Need more WORMS, I hope we get it soon for some epic online action.

Seriously.

Is Microsoft just that daft (hi, arne!)? Why in God's name are they sitting on an online, XBL-compatible version of a game with such an established fanbase and reputation for being one of the premiere multi-player experiences?

The day Worms drops is the day that I re-subscribe to the Gold service. Every week that passes and Worms isn't published is like a Holy Hand Grenade right to my gut. :(

I'll raise you that Holy Hand Grenade with a banana blaster.

the guys are working all together to get this out as soon as possible, I'm assuming Team17 probably already fixed the bug they were talking about that got pasted on gaf.

Heavy Weapon is pretty good. I'll probably buy this. Survival mode is awesome, and I foresee a LOT of competition for this mode on the Arcade leaderboards. :)

If you want to try the demo on your pc, don't play the flash version, as that's a stripped down version of the real game. The deluxe game is enhanced and much, much better.

Oh, for the really old school arcade folks here, there's this weapon in this game that's straight out of that classic 1987 arcade game called Heavy Barrel. In Heavy Weapon, you collect these power ups and once you collect x amount of these power ups, you get the ultimate weapon that just vaporizes everything it touches - just like Heavy Barrel. It seems like the designers of this game are paying homage to Heavy Barrel. Pretty cool!

I'm not sure if this means anything, but achievements for Root Beer Tapper, Paperboy and Minigolf Adventures are up.

Minigolf Adventures? What's that? My daughter and I just beat Cloning Clyde and we're looking for another game to play together. That one pic, and the achivements, make it look pretty interesting.

Old Sierra game. It was fun at the time, though I don't know how well it's aged.

Some pics of the screen I took at Microsoft's booth.

You know what needs to appear on XBLA?

OREGON TRAIL.

I'll even take it with Apple 2 graphics, and I don't care if the screen is stretched or whatever.

God damn I loved Crazy Golf on my Apple IIGS.

Retro or not, these are three must have games. I've been dying for a good Mini Golf game.

Heavy Weapon seems to be available.

Name: Heavy Weapon
Price: 800 Points
Not Available in: Hong Kong, Singapore or Taiwan
Dash Details: FANTASY VIOLENCE, USE OF TOBACCO] Single Player, Xbox Live Multiplayer 1-2, 5.1 Surround Sound, HD (High Definition). Sure, you can defend our way of life for free. For a while. But if you're serious about liberty and committed to dealing out gigajoules of destructive power, there's only one way to go. Buy Heavy Weapon now!

Hmm Heavy Weapon turned out better then I expected. Though a small change in theory, the ability to move in the opposite direction that you're firing makes the game immensely more playable then it's PC counterpart.

Also appears that the demo on live is 1 hour like the PC one, I didn't play a full hour but I did put in a little over 30 mins and it hadn't stopped yet so that is a nice piece of content for a demo. Game also got bitchass hard about that point, something I wasn't expecting from a Popcap shooter.

I might actually buy this, decisions decisons.

Heavy Weapon is actually pretty damn good IMO (I just bought it). There's quite a lot of content in the demo too so you can make an informed decision. My first impression was that it was way too easy, but the difficulty seems to be ramping up.

The mega laser is pretty awesome and using the nuke was cool as well. Has Xbox Live co-op and multiplayer too, haven't tried it yet but glad to see it there, gives more value to the game.

Something neat about it this game is that any achievements you would've earned playing through the demo get unlocked as soon as you purchase it - I haven't seen that done before.

going to test it tonight but I heard that the problem of this game was... too easy!
Still waiting for gyruss!!! He MS where is Gyruss??

Man the heavy weapon demo is really fun,I might buy the full version.

Maybe it's just me, but when I hit the transylvania level I got my ass kicked so very very hard.

Heavy Arms is back n forth for me.

It's fun, but I'm not sure how many times I'd replay it.

But on the other hand, RPG-like weapon upgrading. I love that shit.

But how long would I possibly wanna go back and forth and shoot?

But, it's got co-op. I love co-op! And, and it's pretty hectic, too.

But, I don't think it's story mode co-op, just Survival.

B'ah. I dunno what to do. I'll see what the bitch (Vyse) does.

Demo'd & then Baught.

Love the game, got into top 100 so far woo (while knowone has it)

I think I've taken the wrong tactic tho, maxed out my Lazer (i love that beam of death) but man im wide open, gona jump on live n try the co-op. hit me up with a friends req if you want in.

/thinks of the hours wasted tring to beat those little purple helicopter bullets GRR!

You can re-distribute your points to other weapons, or at least I think you can. Pressing B over a weapon will reduce the points you've given it.

