Lode Runner 4/22, 1200pts (but I guess it came out at 800?)
Banjo Tooie 4/29, 1200pts

Yosumin Live, Spring, 800pts
OD Beat Drop, Spring-Summer, price tbd
Garou Mark of Wolves, Spring-Summer, price tbd
0 Day Attack on Earth, 2009, price tbd
Project Cube, 2009, price tbd
Bubble Bobble Neo, 2009, 800pts
The King Of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, 2010, price tbd
The King Of Fighters -Sky Stage-, date tbd, price tbd
Nectaris Military Madness, 2010, 800pts

In other words, don't hold your breath for KOF2002UM and Nectaris :/

Well it's be stupid to release KOF2002 with KOF '98 coming out sometime this year. Hell it's stupid that they even announced it, really.

Surprised at the lack of Metal Slug 7 at the conference honestly, considering everything else they were showing there.

Also, that or should I get miner dig deep?
The Dishwasher is damn fun. Tight controls, 60fps, and a great fighting engine. The campaign is long for an arcade game, and there's a huge amount of "arcade" levels to complete, too. The difficulty ramps up quickly, so be ready to die a lot.

Miner Dig Deep is probably the best community game available, and it's like two bucks.

Can't go wrong with either.

Well people would be crazy to wait a year or so for KoF 02 while completely ignoring 98. Aside from that both games have a number of differences between them.
Main reason I'm favoring 02 is because all of my favorites are in: K', Angel, Kula, Whip, etc.

Tempted to buy Phantasy Star 2 simply for the easy 200 points.

DICE Announces $15 Price for Battlefield 1943

Premium Arcade Title Delivers Endless Hours of Multiplayer Fun, Legendary WWII Battlefield Action and Destruction

STOCKHOLM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio (NASDAQ:ERTS), today announced that Battlefield 1943™ will be available in June for $15 USD in the Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace (1200 MS Points) or the PlayStation®Store. The action-packed arcade title will also be available for PC in September. Battlefield 1943 is an all-new multiplayer game that offers endless hours of 24-player action in popular maps inspired by Battlefield 1942™, now updated with the Frostbite™ engine. The total destructibility afforded by the Frostbite engine ups the ante and leaves players with nowhere to hide.

In Battlefield 1943, intense battles ensue over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Gamers play as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy, competing by land, air and sea. Players have the freedom to pick their path in battle - be it as a rifleman crawling through the trenches, a steel fisted tank commander, or a dog fighting pilot that protects the skies.

“Using the same Frostbite engine that we developed for Battlefield: Bad Company, we are able to take players back to WWII and return to the roots of the Battlefield franchise, but with a new twist – destruction,” said Gordon Van Dyke, Producer on Battlefield 1943. “We want to offer gamers the most accessible online shooter experience and the best value found in any premium download title with Battlefield 1943.”

XBLA: Zombie Wranglers Finally Making Its Way On May 6th
zombiewranglers.jpg

Frozen Codebase have revealed that Zombie Wranglers will finally be making its debut on Xbox Live Arcade on May 6th.

Zombie Wranglers was meant to be coming out way back on September 17th of 2008 but just as it was about to be released, it got stuck in XBLA purgatory due to the Sierra merging with Activision. Now it appears that everything is sorted out, and the game will be released in just two weeks.

I don't know about Dishwasher, but Miner Dig Deep is a MUST buy IMO. For $2.50 you get about 6-8 hours of addicted gameplay on your first play through. It's the best game that you can download to your 360 from arcade or xna. I loved Braid, and others, but Miner Dig Deep is just addictive good fun. The ride did not get old for me at any point until the end. Plus I'm sure I'll be back starting a new mine in a few months.

Regarding Phantasy Star II, is it the exact same game as the sonic collection with added achievements, or did they do something cool like make it true widescreen. If they made it widescreen I'd double dip for 200 points.

I decided that the time was right to finally buy Castle Crashers and wow, a great fun game just like I expected. Originally I was turned away because of the save bugs and multiplayer drop out's.

The forest area after the demo boss is great fun, the moment I stole the crocodile ride and started to chomp at the enemies I was instantly reminded of Golden Axe :lol love it.

