That is the weakest excuse I have ever heard.
Who said it wasn't?

But let's be honest, state budget constraints have cut costs on a whole lot more important things than making sure a cop knows how to push a button on a speed gun when someone is clearly speeding.:lol

Wow that's a lot of arguing and time spent for someone who knows full well they were speeding. Just pay your damn ticket speeders instead of making excuses and crying "why me".

You get to say this when all speed limits are adequately posted, based on scientific or statistical reasoning and accurately measured.

Try driving through a native American reservation in Arizona to find out what's wrong with the current systems.

WTF?

Perhaps the judges are worried that state budgets will not be able to support their salaries so they want the police to be able to collect fees as easily as possible?

Man . . . things are really going downhill. :-(

I've always wondered...

Can a police officer pull you over for speeding if they themselves are moving in traffic? As in, if you're driving past an officer who's in the middle lane, but you're speeding, can they pull you over?

Are the radar guns jacked into their own car's spedometers so that it can automatically adjust the reading based on their own speed?

I've always assumed that the only surefire way to get you that way would be to tail you and match speed, but even that wouldn't really hold up (unless you live in Ohio).

Anyone know?

Uh, yes? I've seen it happen with my own eyes several times. Cop is in the middle lane or something in front of a semi, someone doesn't see them and speeds past them, and the cop nails them.

The radar detector will still work if they're moving, so if they're going 55 and someone passes them going 70 it'll register 15 on the gun.

Anyway, I hate driving in Ohio, there are cops everywhere, all looking to pull you over for anything.

cops are all over the highways here. Going on a trip, you could go through 3-4 states turnpikes without seeing a trooper, but get to Ohio and you are guaranteed to see a couple.

I was lucky this morning though, came around a curve on 480 and a cop had me dead to rights going 75 in a 60, but he didn't bother. A lot of times I think they do it for show. Most of the time after I drive by I look in and they're talking on there cell phone :lol

Yes. Never ever pass a cop.
