Bubble Bobble, please. I know there's a Wiiware version coming, but I want one for XBLA and, more specifically, XBL (where my friends are).

This is correct.

Though I'm partial to Bubble Symphony/Memories myself. Mainly since the level design is a bit more accessible(and thus easier to score huge on).

I'm going to a friend tonight and we will have 4 controllers ready. For local co-op Castle Crashers is totally worth it right?

No impressions from this week's releases?
Just got done playing the Age of Booty trial for an hour or two. Kinda surprised how fun it was once you get to co-operate (and compete) with communicative people. I'm not sure if I would buy it yet, but it's definitely above average.

Tried the demo of Crazy Mouse, was not fun for me at all.

Age of Booty seems rather neat though, just bought it and I'm gonna play it some more. There's one thing which Age of Booty does which no other X-Box game has done which I know of... there is no ranked match! That's something all XBLA games should do in my opinion (many retail games as well), the multiplayer population just isn't big enough to divide it into two.

On that note, anybody planning on picking up the new N+ Level Pack?

N+ packs are the best deal around, 250 levels for 200 points, you can't beat that.

Isn't this latest level pack free, who wouldn't pick it up?

Ok... doesn't play well. Not for me anyway.

It certainly looks nice and has some sharp 2D visuals - but what's up with those annoying controls? I really had hoped they went for something like "Pac Man CE" but steering the mouse through the mazes is frustrating as hell, especially in the higher levels. Totally messed up crap...

You and your friend(s) need to play Age of Booty together too (and Castle Crashers)

Hey Sectus, I bumped into you the other day during Age of Booty. Too bad you ended up on a lousy team with no headsets.

I also believe that Spirit of Jazz posts around these parts (played against him too for a bit), but I'm not too sure.

I got your message yesterday but I didn't notice you in the game. To be honest, I tend to not use a mic anyway unless I'm playing with friends. After some experiences in Halo 3 and GTA4, I've pretty much given up on the search for intelligent life on X-Box Live.

I picked up Tenchu today - surprisingly really fun game. The way you combo traps to defeat powerful enemies is really satisfying. I played for a few hours and am already up to 19/30, but the levels are getting pretty difficult (especially the dog enemies). The car alarm sound that starts wailing when you're low on health is pretty awful though...it's almost funny. I'll probably try out multiplayer next time I play though I doubt anyone else bought it.
Yeah, the singleplayer in Tenchu is great. The later levels feels really tough when you first try them, but after experimenting around I found some rather cunning solutions which were surprisingly easy to execute. Too bad it's rather short.

Multiplayer makes absolutely no sense though. You set down traps which everybody can see and people avoid them. That's it. I have absolutely no idea how multiplayer is supposed to be played.

Attention -- the Aperture Science Enrichment Center coordially invites you back to experience its award-winning testing facility very soon on the Xbox Live Arcade. Play it again and for the first time with the complete original, 6 advanced maps and 14 new challenge maps. GamerScore Blog officially announced today that Portal: Still Alive will land on the marketplace on October 22. Unfortunatley no price was revealed, which makes us think we're going to have to open the wallet wider than the average 800MS points. We can still dream, together.

So. What are the best releases for Arcade since Castle Crashers? I've been a bit outta the loop.
Duke Nukem 3D and Mega Man 9. Age of Booty if you like multi but pass otherwise. The Tenchu demo was interesting (for SP) but I'm not paying $10 for it. Rocketbowl was kinda interesting, again not sure if it's worth $10, but decent casual stuff. SamSho2.

There hasn't been a single thing for me since Castle Crashers, and XBLA is my main source for games on the system. Though if I didn't have a Wii I probably would have gotten Mega Man 9 on XBLA.

Duke Nukem really is a fantastic port in every imaginable way.

I'd play it more often if FUCKING MORE PEOPLE WERE ONLINE.

Still missing the final Dukematch achievement and want to play some more delicious delicious co-op.

Online for most XBLA games is pointless. This is also true for the majority of retail games as well (I'm loving Dark Sector's online).

It's pretty much a month of some ass holes rushing you through the game and trying to take all the good items and then the online is dead forever after that.

I'll never be able to get the "All three people in a tank" Achievment for WotB: Commando 3.

Penny Arcade Episode 2 next week for 1200 points

Microsoft, it would seem, has no pity whatsoever for our aching bank accounts (or cash stuffed mattresses, these days), as it has been officially announced that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 2 will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, October 29. The game includes many new gameplay features, including extra difficulty modes, completion tracking, and the ability to transfer Episode One characters into the game. The game will also feature music from The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, a rock group devoted to the writing of H. P. Lovecraft. Perhaps best of all -- and certainly most interesting -- PAAOTRSPDE2 will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, a full $5 less than the 1600 point Episode One.

I've found it kind of easy to get Duke Nukem 3D online games. Same with Age of Booty.

Do wish Duke had an AoB system to joining games though, or a system where you could just join a game while its playing, like a PC title.

So the Portal download is over 700 mbs....isn't this a big deal? I'm really happy, does this mean Microsoft is going to change their file size policy for certain games (companies)?

And why is no one talking about this game...

Zombies!!! confirmed for Xbox Live Arcade

Posted Oct 23rd 2008 11:00AM by Richard Mitchell
Filed under: News, Xbox Live Arcade

After a rumor began circulating over the summer, Twilight Creations officially announced last week that its Zombies!!! board game is headed to Xbox Live Arcade. For those unfamiliar with the game (like us), it's a tile-based game that has players attempting to flee from the "ever-growing zombie horde." So, in other words, it sounds pretty much like the best board game of all time. Zombies!!! is being developed by Big Rooster, which is also working on bringing the board game Wings of War to XBLA. It's also worth noting that Big Rooster was the studio behind the recently canceled XBLA version of Talisman (hopefully not the beginning of a trend). Zombies!!! is expected to release some time in 2009.

Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader and More This Wednesday!
posted Monday, October 27, 2008 9:00 AM by DirtyDiva

This Wednesday on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, check out "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader". Check and see just how much you remember from your grade school years as your knowledge is tested in 21 subjects with over 6000 questions.

Even if your memory isn't as great as little Timmy next door, you can still outwit your opponents using cheats like peeking at your partner's paper.

Challenge yourself against up to four of your friends either over Xbox LIVE or on the couch next to you/

Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader will cost 1200 MS Points and is rated E for Everyone.

Also coming on Wednesday is a bonus level for Marble Blast. This multiplayer level will include one extra achievement.

Good god, $15 for Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?

You know... you think they're going to charge money to access the NXE games like 1 vs. 100?
