So I am burning my mp3 collection on 8x dvd rs using a sony dru700 burner on nero 6. Some dvds burn fine, but then some, @ a particular percent through the burn eat up the read buffer and the burning just stops. I have to restard the comp to get access to my dvd drive after this happens. Any ideas? Could it be that my HDD can't feed the dvd fast enough @ 8x?

It could be crappy media
Your hard drive/pc isnt fast enough
Some of the files are corrupt

I would start by identifying your media code to check if its decent quality. Use DVD Identifier to see what kind of media it actually is.
