*eats crow* I assumed games would be delayed due to Summer of Arcade, like how the Wallace episodes seem to be to quote Rlan's post.

Want some Tabasco? :D

It definitely sounds like it when you read MS' press about Summer of Arcade but as has been mentioned there is not only precedent but also 99% confirmed news that something not on the SOA list is hitting during the same period. MS should get their act together and have a more accurate list that stretches further out if you ask me, still more games is a good thing.

Can you only play these xbox live arcade games such as Garou, only when you are connected to Xbox live? I can't play this game unless I am, which I don't understand.

You can play the game offline on the console you first downloaded the game. If you play the game on another Xbox you have to be connected.

Couldn't say it better myself, now to decide if I want PS3 marvel capcom 2 or 360 and get the free points back

Just want to point out that 5 of the top 10 and 10 of the top 20 xbox 360 games scored on Metacritic right now are xbla games (not including dlc add ons with scores). Xbla is a pretty strong platform on it's own, not that I need to tellanyone here that.

I just turned in my review for Turtles in Time and enjoyed it thoroughly. I've put time into the next eps of Sam & Max and Wallace & Gromit -- along with Sonic & Knuckles -- on Partnernet. Still waiting on Shadow Complex to show its face so I can get in on that action.

Glad to hear you liked TMNT. I'm looking forward to it quite a lot.

Could you give us the final word on the music in the game?

What would you like to know about it? It's not annoying, it's not grating, and they are not distracting from the gameplay. The voice-overs are humorous (especially Krang's) and the sound effects are halfway decent, but hardly noticeable when you are fighting so many enemies at one time. I wasn't a fan of the "announcer" before every level as the voice seemed to be drowned out.

What he probably wants to know, as do all of us, is if theres a toggle for the old soundtrack or if its all the pretty naff 'new' soundtrack?

that would be a no. You can turn the sound effects and music down or off if you like.

@Caspel: is there any replay value (unlockables, cheats, new characters)? how long is the game in general?

is it worth 15 bucks?

The only real unlockables are the levels themselves that you can play in Quick Play mode. I wouldn't know of any cheats since I'm not a dev and didn't program the game. I did attempt to use the cheats just now from the old SNES game but they didn't work (such as extra lives, changing music). No new characters (Rocksteady, Bebop, Casey Jones, and the rest of the usual suspects are not included. Not much of April O'Neil or Splintter either).

Is it worth 15 bucks? To those who enjoy co-op: yes. For diehard TMNT fans: yes. But the value of the game really comes down to what you expect for $15.

Way to go on teasing the original soundtrack in previews and stuff then, fucking jackasses.
They never teased us with the original soundtrack. They had the SNES music as a placeholder.

That certainly qualifies as teasing to me. They could have just had it be silent like most other preview stuff if the music wasn't ready rather than twisting the "heres the awesome original soundtrack you can't have" knife.

There's just too many XBLA goodness that came out/is coming out that I want, but I haven't even completed most of my old ones.

Another Junior looking for some info....

What are some great co-op XBLA games? A good friend of mine finally got him some XBL and we're looking look for some good co-op games.

Off the top of my head:
  • Alien Hominid HD
  • TMNT TiT Remake

N+, and prepared for a gut-bustingly awesome/difficult/hilarious time.

I'd say definitely Castle Crashers and probably some Battlefield: 1943.....

I like the idea of the Summer of Arcade deal, but really the only thing I'm looking forward to is Trials HD. Can't wait to bust my dudes head open! :D

Oh yeah, fucking Castle Crashers.:lol I knew I was forgetting a big XBLA game.

How is Splosion Man in co-op? ListenUp was saying it was very difficult in co-op due to the timing you both have to do for jumps

Thanks for the tips

Splosion is fantastic in coop, but online the lag makes it unplayable since it requires precise coordination.

I recently spoke to Telltale about where the Wallace Episodes were, and their reason for the delay was "Summer of Arcade". I would expect Sam & Max to be out a little further than that - you don't want to cannibalize either it or the original S&M sales.

Rlan, any idea how much MvC2 sold on XBL so far?

Don't forget Bionic Commando Rearmed for some very awesome co-op goodness.

(only local though, but that means only one of you has to buy it)

Start with N Plus aka the most underrated game of this gen.

Another vote here for N+. It'll take a while to be the 10 co-op episodes (50 levels) but it won't last as long as some others, depending on how good you are. Game is tough as nails so it could last a while I guess.
