Actually I just listed XBLA games with >200 gamerscore, but it seems like Joust somehow has 205 without DLC... unless that achievement site has an incorrect point value for something.

Ah how I miss XBLA. At school my computer setup is right next to my console, so I can use it. At home all I have is a wireless network and I don't want to pay $100 for the official microsoft wireless adapter. Does anyone know if the Pelican brand one is a worthy substitute? I'm skeptical.

Take a look at EOP (Ethernet Over Power) Adaptors. They are most likely cheaper than the MS Wireless nic and most definately faster.

Vigilante 8 Arcade Update: Classic PS1 Cars

Original PS1 car models unlockable!
Friday, July 25th, 2008

The cat is out of the bag!

As a special treat for the fans of the original games, Isopod Labs is including eight original V8 PS1 car models in V8: Arcade.

The guys labored hard in the labs, converting the original 3D geometry, textures, and removing advanced texture-blending, to ensure that these rare replicas are restored to their authentic old-gen glory.

And, for the ‘history’ buffs, Isopod is proud to unveil the original Piranha — the first vehicle ever built for V8, but never included in the commercial versions of the game. This orange muscle car was based on the ‘Pickard Piranha’ from Interstate ‘76, driven by the character of Jade Champion and later her brother, Groove. The car was dropped early in development, after V8’s design was retooled as an arcade car-combat game.

These ‘Classic’ V8 vehicles can be unlocked by successfully beating the Single Player Quest of each character.

Has a release date been set for Castle Crashers yet? I've had points just sitting in my account.

Haven't we all. =\

The only thing we know is that it's part of Microsoft's summer lineup and will be out by the last Wednesday in August. We still don't know a set date and knowing the luck of people waiting for it, it won't be out until that very last day, but I refuse to give up hope each and every week until then.

Achieve360Points incorrectly has a 5 point achievement listed as 10 points. I assumed that since the game total was above 200, it was DLC. My bad.
Just like what your previous post said, I was just confirming :)

MTV Multiplayer Blog recently went hands-on with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts and at the end of said article a sliver of information regarding the XBLA version of Banjo 1 was relayed.

In summation, all of those extra bits in the original Banjo-Kazooie are at long last going to be unlocked, I have been waiting 10 long years for my ice key.
This is interesting (love stuff like this, hidden game stuff and beta crap) but did anyone ever hack a rom and find out what was behind the locked gate or anything?

Apparently Shotest Shogi popped up on the Japanese XBLA Yesterday...?

Oh, shit. Looks like it could be Wednesday then. GeoWars and Rearmed in one Wednesday.

Bye, bye, 1600 points. :lol

I finished the expansion for Puzzle Quest yesterday and I am quite disappointed. I was hoping for more, especially considering the high price tag. It only lasted about 5 hours. There is only like 3 quests in the game (some other minor ones as well, but pretty quickly). The three quests are the ones that give you the achievements, but they are pretty short. Plague Lord was the main disappointment, too easy, even easier than the battles in the Stormfriend quest. The main game has so much more content. No way I can recommend the expansion at 700 points….

Pretty cool idea, IMO, to boost things up a notch by releasing lots of great DLC in late summer as a run-up to the big retail season.

Time to stock up on some spacebucks ....

Ok, out of all of the games coming next month, which one is the best if you can only get one? Don't say anything like "buy them all" just tell me which one is the best.

I'd go with Castle Crashers

Castle Crashers by a mile. Four player dungeon crawling adventure with simply an incredible amount of content.

Got to be between Castle Crashers and Geo-Wars 2. I'll go with Castle Crashers just because it looks so fresh, and we've had a lot of two stick shooters on XBLA recently.

And now some worrying news from Gamespot over the fate of Sierra Online.

ctivision Blizzard 'streamlining' Vivendi
Prototype, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and Ice Age survive the big merger; Massive Entertainment and Swordfish Studios under the microscope.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Jul 28, 2008 5:21 pm PT

You can't make the world's largest third-party omelette without breaking a few eggs. In the wake of the merger with Vivendi Games, Activision Publishing today announced that it is streamlining the subsumed company's operations.

As part of the drive for increased efficiency, Activision will "realign" staff at Radical Entertainment (Prototype, Crash of the Titans) and High Moon Studios (The Bourne Conspiracy, Darkwatch). As for their sister subsidiaries Massive Entertainment (World in Conflict, Ground Control) and Swordfish Studios (50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Cold Winter), Activision is "exploring options," including the sale or closing of the outfits.

The future is similarly uncertain for Sierra Online (Assault Heroes 2) and Vivendi Games Mobile (Prison Break, Cake Mania 2). The publisher deemed them "non-strategic business units" and said it is exploring the possibility of closing or selling them as well.

"We are focused on improving efficiency across the combined organization and are concentrating on businesses where we have leadership positions that are aligned with Activision Publishing's long-term corporate objectives," Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said in a statement.

As for the Vivendi properties that are definitely sticking around, Activision said it is adding Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, and Ice Age to its stable of popular brands. It will also bring in two new intellectual properties Vivendi had been working on: Radical Games' Prototype, and one as-yet unannounced title.

"We have conducted a thorough review of Vivendi Games' brand portfolio and are retaining those franchises and titles that are a strong fit with our long-term product strategy," Griffith said. "We are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing."

The press release makes no mention of other anticipated Vivendi titles like Double Fine Productions' Brutal Legend or Terminal Reality's Ghostbusters. Activision representatives did not immediately respond to GameSpot's requests for comment on the status of these and other Vivendi projects.

Back in March, Variety reported that Vivendi developers were having to re-pitch their games to the incoming Activision management. At the time, Double Fine head Tim Schafer said he hadn't been asked to go anywhere or pitch anything special.

Well, looks like the following XBLA games are on the chopping block thanks to Activision. Sierra Online was one of the biggest supporters, but apparently they won't be around for longer...

1) Cribbage
2) Interpol
3) Gin Rummy
4) Red Baron Arcade
5) Vigilante 8 Arcade
6) Zombie Wranglers

(as well as Assault Heroes, Red Baron Arcade, Switchball ports for the PSN crowd)

I've been craving some Castle Crashers bad lately, but it seems like the best choice unless you're really really into retro arcade shooters.

With Castle Crashers coming out (and since im sure Bionic Command Rearmed has a kick ass soundtrack) im going to make myself a custom playlist. Though im not sure if it has to be a Windows Media Player playlist, or if I can make a playlist with the Zune software.

Frankly, those could all just go away except for maybe V8 :)