Ok I have just played the endless 4 play co-op mode on live. lastest ten & a half minutes woop! :)

So much fun, its manic and the net code is rock solid, didn't notice one bit of lag.

Hey guys, which one is more difficult? Heavy Weapon or Assault Heroes? Skipped AH because it looked too easy for me. I'm already this close to buying Heavy Weapon because of its online capabilities (netcode any good by the way?), so I need a little confirmation about its difficulty.

meh, whatever happened to Castle Crashers? Its devlopment news has become rather sparse!
Q1 2007 when it was announced. Logically, they're first going to finish Alien Hominid before they fully focus on Castle Crashers.

All the Live Arcade demos work like that as far as I know.

The Castle Crashers Wikipedia entry has a release date of Feb. 17 for the game. I have no idea where they got that information from, so I'm not holding my breath. It sure would be nice to have both Alien Hominid HD and Castle Crashers out by then, though.

All i have to say is:

How can i not buy this game?

That's why i already did. Only thing it misses is, every bullet that i don't destroy on the air should make a hole on the floor, and i should have to press A to jump it.

That's the only thing that this game is missing from perfection.

Oh shit, thats quite the screw up.:/

I'm guessing you're playing it on one of the compilation disks that was released for either the PSone/DreamCast years back?

But anyways-yeah...I've been screaming about this game forever. Where the hell is it on Live?! I mean Frogger makes it to Live,Rally X makes it,yet a beauty like this one is no where to be seen there? Its an injustice damnit. I'm gonna keep screaming till somebody over at Microsoft takes notice.:lol

I guess I'll keep playing the 5200 and ColecoVision versions till then.

I'm talking about how Heavy Weapons looks A HELLA LOT like moon patrol, minus the terrain deformation.
And thus, why i bought it. Because IT REMEMBERMS ME of moon patrol.

Oh shit....sorry about that. I need my morning coffee I guess, heh.

I plan to download it later today after I run out and buy a 1600 points card. But if it plays anywhere near like Moon Patrol-then I'll be one happy guy. Thanks for clearing my misunderstanding up.

The game, so far, is moon patrol with nice flash graphics, upgrades, power bomb (a nuke, actually), and no jumping holes. It's a good game.

And yet, i can't believe i bought a popcap games game. What the hell is wrong with me.

I downloaded the demo. It was suprisingly fun! Seemed really easy though. I didn't die at all until mission 6. Very cool how you don't lose your powerups when you die though. And I love that heavy metal intro and the announcer's deep "rock" voice. Reminds me of the feeling I got when you'd hear the announcers in Primal Rage or Mortal Kombat 1. Very cool. I think I may end up buying this one. Its more fun to me than Assault Heroes, which I thought was just okay.

Heavy weapon is fine and all, but the real question is, when does Castelvania SoTn comes out wtf.

QFMFT. I want to say it'll hit next week or the week after, but logic says that if I'm anticipating it, it'll be penned for an October release for sure. :P

BTW, anyone ever called 18004myxbox to get a refund on an arcade title? Assault Heroes doesn't do co-op like it advertised, so I want to get my money back and delete it from my system. I mean it has a co-op mode, but you can never connect to a game. Ever. So anyone ever tried for a refund?

fun game but in noway worth 800points. 400, yes.

Oh how I wish there was some sort of "Platinum Hits" type of price dropping going on with XBLA titles. There's a lot of stuff out there that I would buy if the price was more reasonable. This also goes for Marketplace content.

Heavy Weapon was pretty fun. Felt pretty limited, but still fun. It made me realize that MS are just being stupid with this whole "buy pre-assembled packets of points" thing. Cause I don't have enough to buy a full 1000 points on the account connected to XBL, and the 500 won't do it since I currently only have 230. MS won't be getting any money 'til I fill the account up again, and by that time I might've lost interest in Heavy Weapon. Had I been able to buy the 570 points I need, however...instant impulse buy after the first level.

Love the signs that say "Enemy HQ -- 1 mile." :lol

BTW, does anyone know what the "friendly fire" score at the end of a level is? Does that mean I actually should shoot the white heli?

Also, what are reinforcements? Is it just an annoying name for extra lives?

Apparently, it's on PartnerNet. The achievements are out so that confirms it. Should be out within in the next, oh, probably a short time-span for XBLA...sometime in 2008 or so, I'm guessing. It has to be "certified" you know! Might be pushed back into 2009 since "certifying" a long game like that might take double the usual time.

I have the co-op achievement and I got it by randomly connecting to a co-op game. Kinda pops holes in your theory.

(The real reason is that XBLA games have an extremely short lifespan. People play them for a week or two and then the online portion of them is deader than dead and you won't find any random hosted games.)
