surely this would be a good option. Damn I'd buy it!

Worms 2D, Bomberman, and as you said, Death Tank.

I don't think 12 players would really work with DT, though. HDTV is optional, and I think the seven player limit of DT Zwei is just about the most that would be reasonable for SDTV.

As far as the IP goes, a clone should be fine. Sega cloned it, but didn't finish the game.

Speaking of Sega, Chu Chu Rocket is a no-brainer. Battlewheels (Lynx) would be some hot shit.

Some more:

Chip's Challenge
Miner 2049er
Boulderdash
Motoroader
(or some other top-down combat racer)
The Atari Games arcade version of Tetris (not gonna happen)
Puyo Puyo

Shit, I would love that.

Anyway, for me:

Konami's arcade TMNT and X-Men beat em ups, and Capcom's Punisher and AvP arcade beat em ups, and (don't remember who made it) the Avengers arcade beat em up. All online.

Also, Sega's genesis library.

4 player Quartet plzthx.

Any arcade game designed to be played co-operatively really.

Rodland, Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Island, Smash TV, Snow Brothers, etc.

Isn't Smash TV already on the confirmed list>

Been listed before, but I want to see:

Worms 2D
Bomberman

Also, I'd love to see the Dreamcast online games including:

Chu Chu Rocket
Alien Front Online
Ooga Booga

And I would stab a kitten in the eye with a sharp stick for Virtua Fighter 2. I'm not kidding!

<3 <3 <3 YES YES YES

Also, is it true that there's no Texas hold'em game at launch? This is such a no-brainer...I thought I saw a mock up for an XBLA version before...

Yes, Worms armageddon port would rock and Hi-ten Bomberman port would be a natural. And I think SD players will be fine playing Death Tank with 720p widescreen players if you just take the 720p version and supersample it down to 640x360 with letterboxing. Is that considered 2xFSAA or 4xFSAA? I could never remember....

I want the english version of Policenauts published through this. It was pretty much finished but pulled at the last minute. Seriously how much could it cost Konami to set this up as a downloadable purchase.

Also I wouldn't mind seeing the DC version of Rez made available and Cosmic Smash.

I really don't think companies are looking at the Xbox arcade thing seriously though they can put so much stuff out there and practically make money for nothing.

I need all those videogame journalists and industry people that reside on this forum to really start to focus on this and confront companies about their involvement to get awesome content on there.

One more thing Capcom and Sega could publish all of their Arcade games OK THNX BYE!!

I just think putting twelve tanks on the screen at once is too much. You'll either be on top of each other, or the tanks will be too small to see on a crappy screen. They could have done twelve tanks on the Saturn version, but chose to only do seven. I think seven plays very well, you get just enough breathing room but it's still pure chaos.

Pac-Man Vs. - Why bother with connectivity when you've got Xbox Live? :D (But...if Namco co-developed this with Nintendo then it may be a no-go, huh?)

16:9 playing field my friend, 16:9. That makes all the difference, and Supersampling would take care of things being too small (besides, you just need to see the aiming trajectory cursor well).

If 12 tanks worked great, they could have done it on the Saturn. Your 'letterboxed' version on an SDTV is just shorter, not wider, and wouldn't be able to display any more information than the Saturn itself could.

Anyhow, it's all moot. We probably aren't getting the game, and if we do, I'll choose the best hosting options. :D

I'd happily take the game any way I can get it.

Run n Gun 2. It's not currently supported by MAME so make it fuckin happen Konami!!!! *shakes fist*

Tetra Master for the reasons I stated in the other thread...

Various Boardgames (Monopoly, scrabble, Battleship, etc) would go well with the service too.

Oh and the standard Capcom/SNK 2D fighters requests.

Deathtank/Scorched Earth/whatever would be the easiest $10 I ever spent in my life.

Worms would be a good second choice.

Bomberman with highly customizable game settings, so we can turn off fucking animals and shit.

Magical Drop III Plus Wonderful would be great.
