Are Live downloads usually slow as all living hell, or is my bandwidth on it limited by using the old Xbox wireless adapter ?

Will using a 360 wireless adapter fix slow downloads are are they basicly the same ?

Adding or upgrading your adapter will not help. The XBL downloads have traditionally been very slow. I heard that the speeds dramatically improved last week, but whatever they did might have been nullified by the recent reset.

Upgrading to a "G" will help with streaming audio. Upgrading to "A" would only be necessary for Media Center.

Holy shit, dude, I just found out downloaded demo iso's are fully playable with a 360, no modchip or bootdisk needed.

I downloaded all the demos today. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet as fucking apple pie baby....................

Huh? Content can be pulled from the X360 HDD now...?

no, he is talking about isos of demo disks like the full auto demo from oxm and the kiosk demo disk.

Most of the demos can just be downloaded off the marketplace anyway

COD2
King Kong
Full Auto

All demos I found (somewhere online) that boot from a DVDr or CDr with no mod chip or bootdisk needed.

Verified and working trial or demo games ONLY.

Dammit, the leaderboard wipe and restore ate my Hexic score I posted on the 31st. I went from 350k to 520k, and now it's gone. =(

And the Geometry Wars leaderboard still isn't back, although I nearly matched my previous high of 740k with a score of 712k tonight.

Tonite I spent some time playing a 4-player Hearts game with some of the TehBias crew (it is excellent that the game allows players to join in-progress and replace a CPU player instead of waiting forever in the lobby for the game to end).

I know some people think it is silly to use a new $400 360 and spend time playing a $5 4-player Hearts game, but sometimes it is nice to play a game where you can just kick back and chill. Sure, if I had a bunch of friends that played Hearts with voice chat on the PC it would make console Hearts superfluous, but that's not the case for me. If I get a few hours of nice social play out of the game, I consider it money well spent.

I hadn't played Hexic for a couple weeks, so tonight I decided to chill out with it for a bit in hopes that the Geometry Wars leaderboards will be restored soon... Figured I'd go for the Tick-Tock Doc achievement, but ended up dying 10,000 points shy. :'( But it wasn't all for naught -- I got the Collapse Master while going for the other one. Woo!

So I guess there's still no ETA on Crystal Quest or Marble Blast Ultra, huh?

I'm still waiting on Hexic being available for download..."Early January" is what I heard on the official Xbox forums...

By March, we'll be proud to announce that more than 20 games will be available through Xbox Live Arcade, games like Streetfighter 2 from Capcom, games like Texas Hold 'Em and Marble Blast Ultra. Texas Hold 'Em will be the first fully sponsored game on Xbox Live Arcade, sponsored by our partners at (River Vail ?).

Xbox Live marketplace and Xbox Live Arcade are proof positive that high definition content delivery via the Internet is real and it's happening right now.

:D

He say that at CES or what? I would care about SF2 if I wasn't waiting for them to get SFAC on BC. Still I would buy SF3S from the Arcade for $15 especially if they improved the netcode.

I completely missed the Texas Hold 'Em announcement. It was drowned out by GAF screams after Street Fighter 2 was uttered.

Awesome news. But what does "fully sponsored" mean? More features? Live tournaments and the such?

Hopefully it means MS can skirt the whole gambling, money, and taxes issue. Let some offshore company deal with that stuff.

Counting Hexic, that means there will be five new games between now and March, four of which are known already (Crystal Quest, Marble Blast, Texas Hold 'Em, Street Fighter 2). Six if you don't count Hexic. I guess that's not bad, but I'm really hoping for somewhere around 3-4 new games per month.

yeah it'd make sense if it was free. it'd probably the #1 downloaded game and this river vail company will have their logo spewed everywhere. would be pretty freaking cool.

Hyper Fighting? WTF? Is that the best they could do? That's the original!

Why don't they have SFII Turbo at least?

Bleh, Hyper Fighting is just Champion Edition, isnt it? They should have put in The New Challengers at least

I hated Super Street Fighter... well sorta... SF2 vanilla/turbo >>>>>>> any other street fighter.

Yeah I would have liked The New Challengers too. I wonder how much Capcom will charge for this? I'm willing to spend 800 points to play this online. Hopefully the online component isn't shoddy.

I may have to buy that DoA4 stick now to use wiht that game and SF2. I don't like the 360 dpad.

Hyper Fighting is all 5 games rolled into one.

(meaning you can face off cheap ass Guile from World Warrior against cheap ass Bison from Champion Edition)

Oh really? So does it have Cammy? Does it have Super Combos. Does it have throw recovery?

Yes, but only if you pick a "Super" or "Super Turbo" character. Its the one from SF:Anniversary Collection, although by the description above they seem to be adding stuff to it. Basically, you pick which version of a character you want, then the character.

Cool, I played the AC version. It rocked.

No, that's Hyper Anniversary. Hyper Fighting == Up from Champion Edition. Unless someone can confirm it's actually Hyper Anniversary (Which would be better thanks to Super Turbo), I'm going to just believe it's only Hyper Fighting.

Oh, well that's weird. Capcom Arcade Collections also had Hyper Anniversary so I don't know what exactly we're getting. Probably won't know until it pops up on the list.

What the deuce? It did? I thought it just had SF2, Champion Edition and something else. Then again, I didn't pay attention to it :X

*Goes to look*

Ok. Capcom Classic Collection had SF2, SF2CE and SF2HF. No anniversary there. Hyper Anniversary was released seperately on PS2 in Japan and then again here as part of the Anniversary Collection with 3rd Strike.

So yeah, this is going to be just SF2 Hyper Fighting.

The version of SFII featured in the Anniversary Collection was cool, but didn't really do much for me. The ability to mix characters from different revisions was sort of dumb, especially since the CPU would always use the Super Turbo version. And the AI was SO much cheaper than it ever was in the original versions.

I really hope that this is a straight port of the arcade SFIIT, similar to Smash TV (other features like co-op are handled in an external menu before launching). Just gives the game a more classic feel.

I think most SF purists agree SF Turbo Hyperfighting was the pinnacle of the SF2 series. No supers, but fast gameplay, and great balance among the characters. This is a 360 killer app for many of my Street Fighter buddies. Now we need to figure out if it's possible to custom make an arcade stick, because I'd like a true American arcade stick, not the Hori.

Looks like Marble Blast has been moved to February. I think they are really scrutinizing them now after the busted ass card games, the unattainable achievements in Outpost Kaloki X, and the hacking of Hexic.
