Now that's what I'm talking about. About time something came from the Source mod community that actually looked like more than higher res HL1 mods. I hope they see it through to completion, I don't think Valve would interfere with it.

I think Valve had actually planned on it, to have HL1 remake mods popping up. Or at least expected it, form one interview i remember.

What is so impressive about those shots?

I hate mods, any mods for any game, I hate the amateurish crap that floods the internet. I'd rather wait another 5 years for a proper Half-Life 3 than try a single HL2 mod.

And I'm dead serious, I just can't sacrifice quality for quantity.

Carry on with the "hoorays!", guys, I'm just that weird and I know I'm losing some quality, FREE, game experiences out there.

EXCEPTION: I downloaded and tried to play The Darkest Day for BG2 (a huge, 700MB mod).

MEH. It wasn't the real thing. It didn't feel like the real thing.

Without mods PC gaming is not even worthwhile. Mods are what makes games like Morrowind, Oblivion, HL, War3, et al. great. I agree this one doesn't really look good, but there are some dedicated teams pumping out great mods for a variety of games.

Uhh... did you read what this is about? Some enthusiasts doing a remake of Half-Life 1 with proper Half-Life 2 quality production because they felt that Half-Life: Source didn't do justice to the original. It's not away from Half-Life 3 if a bunch are doing a remake of the game they love with their own risk. Jeeez.
