That particular rumour is hard to trust, because it mostly stems from the fact that Jetpac Refuelled had a bunch of Solar Jetman references. And even though Rare's two biggest hobbies are self-referencing and mindfucking their fans, somehow references in Jetpac just had to mean REMAKE CONFIRMED on the forums...

Hell, I've played it and I laugh at that. The game has, IIRC, pretty good sand deformation and stuff like that, but it's aesthetically...bah. Played okay, though.

Yeah, as I mention - Jetman is almost too similar to JetPac to be a new game on XBLA, when they could just as well recreate another game for the service, or something entirely new. It sort of goes against what Microsoft wants for the service, and doesn't sound like something they'd approve Rare of doing.

I'm starting to think that XBLA should not announce any games until the day before it comes out. Each game release is dwarfed by bellyaching about "X" game thats not out yet. Release Rez: Bitching about Ikaruga. Release Ikaruga: bitching about N+. It's tiresome.

People will always complain.

Any word on when more games will join the Arcade Hits line up? I thought there would've been a couple more games at least, especially since there's already been a couple of games added to the Originals.

Which games do you feel are currently overpriced?

None of them. I just wanted to get Cloning Clive but, being one of the older XBLA games and probably more likely to be an Arcade Hit, I don't want to buy it full price only to find it's half price shortly after.

I agree that they need to reprice/have more sales on these older games. Most of them can't be selling more than a couple copies a week. Have a sale ever few weeks to draw attention to them and bring in more money.

Brought Sonic 2 earlier, playing the game correctly again without level select and other codes felt good, but not as good as sonic 1 imo.

Dispite it selling well the online is dead :( if anyone wants to play VS sometime let me know.

Hey guys, question. I got a friend coming over who likes dungeon crawlers and levelling up so I thought I'd save some points for Arcadian Warriors. I played the trial and thought it was decent, but figured it should be more fun in co-op. So when he comes over and likes the trial, I'm considering just buying it.
How's the full game?

Online was killed for me due to the lag the non-hosting player frequently gets. Emerald Hill can be fun if there's no lag though. But if you just want the achievement or something, I'd be willing to toss myself on some spikes :p

Poker Smash is AWESOME. It feels sorta similar to Tetris Attack/Panel De Pon but it has several new twists. I'm so buying it when I get some money for points.

There is a good chance that this game is in my "so getting bought" pile. I am a bit surprised that Microsoft is listed as the publisher though.

Yeah, Panel de Poker Smash is fun.
I just had a gargantuan ranked match against someone.
Is the idea that you have to keep chipping your opponent's cash down until they drop to 0? It was pretty fast and furious for about 15 minutes... I'm not that good at piling up the combos yet though, seem to be maxing out around 4 :(

If Majesco is on there with Psychonauts and Raze's Hell, hopefully they will get Phantom Dust on there to!

Duke Nukem Forever, XBLA Duke confirmed for 08 [Update]

Update: 3D Realms has informed Shacknews that the release date and platform availability for Duke Nukem Forever were not confirmed in the Dallas Business Journal interview, though the company apparently did not deny the information regarding the XBLA release of Duke Nukem 3D.

Original article: Hot off the presses internets comes word from 3D Realms that Duke Nukem Forever is confirmed for late 2008 release. Hitting Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC it was announced for in 1996, Duke is the daddy of everything vaporware. In an email exchange with the Dallas Business Journal, 3D Realms president Scott Miller confirmed that the long 12-year wait for Duke's return will be over by the end of the calendar year. Miller went on to reiterate, "we may miss the mark by a month or two, but I feel very confident that we're on target this time." Miller also confirmed the existence of the rumored Xbox Live Arcade version of the classic PC title Duke Nukem 3D, which will feature online multiplayer support, leaderboards, and a co-op mode. When asked about a possible release date for the XBLA title Miller said, "we're talking to Microsoft about getting a release slot sometime this year." We're holding our collective breaths.

So Duke Nukem 3D will be released before Duke Nukem Forever? It sounds like some weird prophecy.

Also, I'm downloadin' Poker Smash as we speak. Hopefully the mouth breathers on Gametrailers won't negatively influence sales.

Poker Smash get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was going to be a poker card game, but it turned out to be a sweet little puzzle game. Go buy it!

Video: Butterfly Garden fly, fly away

Gamertag Radio received the latest scoop on Autonomous Productions' fluttery XBLA/ Wiiware release Butterfly Garden and it's fluttering along just "fine". After inspecting what Butterfly Garden has to offer, we're confident in saying that the game's graphics look a lot better since the last time we saw it, but come on ... who are we kidding? Butterfly Garden looks to be a lesser evolved Viva Pinata clone minus the candy bits and injected with beautiful butterfly porn. Hopefully we're wrong about our harsh comments, but it's sort of hard to get excited about a game whose biggest draw is a gold butterfly. What's so damn special about golden butterflies anyway?

They should just make sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles sold seperate, then make free DLC that adds the lock on functionality for like 50 more achievement points :D

I would not be suprised if Sega release sonic 3 and S&K seperate for 400points each but owning both somehow allows S3&k, or they will just sell both together for 800points anyway.

I wish they would do better achievements though, doing act 1 in a fast time is nice but there needs to be more challenge, both sonic 1 and 2 i've 100%'d in like 2 playthru's each.

For example they should have had achievements for beating sonic 2 with tails alone (I did that anyway on my 2nd play) and gaining 30+ lives or something harder then "turn into supersonic" after you just got an achievement for collecting all the emeralds :roll eyes:

But then, multiplayer Duke with my friends would have to be fun.
Multiplayer Duke is insanely fun. The fact that there is no Y-axis for aiming makes it crazy, especially when you've got jet packs and stuff.

While everyone else was busy playing Rez i finally grabbed a some achievements in Arkadian Warriors. So what you see there is me!

Rez HD will stay in the top 10 for a long, long time.

I happen to work on some XBLA charts with numbers, but I don't think I could put the address out here on GAF. Having said that, when Rez HD debuts selling about 4x the units sold of any other game in the past 4 months.....You'll chart for awhile. Heck, 1 month later Metal Slug 3 is still just #3.

Don't you think there is a possibility that sales for Rez might be very front-loaded then?

From what I can tell Poker Smash is doing absolutely fantastic as well. I played a game and was roughly in the mid 4,000s, which is huge considering other quality titles, like Gripshift, took quite a while to reach that mark.

People were practically selling limbs for Rez on Ebay before the secret re-release. It's pretty much the definition of a cult hit. So I can see why the initial sales are so good.

I don't think it will be the next Worms, Bomberman or Uno but I think we will see a long tail effect with Rez. It's going to have respectable sales for a long time.

I'm chomping at the bit to get back into some good ol' Vigilante 8 mayhem. It's weird though how the Luxoflux games got worse over time for me...From the simple funky goodness of V8 to the only OK and overstuffed sequel to the sorta fun Star Wars vehicular game to True Crimes.

Anyway, this will be good stuff with online mp and in hi def to boot.

Right, hot of the heels of finding that other N+ info I have been doing some digging around the dev sites and when I hit the official Metanet forums, I found this thread on top of their news section.

Well, think about it, I doubt Metanet staff are celebrating the release of Commanders: Attack of the Genos.
