i was looking forward to lode runner, have to say that at 1200 though its not the sort of game i would pick up. unless the demo blows me away of course.

Rlan said:Lode Runner is really fully featured. 220 levels, Journey Mode, Cooperative mode, survival modes, puzzle mode, and a level editor. I mean for $15 the game will keep you going for quite a while. While I love Outrun Arcade on XBLA, it;s not exactly filled with content - but is very replayable as each game essentially runs you about 5 minutes, with the "full" mode taking 15 or so.
I'm going to buy them anyhow, but it's difficult as I have very little time for them. I'm buying Lode Runner KNOWING that I won't have the time to actually finish the game. That's fucked.
mujun said:with the exception of castle crashers i have pretty much only played xbla games for a short period after i buy them and then never play them again. im sure its worth 1200, im just not willing to pay that much for it unless it really wows me.
Pfft, if you play any game for more than 2 weeks you are wasting your time.catfish said:yeah same
I dunno why, xbla titles never get that much time from me. Usually because I have a big title like SFIV consuming my life I guess. God that game is crack.
Galactrix DS is $20 at TRU this week, and might qualify for a buy 1 get 1 50% deal on Friday/Sat. Guess what XBLA game I'm not buying?<sigh> So they really are charging $20 for a worse version of Puzzle Quest.
Grecco said:1200 seems like the standard price now. Hilarious how this was to be expected when Braid came out.
lll download the Flock trial but really got no interest at 1200
Shard said:I been waiting on that third DLC level myself, I am refusing to launch the game without it.
Rlan said:Well it'd be stupid to release anything else this week anyhow - with Penny Arcade cheap, Flock and Galactrix out, even fewer people would buy it.
voltron said:Despite the coverage level I still say Microsoft are FUCKING MORONS for not implementing a feature which allows you to subscribe to DLC feed for any game that you purchase. DLC gets released? No problem - you find a message waiting for you on the dashboard.
I honestly believe that would bump up sales for certain games and DLC packs CONSIDERABLY.

Great graphics too.

I paid $30 for both Worms 2 and Worms: Armageddon on the PC and I considered that price a bargain for all the play time I got out of those two titles. I'm getting sick of Team 17 rehashing the same game over and over though. I would rather see a sequel to Warheads at this point.cjelly said:I think you answered your own question.
If they had the audacity to charge $13 for Worms HD 1.1, then you can bet your life the full sequel will be 1200. I don't think they'd dare charge 1600. Team 17 have a little bit of common sense.
Microsoft, however...

Buying Microsoft Points on Xbox Live can be a frustrating experience. You can get $6.25 worth, or $12.50 worth, or even $25 and $62.50 worth... but you can never buy as many as you need for a $5 game. That means you're always left with points left over, which means you buy more points to buy more games to still have overlap. Today, Amazon has launched a new service allowing you to buy Xbox Live Arcade games from it. The big news? The games are sold for their actual cost.
It's live right now. You can buy a $10 game for $10. You don't have to worry about points, or how many points to pick upyou simply buy the game. Amazon then gives you a code to download the game, or to give to a friend. After that, you download the game as usual.
It's still convenient, since you can buy from your home; the only difference is the whole garbage aspect of Microsoft points has been thrown out the window. No more buying points you don't need, no more converting points to cashyou just pay the dollar amount. It's liberating!
I'm interested in your response: is this a service you think you'll use, or am I making too big of a deal of the points issue?
Here's a strange one for you - the Korean Games Rating Board has revealed that Garou: Mark Of The Wolves, known stateside as Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, has been rated by Microsoft of Korea, meaning that it should be bound for the Xbox Live Arcade.
Released in 1999 for the Arcades and later on the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2, Mark Of The Wolves was the very last title in the Fatal Fury line of games. For its time it was considered to be a pinnacle title, receiving excellent reviews all around.
The game was also one of the last released for the Neo Geo system, and pushed the Neo Geo's graphic capabilities to its limits. SNK have already released Fatal Fury Special on the Xbox Live Arcade and are planning to release King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match this year, and with the addition of the rumored Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, it looks like it might be a resurgence of fighting games is on our hands. Possibly too many, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.
Now I just need to find me one of those Capcom Fight Pads.
This is funny, the exact opposite is true for me. Castle Crashers and Puzzle Quest were worth it while Braid and Lumines were not. We have polar opposite tastes in games.soldat7 said:Here are the games I've purchased at 1200 MS Points:

Taito and Backbone Entertainment have released new video and screenshots showing various examples of the colorful and synthetically organic visualizer backgrounds in Taito's upcoming Space Invaders Extreme for Xbox LIVE Arcade.
Created by Jeff Minter (Llama Soft) -- known for games like Tempest 2000, Space Giraffe, Gridrunner, and more -- the dynamic visualizers are synchronized with music and gameplay, and increase in intensity and saturation as the invaders speed up or change formations. In keeping with the storyline of the game, the visualizer backgrounds are abstract representations of the Space Invader invasion from outer space (Universe) to Earth, from landing (Nature) to Tokyo day and night.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean? There was a sub-section of actual games from the Arcade on the original Xbox?shintoki said:You know, are they actually going fucking do something with Arcade hits? I don't actually think I've seen any new ones added since I got an Xbox :lol
Yeah, I'm not touching that BBCode anymore. Quote it if you want to see what it would look like if a word processor threw up.UraMallas said:Awesome post except you need to fix some of those lines.

Ura's EDIT: Good God man, I take it back. You don't have Heavy Weapon up there, which is by far the best XBLA. BY FAR.

BTW, they gave the game a 5.5, complained about seeing it all before. Fuck them, I have OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast, I'm still getting OROA anyways...![]()
