What the hell is going on with XBLA?! Wild.

It might be coincidental, but there seems to be some sort of correlation between XBLA improving and the loss of the old management, or maybe enough games finally got completed to actually have a consistent release stream.

Just trying to turn that frown upside down. hahaha.

Eets looks awesome, Ill probably be picking that up depending on the demo. Im not a big pinball fan so I will probably pass on that one. XBLA has been kicking some for the past 2-3 months.

Looks like I'll be picking up Eets and demoing pinball. The initial reviews of Pinball aren't exactly glowing. Shame too, because I would love a pinball game that can give Devil's Crush a run for its money with next-gen graphics. The screens of Pinball look awesome.

Honestly, I don't think they'd have done it without you.

Yeah it was all pretty much me. You all have me to thank. I take paypal donations. :lol

I haven't bought a single XBLA title since the 'surge' but I'm impressed and happy for the folks that downloaded and bought the games. Good job MS!

Forget Pinball people, Eets is where it's at. It's Lemmings meets The Incredible Machine and is pure awesome in every way.

Basically in Eets your goal is to get the main character (the titular Eets) from where he starts to the exit. You don't directly control him, he wanders around much like a Lemming. The difference is that his emotional state determines how he reacts to certain situations. If he's scared he will shy away from ledges, if he's angry he'll charge around and leap over gaps and so on. You can change his emotional state with various items you plant on the map. In addition to that you plant various contraptions on the level that can launch him, block him and whatnot.

So yea, Lemmings meets the Incredible Machine.

Another double-dip this week - nice!

XBLA has been on a steamroll run these past months, and it's great to see the annoying complaining that used to happen in this thread stop for quite sometime now...

Gonna go watch those vids now, since Schafer just said that it's part-The Incredible Machine, a game I grew up on and loved to death!

And the actual Incredible Machine is coming to XBLA sometime this year, too. I'm taking off work that day, no kiddin'. Me and the Machine are good pals from way back.

wow, XBLA must have close to 100 games now? Quite impressive library..

*waiting for catan*

eets seems to be developed by same people who did cloning clyde and outpost kaloki? I loved both of those, have to check that one out too.

56 after this week. With the 3 games a week Arne has guaranteed for the rest of the year, we should get there pretty fast.

Oh, TIM, how I long to fondle your rubbery bands and bouncing basketballs, to bend your pipes and tubes.

I'm just imagining how much money they're going to suck out of me with all the DLC "Part Packs". Think they'll be cool enough to allow downloadable user-built puzzles?

Okay, so now that there's been two twos in a row, now that Arne has confirmed that the Honeymoon is nowhere near over, I figured it couldn't hurt to try and consolidate all the stuff that is confirmed (or strongly hinted) to be in the pipeline.

Magic The Gathering
Catan
Undertow
Super Puzzle Fighter HD
Street Fighter II HD Remix
Chess
Battlestar Galactica
Sensible World Of Soccer
Band Of Bugs
Butterfly Garden
Double Dragon
Every Extend Extra Extreme
Hoopworld
Incredible Machine
Mad Tracks
Mutant Storm Empire
Space Giraffe
Street Tracer
Castle Crashers
Carcassone
Alhambra

ETA:
Ikaruga
Bomberman
Gripshift

There's always a chance that some stuff won't see the light of day, but it's well established that Ikaruga, Bomberman, and Gripshift are in one form of development or other.

I'd love to pay 10 bucks per table for accurate simulations of pinball classics like Funhouse, Addams Family, etc.
Maybe the dev of Pinball FX can cut a deal with whoever's publishing the Pinball Hall of Fame games, as well as Gottlieb and Williams, to get that stuff on XBLA. :D

Good to see MS kicking some ass in this department finally.

I really want a decent pinball game on the 360 - hopefully Pinball FX won't be to Eets what Gyruss was to minigolf.

what if... it happens? what then? then expectations are at 4? ugh.
Correct. Two games/week is now the standard; a one-game week is the new "Uno Theme Deck/Texas Hold'Em Patch" week. Choose wisely.

As for Pinball, it looks a lot like the Empire PC pinball games from about 5-6 years ago; however, for one table, those games were really, really solid. Should I not expect that level of quality from this game, or is it actually a good deal if you like the "real" pinball experience vs the Alien/Devils Crush, MS Pinball experience?

damn you 2007 best year in gaming EVER!

Wow . . . nice to see another week of two games!

Of course the release of Gyruss was a pretty weak entry. That's an arcade game from the era when I was big into arcades . . . and I don't even remember it. When I fired up the demo, I just went . . . "Hey . . . this is 'They Crawled From Uranus' from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas!"

I'm psyched about the prospect of pinball . . . I hope it is good!

Wow great news indeed. Well done XBLA team. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that there isn't a classic arcade game this week. I love my oldies.

I fear for Hoopworld. It fell off the face of the earth. I longed for it more than any other XBLA game. I tell myself that it's gone forever. This way it will be a pleasant surprise if it ever shows up.

Well, I wouldn't say 'confirmed'. But my interpretation of some of Mario's comments are that it's certainly 'on the table', and I'd be surprised if no development work has been done. But like I said, any of these games might not see the light of day.

And maybe my interpretation is completely wrong.

I'm really liking this 2 XBLA games a week thing. It's about time it happened.

I already own eets for the PC so I don't think I'm going to re-purchase the thing for the 360 but who knows. I might break down and pick it up regardless. Really fun game, especially if you're a fan of The Incredible Machine or Lemmings.