TO add, the PS2 achievements sound nice but the Sonic 3 achievements are just like Sonic 1 and 2, you can unlock 90% of them in one run if you have played the game a few times before :lol and so many missed ideas like beating the game with tails alone instead of sonic, one achievement Sonic 2 should have used.

Paramount Digital Entertainment, Bad Robot Interactive, CBS and Naked Sky Entertainment today announced the launch of Star Trek: D-A-C, coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade this May, and to PlayStation Network and Windows PC shortly thereafter. Inspired by the upcoming "Star Trek" movie from Paramount Pictures, Star Trek: D-A-C is a fast-paced, top-down space shooter where players take the captain’s chair and engage in intense online multi-player or co-op battles. Pick up and play, then lead your team to victory.

Star Trek: D-A-C allows fans to directly control a variety of ships and pitch battles between Starfleet and the Romulan Empire. Up to 12 players can compete in thrilling team combat. There are three game play modes - single player, online multiplayer and online co-op. For each mode, there are three different game types - Team DeathMatch, Assault and Conquest. Players can choose from three ship types for each faction, including the newfeatured in the "Star Trek" film. Each ship - the powerful Flagship, the nimble Fighter and the devastating Bomber - offers its own unique capabilities for players to master and manipulate as they fight for victory. In addition to featuring the new U.S.S. Enterprise, Star Trek: D-A-C incorporates music and signature sounds taken directly from the new "Star Trek" film.

Star Trek: D-A-C is scheduled to launch May 2009 for the Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, and for the PlayStation Network and Windows PC shortly thereafter. It is rated "E" by the ESRB. NEON BLASTER

Smashmouth already has in place a catalogue of several other IP,
one of which is Neon Blaster. This innovative game takes the
premise of a Space Invader style shooter and puts a dynamic new
spin on it with the player controlling an energy orb and launcher
platform to repel invading neon hordes. Neon Blaster has been
created in prototype form in Adobe Flash. The first iteration of Neon
Blaster is exclusively licensed to ILoaded.com, whilst Smashmouth
Games retains full IP rights. Our end goal for this IP would be
releasing a console version of Neon Blaster for Xbox Live Arcade
on the Xbox 360.

The latest OXM reveals what happened to Lost Cities:

Truly Lost: Lost Cities isn't on our list because this engrossing card game is no longer on XBLA. When Vivendi merged with Activision, the Lost Cities license reverted back to the licensor.

Looks like we can finally close this case. :D

DLC Collector's Item!

To be fair, Lost Cities is pretty weak even as a board game imo (and I own the card game). Always though it was an odd pick.

I wonder if it's still up for download if you've already purchased it? I have purchased it but I definitely don't want to push my luck to find out if I can and have it disappear forever.

Aww, man, procrastinated too long on Lost Cities... Been buying most of the 'eurogame' boardgame type stuff on the system but just hadn't gotten around to that one, just got the demo :/

Been looking to get a game or two, are the achievements really hard to get for any of these?

Geometry Wars 2
N+
Portal
Street Fighter HD

Geometry Wars 2: Really easy, I got most of them the first day I played, the sequence mode achievements can take a while.
N+: About average, the co-op ones are insane, but everything else is alright, though the later levels are also very hard.
Portal: I don't know.
Street Fighter HD: You have to play a lot online, but they're not super tough, just win a lot, clear arcade mode, etc...if you're already good at the older versions then these shouldn't be too bad.

Next Week - Virtual On (1200), Banjo Tooie (1200) Maybe Space Invaders Extreme
May 6th - Star Trek DAC, Zombie Wranglers
Sometime in May - Arkanoid Live, Space Invaders Extreme (probably) Cellfactor: Psycokinetic Wars (maybe)

GeoWars is a doable 200/200 but the Smile achievement if nothing else will take you a while. I don't think I'll ever beat the campaign (The last levels are fucking HARD) of N+, and I've never found a single online game, so that's 3 or 4 achievements out the window right there. You can't go wrong with Portal and I'm sure the achievements are mostly easy if they're at all like the PC achievements (Barring the advanced courses), but if replayability is a concern to you you might want to look elsewhere. Never played Street Fighter so I can't comment on that one. Of that list, I'd recommend GeoWars 2 the most.

