IT sounds like Pub Games is Aug.

XBLA: CVG Brings More Information On 'Banjo-Kazooie' For Xbox Live Arcade
banjoxbla.jpgThe Computer & Video Games website have had a nice, long discussion with Rare about their 'Banjo-Kazooie - Nuts & Bolts'. Within the interview, they discuss the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade version of the original as well!
CVG: How did the Xbox Live Arcade version come about?
Betteridge: It was obviously an IP we had, some code we had and there are a lot of fans out there that have nostalgia for that game and would like to play that game.
It's being done by 4J Studios. It runs better on the Xbox 360 and there's always going to be a market for that, as Nintendo's shown with Virtual Console on the Wii.
It just made a lot of sense to do that project at the same time as Nuts 'N Bolts, maybe release it slightly before as a bit of a teaser and then come out with the 360 version. I'm not sure about the exact timing, but that's how the conversation came about.
It seems the time is right now, to put it with this, rather than three or four years ago just to go "here's old Banjo" with no connection.
4J Studios have previously been known as a porting house - previously working on the PS3 versions of 'Oblivion' and 'Overlord: Raising Hell'. They've not done an Xbox 360 title before - it looks like Banjo may be their 'bridging' game to allow them to get some Xbox 360 development kits and get a hand of how to develop the game.
They have also said that it will be essentially the same - including all previous Nintendo references, and apparently they're fine with it:
CVG: Legally, has there been no problem bringing an N64 game, Nintendo logos and all, over to 360?
Betteridge: There's been no problem. We still have a good working relationship with Nintendo. There was a lot of misconception when we joined Microsoft that we'd fallen out with Nintendo and we've never fallen out with Nintendo. We're still continuing to work on handheld and we have conversations with them.
It will be interesting to see if the game will have any sort of upgrades. Hopefully some things are touched up a little, like textures and text.
If Rare isn't working on it, I wonder if the guys behind 'Jetpac: Refuelled' are up to anything right now...

N+ Level Pack Contesque: Part the First
By M&R | July 16, 2008
The first XBLA N+ level pack, featuring 150 easier Singleplayer levels and 50 regular difficulty Co-op Multiplayer levels, is coming very very soon by the end of July!
To celebrate, its time for another contest-like-event, or to use our newly coined term, a cont-esque!
We decided to run the contesque from the blog because its pretty simple, so here goes. This event is open to everyone, worldwide, who wishes to enter. The rules are straightforward: below is a list containing 32 level names. 24 of these are from the first N+ Level Pack PDLC, and 8 are level names which do not appear in N+ PDLC0 level names we would never actually use for various reasons (style, cliche, etc). Well reveal these reasons with the winners, next week.
All you have to do is email PDLC0 [at] metanetsoftware [dot] com subject line: Contesque 1 Submission with the numbers of the 8 level names you think are fabrications. You can email the names of the levels as well, but please be sure to email the corresponding numbers.
The contest will be open for one week only, so get those submissions in fast! Only one per person, so make sure its your best guess. The top three will each receive a copy of N+ for XBLA, and the person with the most correct guesses will also receive a copy of the Official Xbox360 Magazine UK (Issue 35, July 2008) containing exclusive N+ gamerpics and themes, and an official N+ Moleskine notebook. You can see an image of the notebook and magazine here.

