In case you missed it in the other thread, Jonnyram, DCharlie and myself confirmed this morning that the Japanese version of Mr. Driller Drill Spirits for the DS does indeed support one-cart multiplay. Why was this taken out of the US version? I was planning to buy the US one, but not anymore!

One sale lost! Please fwd to the marketing guy at NHI who thought this was a good idea. TEH BACKFIRE!

That made no sense to me as well. Were they purposely trying to stiffle the NA market? It could have been incredibly easy for them to leave it in. I may have to import it now.

Does the Japanese version have English options? Can you play against a person with the US version using your JPN version?

I am pretty sure you could just use the single card multiplayer on the Jap version, and not even have to worry about the other person having the game or not.

What the hell is with the simultaneous good news/bad news coming out of Namco today?

Here's Mr. Driller on DS...but no one-cart multiplay unless you get the Japanese version.

Oh, and we're bringing over another Mr. Driller for Game Boy Advance, but uh, it's the same one Japan has had since GBA launch.

Seriously, with the way DS development was rushed to make launches, isn't it possible this was implemented within the extra 10 days or so the Japanese launch allowed?

Maybe Namco shipped us an unfinished copy...I don't know. I suggest bombing Namco with complaints and maybe they'll do a recall...

Sure is! I'm not joking -- I was going to buy the US version when I go home in December (you know, to support the franchise and all), but not anymore. If I get any version now, it'll be the Japanese one.
