If we don't see marble blast this week (which was susposed be out before Dec 24th) publishers must seriously be iffy about releasing stuff now instead of later.

Finished Adventure mode of Mutant Storm Reloaded last night so I downloaded Zuma. Couldn't play with the sound, but it still seems good so far. Love the levels where the balls go under ground and over bridges and stuff.

Why would they be, out of curiosity? Because of the shortages? I'd think it's almost always best to get your product out sooner than later as long as you're not making (too many) compromises.

I started Adventure mode a couple of nights ago and for some reason after I finished the 89 levels it didnt register any scores or achievements and my score didnt move after the first couple of levels. WTF happened?! :(

Yeah, I figure the Live Arcade games probably will be the type of games to keep selling well at a more consistant rate. I might be wrong, but I just don't see a reason why games will slow down selling until it starts to get overflooded (I predict in a year).

Strangely enough, I think I've gotten a few achievements in Zuma that haven't shown yet, either. I'm PRETTY sure I've beaten the 100 coins requirement, unless they want you to get 100 coins in a single play. But it doesn't say that and the gap requirement wasn't like that, either.

Exactly...its not like they have to risk unsold copies, or worry about stocking the shelves.

I just thought of something.

Imagine Arkanoid...that utilizes your widescreen TV.

ZOMG.

If I had a dev kit I'd make it right now. With Co-op multiplayer to boot.

I didn't understand the 100 coins / 100 gaps achievement either. I'm sure I got triple that, but I just got them eventually. I think they're 100 coins in Adventure mode only, Gauntlet doesn't count. Could be wrong though.

Is the 2 million point one Adventure Mode in one play through, or cummulative of each stage Gauntlet mode (which getting 2-3 million seems to be a decent challenge)? So unclear :S

?? How did you reach taht conclusion?

Marble Blast apparently failed to pass certification and was delayed until February

Seems like 2 million might be Adventure Mode, and if that's the case...looking at the leaderboards, only one person ever has achieved it, I think.

And I was getting all of the coins in Adventure, as well. I was starting from the lower levels and working my way up to around level 7/8. I'm pretty sure I remember getting 40 or so coins on each run. That, plus other coins I've picked up in other plays should be at least 100. I do hope that in future 360/Arcade games, achievements will have more concise descriptors.

When I get home from work I'll check the leaderboards and look for who has that 2 million achievement.

Very true, there are more than a few achievements where you have no clue exactly the 'rules' to get them. The ones I hate the most though are the "secret" ones. I also want them to put a stop to achievements that are impossible to achieve. Beating Smash TV in one credit? Wave 100 in Robotron? Are you inSANE!?

The guy at the top of the SmashTV leaderboard has levels 1, 2 and 3 completed on one credit just not all in the same run I guess

Oh really? Okay maybe I was wrong, it might just be possible. Sounds like he made it to the "10 minute room" where enemies just keep pouring out (after the 3rd stage boss) and lost it there.

I'm sure some guy was able to do it in the 80s or whatever, and they put it up there. Crazy decision, but if, IF someone does eventually get the achievement, that's like the most major bragging rights EVER!

God I hope there isn't gonna be a 360 mod that allows you to unlock achievements without doing anything. But I know eventually... :(

EDIT - I just checked, I've almost posted 100 times in this thread... :lol I'll lay off for a while.

My friend just got a 360 and damn am I impressed. Wasn't even thinking of getting one, now I'm sorting the money out in my head to see if I can swing one right now. Live Arcade is SWEET. I've read the hype about Geometry Wars, and damn is it warranted. Marble Blast looks like Marble Madness! Probably one of my favorite NES games.

The only thing holding me back is my television. I only have a 20" Toshiba flat screen (though it does have component input). I know I'm going to be wanting a nice HD set if I get a 360, but I can't possibly swing both of those at this time.

$40 VGA cable kit + your PC monitor = X360 HD gaming on the cheap.

I have a laptop though, so no go with that.

I'll probably just save up and buy one eventually. My friend who bought the 360 just got a Panasonic 26" HD for $385. 360 looks phenomenal on it. I'll figure I'll wait until around November and get a comparable set for around $330 or so.

I'm running mine on a 24" Toshiba flat screen through component and the games still look phenomenal. Not as good as HD of course, but I'm sure you'll be fine until you can pickup an HD set.

I got my first Black Pearl last night and was nearly beside myself with excitement. I don't know what it is, but Hexic really hits this bizarre sweet spot of puzzle game goodness that I haven't felt in years.

MARBLE BLAST ULTRA IS OUT!

impressions NOW!! please? i'm at work. =[

this will be a good day if the full auto demo comes out as well.... *crosses fingers*

Its the best version of Marble Blast yet. The checkpoints help a lot in making the game less frustrating. The graphics are pretty slick. Only thing that bothers me right this moment is the loading which is longer than it should be.

Still considering if I want to buy the full version.

I just finished all the beginner levels. It's pretty simple you control the marble with the left stick and the camera with the right, and to jump is either A or Left Trigger. The stages have the same colors and background (at least from what I've seen), but of course the table changes. There's also powerups that you use with the Right Trigger like a boost or super jump. It's a really fun game so far, and isn't frustrating at all (it probably will be once you get to the advanced levels). I haven't tried the multiplayer but if anyone wants to go my gamertag is Chickengrease.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. It's not terrible but it varies alot of the time. Some levels take 1-2 seconds while others can take 8-10.

thanks for the impressions guys. graphically, any screen tearing or framerate issues? or we talking the full 60fps like almost all XBLA games?

no screentearing yet. framerate seems smooth, but I dunno if it is 60 fps (only played 2 minutes and I didn't pay that much attention to the framerate yet).

Framerate is smooth... think its 60. Tearing on the other hand I don't really notice unless its VERY bad so I can't comment on that. Image quality impressed me quite a bit, its one of the sharper, clean edged titles.

Marble Blast is great fun online. Scuffing and shuffling with no whining! I hope the online part doesn't turn into a ghost town anytime soon

I like! Quite fun. Like Super Monkey Ball without the cartooniness but with better physics. Seems like it's relatively short, though. 20 levels beginner, 20 intermediate and 20 difficult.

The game came out an hour or so ago and already I'm placing somewhere between 80th-120th on each level scoreboard. :P

And as Mr. Lemming mentioned, it really does seem very sharp and bright in HD. More so than most other games besides Wik and Geo Wars. Nice job!

Already unlocked 3 achievements. :D Musashi, Krypt, whoever - look me up for some multiplayer so i can give that a shot.

Arrrrrg, I won't be able to check it out until I get home from classes at around 10pm.

What's the pricing on the game?

I gave you call about it earlier, so it'll be old news when you hear it.

But it's always nice to hear my charming voice.

Your new voice message is so gloomy -- cheer up!
