The same game with a more playable framerate and cleaned up graphics so it doesn't look like ass on big tvs. Junior members = losers.

GamerDad said:I've preferred the PC version for each of them just because of mouse aiming. I'm even pretty good at driving with the mouse - though I agree the gamepad is better. Anyway, the game looks great, can't wait to play it - sorry if it's been mentioned. Is there a ship date for the PC?
Mrbob said:I have a Logitech Rumblepad I bought for some of my PC games and it works fantastic. I think I'm going to grab the PC version now. Grab Vice City in the meantime to try out the mods.
Ninja Scooter said:in all honesty, i never once noticed a frame rate problem in GTA San Andreas on ps2. I guess if hte game is fun and engrossing enough that kind of stuff doesn't bother me.
COCKLES said:Well It's like pumping away on the pussy of Joan Rivers. Once your in your rythem you probably don't care...after all a pussy is a pussy, but it's nice to open your eyes ocasionally and see a Christina or a Monica rather then dear old Joan.
Ninja Scooter said:no, it actually isn't anything like that at all.
and frankly, you should be banned for using the phrase "pumping away on the pussy of Joan Rivers."
Asskicker064 said:I thought K-Dust was pretty kick ass. Tom Petty and Grand Funk Railroad are all sorts of awesome, as is Eddie Money. I was surprised that it had Heart, since that doesn't fit with most of the GTA demograph. Then again, most classic rock doesn't.

You do know that the pic he's referring to is a PC pic right? Soo... PS2 > PC you heard it here first!belgurdo said:So? If it bothers you that much just stick with the clunky PS2 version or get the PC version and wait for mods
Haters suck... If it were the exact same game I doubt anyone here would be as excited as they are. People want to play a superior version of a game!? No shit!?It's the same game. Graphics whores = losers.
Alex said:I'm nabbing this for certain. The boosted models, textures, framerate and custom soundtrack made the double pack a real treat. I do have to say that I don't find the controls on the Xbox to be quite as solid as on the PS2 though.
Cerrius said:They better have fixed the ped glitch.
That glitch was annoying as hell in the Double Pack, and then after everyone started emailing and calling Take 2 complaining about the glitch, they just kept ignoring us (saying "they were looking into the problem")
Eventually no fixes were found and we were stuck with a lame glitch that killed the atmosphere of the games
I will not buy it if someone reports this glitch in the game, I got burned by it pretty bad when the double pack came out.
raYne said:I'm 98% sure they either fixed the glitch in later presses or it wasn't in all copies. I had it in mine and while it was a major annoyance, after a while I wouldn't even notice when the sound would drop out.
However, it never ever happened at all in my cousins copy and what's even weirder was that when I played my bugged copy on his Xbox it wouldn't let me load his save file at all. It acted as if Vice City was never played/saved on his Xbox and when I started and saved a new file there were two totally seperate Vice saves. No, not two saves under Vice City at the main memory menu... Two seperate Vice Cities like it was a completely different game.
Cerrius said:Hmmm interesting, I never ever found someone that DIDN'T have the glitch. I only found people who thought they didn't have the glitch but what really happened was that the sound would drop out an hour or so into gameplay instead of the first 5-10 minutes (hence them not noticing it). From reading your post though, it could be that Rockstar fixed the glitch after no one cared anymore.
Xbox GTA Double Pack. On some (most?) copies after a few minutes of gameplay the pedestrians would stop talking (random statements and such) and would'nt say a thing for the rest of the time you play. But everything else including other audio was fine. What's the ped glitch, and what games/systems is it on?
Wyzdom said:It's time to post an high-res PS2 pic just to make real comparison. This pic is what you get with component cables + non-shitty TVs. Since i don't have an Xbox i can't judge for Xbox owners but it does not look "8 months better" now. I hope the framerate will make a real difference. There is a couple of places on the PS2 version where it drops around 15 fps. And on a certain mission in Area 69 i had something like 5 to 10 fps for maybe half a minute!.

Wyzdom said:This PS2 pic is just as doctored as the Xbox ones. What else is new?
Pimpbaa said:The xbox ones don't look doctored at all. They look like the GTA double pack does on xbox.
Wyzdom said:nahh, the pics looks better. Anyway this arguing can go on forever and it's pretty much useless.
GTASA Xbox will of course look sharper and cleaner just like the GTA double pack did.
I just don't get all the exitement, people here speak like if it was night and day or something. "night and day" is more the like SNES vs PS2 imo. People are amazed at very small differences...
It also makes me think about the difference between the SNES and Genesis (that was more explicit than Xbox vs PS2 imo) and there was less people talking about that shit and exagerating stuff back then. (maybe it was just internet being less popular too)
raYne said:-Upped polygon count.
-Higher resolution textures.
Wyzdom said:I really doubt they will remodel the graphics, forget about "more polys". Anyone have a confirmation on this one?
As for higher res textures... they look like the same textures but DISPLAYED at higher res. Wich is very different then to put new higher res textures.
Mrbob said:In the preview they explain this. For San Andreas the whole game was built with high res textures and then scaled down for the PS2. Which makes me wonder how long they've been sitting on the Xbox and PC ports.![]()
Wyzdom said:Nice! I'm looking foward to play the game anyway (again)
Musashi: I'm just tempering down the discussion. I end up doing this in most of my post and about almost any subject because MANY people are always completely on the left and completely on the right. Everybody and fanboys from all the sides are always exagerated everything and it's like if nobody wants to see things in a more realistic stand point. Observe the posts on this board thinking about it and you'll see.
A minor innovation is not just called "an innovation" but they use words like "revolution" and such. When the graphic is just "better" they say something like "it's pisses all over" or "it completely destroy". I mean, people don't have any sense of mesuring or something?
If you use strong words to describe how much better will be the graphics in San Andreas, what words would you use to describe the difference between GTASA and the first GTA?
Don't forget that someone already used something strong as "night and day" comparing the 2 GTASA version already LOL
3rdman said:Wow, thats an innovative post! It pisses on all you people and its as clear as night and day who should be running the asylum! All we need now is a grammer cop and GAF is on its way to a real revolution!!!!!
The poly count of the cars in the PC version were doubled, and I assume the Xbox is also using those beefier models. Facial models were also improved for the PC version.Alex said:GTA:SA isn't getting higher poly cars? The Xbox double pack had 'em, with reflections to boot. Looked really nice.