The achievements in Portal XBLA are completely different to the ones in Orange Box PC or Xbox. They were made in the mind of people who had already played Portal, like "Find all the Rat Man dens" and "Complete the game without ever taking a bullet." or "Trap yourself in a test chamber so that GLaDOS has to help you continue". You don't actually get an achievement for finishing the game.

Just to follow up on what you said: there is no self-respecting KOF fan (or, really, fighting game fan) that would not purchase '98 because '02 is coming. It would be like not purchasing SF2 HD because Capcom suddenly announces Alpha. '02 doesn't even begin to "replace" '98, so SNK Playmore announcing '02 before '98 even hits is meaningless.

Interesting.

Think Ill wait for a discount and totally re-buy Portal on Arcade.

I'll get this out of the way now, but it should come as no surprise to people that this Game Detail page is only on the US website. Don't expect to see 1 vs. 100 in Canada, Australia or Europe in light of the real prizes being given away.
Is that particular to 1v100? Because when Primetime was originally announced the line was:

“Xbox LIVE Primetime is available in North America, France, Germany and the U.K.”

If 1 v. 100 is free, that's epic win for XBLA.

Not that anything will pull me away from VO:OT for the next year or so, but yeah.

If you only gave me VO:OT and an Xbox 360 and no other games for the next two gens I'd be happy.

Played the trial of Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders and really enjoyed it. I'll buy it sometime, but it really made me want Final Fantasy Tactics on XBLA with online play...

Star Trek D-A-C Hands-On Preview (Xbox 360)

http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/2288/Star-Trek-DAC/p1/

It used to be, when games weren’t taken as seriously as potential licenses, that a game based on a movie—even with a loose connection—would ship a year or more after the film came out. A movie would hit theaters and then the game license would be negotiated, with development still needing to be done. It’s hard to ride the coattails” of a big movie when you’re out a year later—after the film is out of most people’s minds.

Today, as the digital-entertainment business continues to evolve, more and more publishers are taking advantage of the launch of a movie to bring the game out at the same time. The movie studios are more savvy, so they negotiate big brands after the film has been greeenlit. This enables the game companies to work in conjuction with the film production while the flick is being made, which helps to facilitate the sharing of assets, such as matching the film’s sets as 3-D replicas for use in the game. Being able to take this path, the gamemakers have a better opportunity to replicate the film’s look and feel in their products, so they can be more authentic and accurate to the source.

And in some cases, the movie studio starts the game company to take advantage of that synergy.

A big battle breaks out over a control point.

The latest to do just that is Paramount Pictures, which had revealed its digital plans recently and sped right out of the gate with an announcement of its plans for a “Star Trek”-based Xbox Live Arcade title due out in early May. The game, entitled Star Trek D-A-C, was inspired by the upcoming “Star Trek” movie that hits theaters on May 8—and certainly will get an advantage in proximity to the big-brother movie. Though Paramount doesn’t have a release date it’s announcing, we assume that the game will appear on Xbox Live Marketplace around the time the film comes out.

When Paramount came by the TeamXbox offices to show us the top-down space shooter, the somewhat cryptic name was the first order of business. We ask Ben Hoyt, the game’s senior producer, exactly what the “D-A-C” in the title stands for, and with a smirk he told us he could reveal it yet, but the answer could be found in the game. Hmmm…

After getting a rundown of the game and playing it for a bit, it would seem the answer lies in its gameplay modes: Team Deathmatch, Assault and Conquest. Okay, that means the game probably should have been called Star Trek T-D-A-C or Star Trek TD-A-C, but we’ll give latitude to Paramount on that.

ST:D-A-C is designed to be a 12-person multiplayer shooter, though it can be played with any number up to 12, even solo, by filling empty slots with bots. In fact, its gameplay configurations are Versus, Co-op and Solo. As you’d expect, the combatants are divided into Federation and Romulan factions.

The modes are pretty much what you’d expect from their names:

• Team Deathmatch is a team vs. team mode set up for ten-minute rounds with the first team to hit 50 kills declared the winner. If neither team reaches 50 before time is up, the winner is the team with the most kills.

