I just downloaded a trial of Zuma...what a cool game :D

As much as I'm impressed with the 360 lineup, XBL Arcade seems to be getting almost as much of my attention
 
Hey DopeyFish, whats your secret on getting 100+ Points in the Wiks loop challenge thing?
I can only seem to be able to do 2 loops if I'm lucky and 3 if I'm really lucky.

did you watch the demonstration movie when it said "it seems you're having problems with looping!"

i found that a massive help as i went from 2 loops to 50 loops

also there's successive loops on different objects which will then score you 4 points a loop and if you do a loop on the top pier you get 3 points, if you have 2.5 seconds air time before doing another loop you get 4 points bonus
 
I counted the amount of Robotron buys, 1710. Current lowest score, 300. :lol

Robotrons fun. Some nice achievements, but you can probably get most of them after trying only a couple of times. Getting the 100 Waves achievement is probably never gonna happen though, the guy in first hasn't even gotten to 30.

I remember playing this game on one of the Midway arcade classics. All I can say is how in the hell is anyone ever going to get to wave 100?! Thats impossible, I remember spending hours competing with my buddy for a high score in Robotron, I can barely take the default spot on the #1 in game scoreboard. Oh well, I did get a decent amount of achievements within 5 minutes of playing the game. Great game btw. :)
 
True. What would be a good percentage to subtract from the number? 10%? That make it around 1500, x$5, that's $7500. You think it cost that much to make? The porting, probably not, but adding the Live play might've made the cost go up. I'd really like this arcade thing take off though.

Yeah I saw that you just bought the game SocalRider/Icedragon. The trick to get the best score is to get as many as the people as possible in the levels with those braniac guys. After 5 people saved, each one is 5000 points. The brainiac stages have like 15 guys to pick up, so if you survive that level and get most of them, that's like 4 free lives right there. And you get those levels every 5 waves.

I was just playing this on ps2 last night, and it's insanely difficult. I can't imagine anyone getting to wave 100 - that's beyond crazy! What's the high score so far that's been posted?

Nearly 700000, but he hasn't even gotten the Wave 30 achievement. I'm in 26th right now and I got a bit over 300000.

Man, wish I had a 360. I'm assuming the ps2 version is pretty much identical to the 360 version. My high score on the ps2 version is around 270,000.
 
It isn't that high in this version, it's around 180000. It gives you 10 points achievement, so it isn't so bad. No one on Live competition though.

Eh, its has multiplayer, but it isnt really the best.
 
I have played Robotron on the X-Box 360 more than Tiger Woods or NBA2K6 combined...

And you know what... I love it...

I am ranked #3 in Ranked Versus mode... NICE!

I am ranked was #100 in Single-Player High Score mode... COOL!

And... I am ranked #5 in Co-Op online mode... NICE!
 
Man I hope that Lumines rumor is true,I got rid of my psp and thats the one thing I miss about not owning it.
 
Just go to Memory and find it in your hard drive. You can delete them, but not the record that you played them, so they're still on your list as 0 out of 200 achievement score games even after you get rid of them.

Yah, that kind of sucks. Especially since retail games have more potential points then arcade games. For instance I rented COD2... finished the training and returned the game. I got a whopping 50/1000 points. However, I have 4 arcade games, and they only get 200 gamer points each. So my arcade total is 380/800 points. 380/800 is a hell of a lot better than 430/1800. I deleted my COD2 save file, but the achievements are still there.
 
The trial games should not be listed IMO, only the ones you bought
 
I think its because the demos we buy are the full version, they're just locked up. They gotta fix this error though, as it fucks up your gamer-score. I didn't download Spades or Hearts because of this problem, who knows, maybe I would've gotten hooked on it, but the point problem made me not even bother. Console demos don't have this problem.
 
Something lame about Ranked Robotron battle. I was winning in points against the guy, but then I ran out of men. I got the win??!? What? Even though I was the one who died first, I was ahead in points so I got the win. That's pretty lame.

Also, any idea why my ranked battles aren't leading to me being ranked?!? I've played 7 games and I'm still not in the ranked vs list. There are people with 1 game on there, why aren't I?
 
Yeah DopeyFish and I were doing some Co-op on Robotron yesterday and for some reason we weren't getting any score after getting to wave 7. Weird.
 
Hey Jesiatha (or anyone that would know),

Last Sunday my Xbox busted and I had to send it in. On Saturday morning, they sent me a new unit. I re-DLed all my previously purchased Live Arcade games, but when I go to play them while offline, they turn into the demo versions. I have to be online to play the full versions. The new game I purchased on Saturday (Robotron) does allow me to play offline. Any idea what's causing this? Will I ever be able to play my previously purchased games while offline?

For some reason, I got rank from unranked games, and no rank from ranked games. That's weird.
 
Ok I just discovered Versus Match on Robotron. That just made the game so much better for me now. So far I'm 2-0 everyone seems to get a gameover before I lose my first life. Any one from GAF care to challenge me? =)
 
Me an Ice Dragon played a bit, mostly co-op. Its fun but you can't get very far, though we are currently 3rd and 4th on the co-op boards. We were really close to 1/2, just pixels away from a 5000 point female clone before losing our last man. So sad :lol

And yes, for some reason, ranked games don't give you rank. Some weird bug I guess, it seems like a pretty obvious miss though... but I just got a rank of 5 but I didn't get the achievement, wtf?!? How the hell do you get the Versus achievement?! Also, I currently have a 9 and 0 record, yet the guy above me has a 7 and 0 record. The big WTF on Robotron's online scoring.

Not yet. I was kind of just glad to have a working console again. If I don't hear anything back over the next couple days, I'll call support back. They were extremely helpful in getting me a new system fast, but I'll be damned if that phonecall wasn't hell on earth.

Lots of people played gauntlet when the system first released but the limit of 1 credit per player in multiplayer seemed to kill the game.
 
What I do to check my RANKED VS record is when I go to Leaderboards... I use the left-trigger and click once... this will bring you to the VS RANKED board.

Now move left or right to check Your Score, Top Scores, and Friends Score

I was #1 when I went to bed last night, I overtook GreenLantern... NICE!
 
So did you get the Rank 5 achievement by the Ranked games or just normal versus games? Cause it seems only normal versus games go on my record. I've won 9 normal verses and 6 ranked games, no losses (:D) and I still don't have that achievement. Its a bit frustrating.
