Yeah what's up with that Ooga game? Very strange but the demo almost has me paying $10 for it. Not sure if it's the same makers as Cloning Clyde but it has the same goofy look.
It's just so odd I might have to bite.

Both Cloning Clyde and Ancients of Ooga were a joint production between J Kenworthy Entertainment and Ninjabee.

I really liked the AoO demo. Lots of content, had a weird sort of low fi charm to it, I liked the mechanics. Puzzles seemed pretty easy but the impression the achievements give me is that the demo was only the tip of the iceberg.

I tried it last night, it just didn't appeal to me. I'm a big Abe's Odysee fan which is one of their influences, but the presentation of this game just didn't do it for me.

Also I didn't like that that the ground is a plane with a foreground and a background, so you can walk towards or away from the screen. I'd have rather it have just been a more traditional 2D.

Theres a video about upcoming stuff on the XBL Marketplace on the dash, and it shows what next weeks deals of the week will be:

Week of July 5th:
Megaman 10 - 400 points
Afterburner Climax - 400 points
Scrap Metal - 800 points

Sweet, probably pick up Afterburner. Hopefully they look at these sales they're having and see guys like me, who used to buy a lot but haven't recently, are on a game-per-week or better pace since they started getting into price-cutting with both feet.

Climax offer already? 800 was already a steal!

Probably get Afterburner myself

PD's Agent 4 is Active PD's Agent 4 is Active

Remember back in March this year we released Perfect Dark for Xbox Live Arcade? Yes? In that case, it probably hasn't escaped your attention that there's another big first-party Xbox 360 game out very soon which also features Agents thundering around the place discharging a mighty arsenal of weapons. We bring this up now because there's a certain connection in place between Crackdown 2 and Perfect Dark that you may not know about.

In a nutshell: buried within Perfect Dark XBLA is a playable character known as Agent 4. If you own PD, and you're planning to pick up Crackdown 2, this feisty black-suited gun nut will soon be under your command. When Perfect Dark detects a Crackdown 2 save file on your device, it'll automatically make Agent 4 available for use in the Perfect Dark Combat Simulator (aka the multiplayer modes). No further cost involved. Not a bad deal! And it's nothing to do with Stop 'n' Swop so don't call it that.

Crackdown 2 is released in the US on July 6th, Asia Pacific/Australia/NZ on the 8th and Europe on the 9th (although the demo's out now if you fancy a taste). Suit up and share the run 'n' gun love with our Perfect Dark crossover combatant.

For anyone on the fence about afterburner, get it. It's awesome in ways that modern games are afraid to be, with super cheesy dialogue and an awesome soundtrack. The game looks fantastic in motion. Sega blue skies forever.

Already have Afterburner, was totally worth it at 800, but I'll definitely be picking up MM10.
Same.

Any word on when Limbo will be released? Besides "Summer"?

1200 points sounds pretty damn steep. Hopefully there is enough gameplay there - but the style of the game is simply stunning.

It's part of the SOA lineup, which is set to start sometime this month. I'm guessing that it will be the second to last game released, so I'm betting it will drop maybe the second week of August (assuming that SOA starts in the middle of July).

I'll probably get MM10. It seems to me that MM9 never had a sale. Am I wrong about that? I thought for sure they'd drop the price of 9 in the time just before 10 released, but they didn't.

Nah, it never did. The price drop pre-10 was never gonna happen, I imagine for most people that didn't love and therefore own MM9 already, owning 9 would've then been enough, and a sale on 9 would have stopped people buying 10, rather than encouraging them to.

Makes sense. It seems the general consensus is 9 is better than 10 but that both are good games. Think I'll be getting MM10 and AB Climax.

I can't recall the last time I bought an XBLA game on release or at full price. It seems like I can just wait for sales and something worthwhile comes along every few few weeks. I'll bite on almost anything for five bucks. Love this platform.

I was just playing sonic and knuckles on live arcade as knuckles for the first time and it seems they replaced egg robo with robotnik, does anyone know why they did this?

Edit: I guess it glitched... I just replayed it and it's fine. And I think they achievement for having starting the game once as each character is glitched since I've done that...

400 points is a steal for Afterburner Climax. Everyone should get it now. It's an amazing arcade game.

yep... games like this is the reason why XBLA was made.

now we just need a real crazy taxi for xbla (not a dreamcast port)

Limbo looks amazing, but a 20$ game that only lasts 3-4 hours doesn't do the game any justice.

Where is it confirmed that Limbo will be 1600 MS points?

Do we have information about the prices of the other Summer Games?

I remember hearing it was 1200 points. I'm Canadian, so 1200 point is 20 bucks over here :(.

Has there been any news on that yugioh game for xbla? All I remember was an announcement, and a leaked offscreen youtube video showing it being played, looked pretty done.

Yugioh isn't really my first pick for a card game, but the magic xbla is kinda slow and clunky, and I doubt WoTC will ever allow a full on magic game with deck building as long as magic online exists in some form.

If you're paying $20 for 1200 points you're doing it wrong :)

Points cards are quite frequently available for at least 10% off, which makes the points just over $5 per 400. You can also sometimes grab them for 20% off... and occasionally even less (picked up two 1400 cards for $20 in a Toys R Us sale/price error a few weeks back)

I'm trying to figure out how many points cards to buy for the next few weeks. Do we know the prices of the summer of arcade games yet?

I presume they're 1200 points a piece.

I tend to go on XBLA binges and I buy a few games at once. I should really start buying more since there are so many good ones out now, and I finally have a hard drive to hold them.

I downloaded the trial for Risk and it was pretty damn fun. I only played the board game once and this made me want to get one to play. The XBLA felt like a simplified RTS game to me. I like that though, easy to jump in and have fun with.

I'm going to try out Toy Soldiers next.

Toy Soldiers is one of the best games on XBLA.

Risk Factions if so good.
After losing a battle 12 vs 3 (with missile aid), I promptly quit, rated it one star and deleted the trial from my hdd. I've always laughed when people claimed the ai cheated in Puzzle Quest and Cataan, but this was pure bs.