Right, given the recent deluge of Splash Page activity on Xbox.com, it has become trickier to figure out what exactly is coming out on any given week at the moment, so I have had to resort to an extra layer of cross referencing (Xbox.com XBLA Forum slots) and my best guess for a second game for next week would have to be Go, Go, Break Steady, not enterily sure, but it recently got a fully featured Xbox.com splash page and it got a forum slot this week, none of the new entries save 1942: Joint Strike and Geo Wars 2 meet that criteria and we know the release dates on those.
Puzzle Quest Galactrix takes the fantasy world of the original Puzzle Quest and injects it with a healthy dose of sci-fi. The "match three" gameplay is still present, as are the RPG elements, and it all comes together in a Puzzle Quest experience for those who prefer interstellar drama over orcs and goblins.
We're going to write the rest of this hands-on with the idea that the reader has played the original Puzzle Quest, because if they haven't, they should go out and rent/buy it right now. For those who played the first Puzzle Quest and didn't like it, Galactrix won't convert them, unless the sci-fi concept is the only thing they felt was missing from the original.
The main change to Puzzle Quest's gameplay in Galactrix is that the board is hex-based and jewels can be moved in six directions. If the player completes a three+-of-a-kind, then the board will push in from the direction the jewel was shifted -- jewels do not just drop down from the top anymore.
Other changes to the original rules is that 4-of-a-kind now gives a multiplier, 5-of-a-kind adds an extra turn. There are no more wild cards. Also, instead of skulls, there are mine looking symbols with numbers on them. The numbers represent the amount of damage that will be done to the enemy by completing the segment.
Special moves are still exactly where they were in the original game and there will be several classes to choose from at the beginning to determine the type of moves the player will receive.
One of the major components of the game is that you play as a trading vessel, which at this stage is a little awkward because the trading screen doesn't give a sense of the galactic economy. This was actually a point we got stuck on and discussed heavily with the game's producer. The gameplay is still the Puzzle Quest we've come to love, but the economic aspects currently fall flat because there's no way to see where in the galaxy items can be bought low and sold high.
We were also a little confused as to how relationships with the 10-20 factions in the game affected trade relations with us. For example, when we brought up the trading screen, the cost for one type of product lit up in green giving the impression that this item is purchased in this system for a high price ... but, what it really means is that your faction rating is high so trade with the race receives a boost.
The economy of Galactrix, which is significant change from PQ, is something we'd like to understand a lot better than what we could grasp in our 20 minutes with the game. There is also several other side things we didn't have the time to test in detail. Once again, just like Puzzle Quest, Galactrix appears like it's going to deliver a lot of content.
There's still plenty of time for us to get an idea of the changes Galactrix will bring to the PQ formula as the title isn't expected until early 2009. As long as the sci-fi aspect isn't a total turn-off, Galactrix looks to bring a similar addictive RPG/Puzzle experience to fans of this new hybrid genre.
In a nutshell, Flock is an evolved form of Lemmings: Using your ship and it's various beams, you guide sheep, chicken, cows and pigs past obstacles and into the Mother Flocker (be careful about slurring that name). The game will also feature co-op and a map editor. Although we weren't able to see either feature in action, Capcom's Kraig Kujawa told us their goal is to implement cross-console map sharing.
Part of the fun is failing, as Kujawa seemed to prove by spending most of the session either showing me different ways to kill my flock or doing it himself. There are some benefits to killing, as the flock will leave behind slabs of meat that can be used to distract enemies.
Kujawa provided some insight into the focus testing of the game. The aim of the developers was appeal to as many people as possible, male and female. What came from that is the inclusion of "angels" that flies up off screen after one of your flock members dies (think: Milky from Blur's "Coffee & TV" music video). Another decision that came from focus testing was the removal of timers; you can take as long as you want to finish a level, although you earn medals depending on how fast you finish.
Best part of the demo? A Rube Goldberg-esque level that ends with one sheep being catapulted into the Mother Flocker. Kujaway told us an improved version will likely be making its way into the final game. Flock is coming this holiday season to Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.

I'd wait & see what the dlc is & how much it costs. Right now, there's not enough to justify the price, especially as only one course is actually fun to play. Hopefully, though I'm doubtful, they'll give something away. Didn't that pinball game give a table as free dlc?gregor7777 said:So, has there been any word on additional courses for that Golf game?

If you come off the fairway you are disproportionately punished. You are straight in the heavy rough & you cannot hit very far at all. On some holes, you cannot stay on the fairway if the wind is against you, others have trees at the end of the fairway, which you have to give a wide berth as it's very difficult to judge if you'll hit them or not & they'll stop your ball dead. Your ball also rolls far too far on the fairway which often leaves you in the heavy rough again. I'm sure you can imagine how these elements combine to create a frustrating experience.gregor7777 said:In what way?