• Assault is a mode that Hoyt called a “gauntlet-style” game. It requires a team to take four sequential control points, with one team on offense and the other on defense, then switching sides for a second match.

• Conquest has four control points: one for each team as its respective base and the other two being neutral. If a team captures the two neutral points, the opposing team’s base “unlocks” and can be captured for a win.

There are also three different craft to choose from, each with its strengths and deficiencies. The Flagship is slow, but makes up for it with the punch of its photon cannon. The bomber leaves powerful explosives in its wake and is the fastest of the trio, though it’s quite vulnerable to enemy fire. The Fighter is the middle-of-the-road choice that can deliver decently powered laser blasts and good acceleration.

Each ship controls the same way: You pilot it with the Left Stick and fire your weapon with the Right Trigger. The Flagship and Fighter can have their weapon aimed with the Right Stick, firing in the direction that you point it. You can also give a throttle boost with the A Button, and you can bring up a sector map with Y.

You have two main bar gauges, one for ship health and the other for energy. Seeing as both the weapon and boost tap into your energy reserve, you have to be careful with its use: If you drain too much energy escaping a battle with your boost, you might not have anything in reserve to fire shots if you happen upon another enemy. Similarly, if you unload your armaments in combat, but don’t take out the adversary, you won’t be able to put the pedal down and hightail it out of there to safety.

This is like the space-combat equivalent to a knife fight.

ST:D-A-C does offer some pick-ups around the universe. The white ones have a dual purpose in that they’re energy boosts that refill that gauge, but as you collect them, they also increase your weapon strength. The circle in the middle of your energy and health bars shows how much your weapon is charged up, and collecting five white orbs will max it out. There are also yellow pick-ups that give you a one-use benefit at the tap of a bumper button—as Hoyt said, much like Mario Kart. These include one that gives you a few seconds of invincibility to one that unleashes an area-effect blast that radiates out a short distance from your craft.

If your ship is blown out of the universe, you’re forced to start over, though you can pick which of the three you want to return with. An exception is if you hit the A Button at the right time after your craft has been destroyed, which will put you in an escape pod for a few seconds. If you survive that interval without having an enemy take you out, you’ll return to the action immediately after you select a replacement craft (otherwise, you have a respawn time you have to wait) and enter the battle with a portion of your previous weapon charge carried over to your new ship.

The game is fairly simple from a design standpoint, with the top-down view giving you a 2-D perspective on the action—almost like an advancement on the original Asteroids with multiplayer and more modern graphics effects. However, the ship models are 3-D, rolling and angling as you turn them, and with strong graphic effects, such as the smoke cloud that follows an explosion or the increasing glow of the ship thrusters when you trigger the boost.

Paramount opted to have a somewhat streamlined game—there are no famous actors delivering legendary “Star Trek” line, no cutscenes or even static screens displaying of any of the movie’s actors and no story elements whatsoever. However, the gameamkers also decided they wanted an affordable price on its game, which will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points (or about $10).

While it’ll provide no-frills action, Hoyt pointed out one more thing that it will offer: if you download the trial version, you’ll be able to play multiplayer games as a tryout—a rarity for XBLA games. Paramount and developer Naked Sky (RoboBlitz) wants to make sure you get a good feel for its gameplay and the level of competition it offers.

Be sure to check out our full review of Star Trek: D-A-C after the game’s release date has been finalized.

Tower Bloxx Deluxe XBLA Bound?
http://www.gamerbytes.com/2009/04/tower_bloxx_deluxe_xbla_bound.php
A recent update to the Korean game rating boards has revealed that Tower Bloxx Deluxe might be on its way to the Xbox Live Arcade.

Created by Digital Chocolate, Tower Bloxx is a popular casual game that's made its way to many mobile systems, iPhone as well as Facebook. It's a somewhat simple puzzle game where you drop floors onto a building making it taller and taller - and the taller it gets the more it sways around. You can then build a city and gain the most amount of people you can or try and create the tallest building possible.

You can check out a trailer for the PC version here. While this not complete confirmation our previous hint with Fatal Fury: MOTW coming to XBLA via the Korean rating board was correct, and this seems like something that would definitely work in the XBLA's favour for small casual games like this.
