It's been a while since we heard much about N+ -- a fact we pointed out during the latest edition of Ask X3F. The last we heard of the puzzle-platformer, it was set to release sometime during either December or January. That gives us just two more weeks before the game slips into the black hole of "to be announced." We do know he game has passed certification though, so it shouldn't be too long before it's released. Whenever the game does come out, we are happy to report that the multiplayer modes the developers hinted at way back when the game was announced have been confirmed. The revelation comes by way Achieve360Points which has posted the list of achievements for the game. The achievements confirm that there will be both co-op and ranked online play, though it's unclear if co-op will online, local, or both. Either way, it's good news and a reason for fans of N to be excited.

Do they intend to release anything this week besides the Free Undertow?
 
They'd be stupid not to release another game on Jan 23rd IMO - it's the best publicity a new XBLA game release could ever hope for. Even if just a fraction of the 10 million XBL members actually bothered to download the free Undertow, that's still a helluva lot of people visiting the XBLA section.
 
Looks like Chessmaster LIVE will be released on the 30th as well.

Ubisoft announced that Chessmaster® LIVE will be available for download on the Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360 on January 30th, 2008.

“Bringing the Chessmaster series to Xbox LIVE Arcade makes the game accessible to a whole new audience,” said Peter Helm, business development associate at Ubisoft. “Chessmaster LIVE is not only a comprehensive chess program, but it is also one that has expanded beyond the traditional game to include exciting features for fans, both old and new.”

Chessmaster LIVE features:
- Hundreds of AI opponents to play in ELO-ranked matches.
- Voice-chat and LIVE Vision capabilities for head-to-head matches.
- New 3D chess sets inspired by luxury board designer, House of Staunton.
- Five original chess variants, including the all-new Message Chess option, which will allow players to engage in a match over the course of days, weeks or even months.

What is sad is you are probably right.

As awesome as Rez is its audience is limited to us cult following lovers of it so I expect chess to destroy it in sales. :(

That said Rez and Meteos are the only two titles that Q Entertainment actually entertained me with so I'll be sure to suck it down the moment it arrives.

Waves is in PGR4 & 400 points would be a little much for that but Geo Wars 2 ???

hmmm wish I had partnernet :( sounds like something new, the leaderboard stress could being all over again :D

Very interesting. Bizarre has been rumored to be working on it for awhile...

Can someone answer how that guy got the release date for Rez HD? I want to believe, but it is so hard.

It does not look like it is Waves (as in PGR4).

Did someone say that they are preparing something special for the 100th Arcade game, that was supposed to be a sequel, but later on everyone forgot about that statement (as the game propably fail behind certification for the 100th date).

And for the people who didn't read that thread but read this one, I re-state that this news story is fake. Oh, the pics are real, but it's just Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. It has always been labeled GW2 on PartnerNet and sometimes when the dashboard glitches out you can see that the game is called GW2 on your console too.

Just like sometimes SWOS shows up as Sensible World of Soccer and then quickly changes back to SWOS. I guess XBLA titles have two title fields in the code or whatever, and sometimes they enter different ones. (There's at least one more title that does this, but I forgot which one it is.)

Schizoid is gonna be totally rad.

I saw it being played and it looked quite awesome. It's a co-op game where one person controls a blue guy and the other person controls an orange guy - you've gotta eat enemies of the same color while avoiding enemies of the opposite color (they chase you down and can kill you). So a lot of teamwork is involved, should be a really fun co-op game.

It sounds simple but there's a lot more to it than that (different enemies, powerups, etc). There's over a hundred levels too IIRC. Easily one of my most anticipated XBLA games.
 
Schizoid looks like a mix of Geometry Wars, flOw, and Ikaruga.

Those shots are actually old unfortunately, but nobody put them up! They're from the Torpex game site and were added last year, IGN added the ones they had missing over the weekend, and I assume X360f did the same :)

Still, I want to see more of this game.
