The multiplayer in golf may be broken =\. Gowans has been kicked out of my game once, and the console has frozen the other two times i tried to start a game. The one where gowans got kicked worked though.

Edit: worked fine when he hosted. Maybe I just suck.

Why the **** doesn't Gyruss have the original music? I know it's hard for Digital Eclipse to do anything well, but this is sad even for them.

Tell me you're joking? I've just downloaded the demo but wife is playing Zuma so I haven't tried it yet.

There's zero reason Gyruss should have lost the music, and you should be able to use "Enhanced" or "regular" since it's a Konami classic. The music ITSELF is a rearranged classical piece, so there should be no licensing issues as they had with frogger. Konami even still has the rights to that music, evidenced by its recent inclusion in DDR games as well.

Let me know which it is, since my 360 is not hooked up atm

Well I've played them both and have promptly deleted them. Bring on Double Dragon I say. Again.

Minigolf is much much better online. Me gowens and his friend had a hell of a time with all the crazy stuff the game throws at you. Its not a science or anything but its a fun game and for 10 bucks and playing for 2 and a half hours, it was worth the same as a movie.

What ? LOL :lol

Who cares ? It's Gyruss, the music didn't make the game anyways.

Don't try to talk sense with XBLA haters. They have made up their mind that they want ONE SINGLE GAME and until they get that game, every other game will be deemed crap so they can go post "This week was crap. Bring on X already!"

It's really getting quite old.

The music made the game for me and was one of the reasons it is one of my favorite games. No original music = AWFUL!

Actually the new music in Gyruss is pretty nice. It has that retro 80's keyboard sound going on in it which pretty much is a good fit for a remixed track. I wish they had included the original as well but its not gonna break the game for me. They didn't butcher the game(which is whats the important thing overall.) Still no full screen support either. I guess 5 bucks doesn't quite go as far as it use to.:lol

Yeah, first thing I did was set the graphics to original but the music was still 'enhanced'. There's no audio option in the pause screen Settings menu. Maybe there's one in the main menu Settings, but you can't access that unless you buy the game, and I'm sure as hell not spending money on a Digital Eclipse port ever again.

Is it completely different music or what? Because it was a very famous classical piece, is it just something different entirely?

Its the same exact piece. Its still very catchy, just add a drum machine to the mix now. It has more of a pop sound with the keyboards where in the old version it sorta rocked more. But if youre worried about the music being trashy its really not. Its pretty much the same note for note composition.

I agree with the posts above... the original music makes these games... Frogger is playable, but without the music it feels like a clone.

I will download Gyruss tonight, but the original music made the game for me...

Why do they do this? Change the music for enhanced, but keep the original music with the original graphics version...

Oh well, I will play it on MAME... I actually forgot about Gyruss and have never played it on MAME.

I don't mind the music in Gyruss being changed, it's more modern and fits with the new graphics, what I don't like is the inability to select the original music at all...No excuse for that really, but that still doesn't make the game unenjoyable...

As for 3D Ultra Mini Golf I just hit number one on the Explorer Course leaderboards with -45. :D

Cooperative play is messed up. They split the screen for both players verticaly. What happens is you don't get a full screen when you both play. When you scroll around the screen(the minute your ship heads left,it disapears and goes off screen:/

Maybe its because I'm playing in 720P on a non 16:9 monitor? I'll try to lower the resolution to 480P and see if the problem persists. There was some noticeable lag with the game too,but my partners ping was in the red so that probably has something to do with it. Overall its still Gyruss but no its not perfect.

Nevermind-the screen is fixed now. I reduced my resolution to 480P and can see the ship anywhere on screen now. Then again I didn't choose the option in settings to stretch the screen either(whereas I did everytime before) so that could be why its working well now.

So, what's going to sell better today? Mini Golf or Gyruss?

Anyone with both want to give us a peek at the length of the leaderboards?

You can Chnage the Music to Original while keeping the Graphics Enhanced and vica versa, just have to go to the Settings menue before you start a Game. Music and Graphics each have seperate Setting in there.

3D mini golf probably have the easiest arcade achievements to date. Only took me 1,5 hours to get them all.

Nah, New Rally-X took me about 15 min to get the 200 pts. There are plenty of easy retro as well, like Ms.Pac-man.

Glad I'm not the only one who always felt that. The music was like 50% of the reason I loved the game.

Oh shite, your right... To be honest I didn't even bother to check the settings option before jumping in to the game and using the in game settings to adjust the screen size before playing, and just assumed the other guys were right that it's missing.

Thanks for pointing that out...

I agree about the music in games. THats what attracted me to Gyruss back when it was released and thats what probably made me purchase it too, along with Boom Boom Rocket as it has a remixed version of the same piece.

The Minigolf game is actually quite cool. I played a few holes, then handed it over to my daughter before coming into work today. She got the hang of it pretty quickly and was having fun. I noticed you can change the way you control the swing, but haven't tinkered with that yet. It seems to be pretty fully-featured - different characters, outfits, a good chunk of holes and courses, online and offline play, different modes. Pretty meaty stuff for $10. I'm actually looking forward to getting back to it tonight.

Speaking of that, when my kids get a bit older, I have to train them to get me some achievements :)

The Mini-golf is pretty good. But **** those beavers on the second hole, **** them in their ass. I wanted to go Happy Gilmore on them after they knocked my ball out of bounds 5 times.

A couple of updates on ESRB

Pac-Man: Championship Edition Namco Bandai E No Descriptors Xbox 360

Prince of Persia Classic Ubisoft T Blood, Violence Xbox 360

Mini Golf = Yuck, I'll wait for more impressions.

Based on the free trial, it has a horribly limited camera. Hole overview would have been helpful. The strength meter is pointless, as anything over 1/4th power will throw you out of bounds or bring you back to the tee(and I tried all three control schemes). Environmental objects obscure the hole/flag, requiring blind shots. And areas of the trial holes that appear flat are not, ****ed up physics all around to be honest.

I know this is an arcade title and simplicity is key, but it is bare bones to the point of frustration.

yech. another PacMan?!

Prince of Persia (if it is in fact the 2d version) would be super awesome. I remember running out to the game stores in college to buy it. Great game.

Pac Man World Championship? I have no idea what that could be. The official press release announcing the tournament doesn't mention anything about a new version of Pac Man hitting the Marketplace. In fact, it seems to go against the idea of another Pac Man game saying, "Gamers who want to start practicing can download “Pac-Man” (400 Microsoft Points) now from Xbox LIVE Arcade on the Xbox 360."

Any idea what this is, Arne?

Not only is the updated music lame, but the enhanced graphics are an eyesore and the game is too choppy to enjoy in either enhanced or original graphics.

This is a terrible port, not worth a purchase. The ColecoVision version was superior to this abomination.

Ahh, that was actually the best case scenario :D Thanks!

The original graphics and music are a perfect port. They're absolutely exactly as they were in the arcades. How is that a BAD PORT? Don't like the updated graphics and music?, turn them off.

I'm guessing Pacman World Championship is a free XBLA, only for the duration of the contest. Anyone can enter...I mean come on, it's freakin Pac Man. I seriously doubt they'll charge people to enter. It's pretty weird to release a special edition of it too
