How do guys like Stainless get business and even exist nowadays?

I'm guessing by doing things really cheaply and quickly. imo it's a terrible business model and a dilution of IP goodwill, but I didn't sign up to be an exec to make these sharp decisions. It also has a negative effect on the perception of XBLA, which is pretty harmful to a nascent system.

Today, Load Inc. announced Mad Tracks PC trial version was downloaded by 1.2 million PC enthusiasts and over 630.000 Xbox 360™ fans.

‘Mad Tracks’, the toy car arcade game everyone is praising has passed the 1.8 million download mark of its trial version. The game is still available online at www.loadinc.net and on the Xbox360™ Live Arcade.

“This goes to show that mid price casual titles now constitute a grown up market” said Denis Bourdain of Load Inc. “sales have surpassed our expectations both in retail and direct download”. Mad Tracks PC has been released in early 2006 in Europe and the Xbox 360™ Live Arcade version hit marketplace worldwide in June 2007. It’s now turn for America.

“Most people who played this game are telling us their life is better now and that they have more friends” says Thomas Leinekugel, VP project manager at Load Inc. – the information has not been formally verified but we’re pretty confident it’s true.

I just got the SF jones.... I played this arcade unit they have at Coscto with SF and ive been itching to play again. Ive heard Street Fighter Aniversary is good so ill probably get that instead.

Yeah, get Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection instead. Hyper Fighting is a pretty bad port.

Red Card Given to Sensible Soccer (Pulled from Marketplace)

Player given a Red card uh oh... the internet has exploded as Sensible Soccer has been pulled from marketplace due to a bug that will automagically sign the user out of Live when they boot up the game. No word on when it will return, but hopefully it won't be long as I am dying to play this title. According to GameIndustry.biz, this issue was introduced due to the wrong version of the title being uploaded to Xbox Live Marketplace.

Also of note is that the game will feature advertising powered by Massive Incorporated. Now why would a retro title that costs $10 possibly need more revenue? Especially from a company that has announced that it's had it's best financial results ever. Oh well, hopefully we won't be seeing any CompUSA ads.

Do you feel that the introduction of advertisements in Sensible Soccer is something that will upset the average XBLA player?

Bomberman to Get 3rd Bomb Up Pack


REDWOOD SHORES, CA - December 19, 2007 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for Hudson Soft, today announced that they are releasing Bomb-Up Pack 3, the third add-on pack for their "IGN Editor's Choice Award"-winning Bomberman LIVE game for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. This new add-on pack will add more than a dozen new features, including ten new characters, two additional levels, two new leaderboards, and a brand new game mode. Bomb-Up Pack 3 is expected to launch on December 26 and will cost 250 Microsoft Points.

With these latest additions, players will be able to further enjoy the non-stop, explosive action of Bomberman LIVE in new arenas, including "Cavity Land," a delicious candy land, and the fully-automated assembly lines of "Robot Factory."

This Bomberman LIVE add-on pack will add the following features:

. Ten New Characters - With new characters like "Shinobi Bomb" the ninja and "Bomb2-D2" the robot, players can customize their in-game Bomberman in even more new ways.

. Two Additional Levels - New arenas include "Cavity Land," a sugary sweet candy land, and the industrial "Robot Factory." Both levels allow users to select any gimmick to use.

. One New Game Mode - In "Friendly Fire," there's no place to hide as you race to get the most frags. Players start with the "power bomb"power-up and hard blocks are replaced by holes, leaving nothing to stop explosions, except Bombermen!

. Two New Leaderboards - Gaze down upon the Bomberman masses from atop two new ranking systems on the Xbox LIVE network. The new leaderboards will track performance on both a weekly and an all-time basis for the new "Friendly Fire" game mode.

War Angels coming to XBLA

Mr Robot and Starscape developers Moonpod have announced that their long in development title, War Angels will now be co-developed by Hail of Bullets Software. The reason for this changes is so that they will be able to create an Xbox 360 version of the title. If the title has not yet been approved by the Live Arcade team, let's hope that this sure fire, quality title will be able to sneak it's way onto the service and not become a PSN exclusive like Everday Shooter.
