Well, lack of sleep and stress can lower the threshold of seizures as well as not consistently taking you medications or sickness in general. Yes, mood swings and altered conciousness can occur during or after an episode. Hopefully this is nothing to serious.

Damn man. But hey, we're all here for you.

I don't really know what to tell you...eh that's how I always start these posts. I don't know how to help you. I don't know much about epilepsy either...

Um.

Sorry...I just feel [bad] for you. Type it out, as I've done zillions of times on GAF. What's your sister like? How old is she? What's she in to? What do you like most about her?

I don't know, just type out anything you want. It'll, just take a lot off your chest, and we're always here to listen.

Man i'm so sorry to hear this. Honestly its the worst thing to see someone go through. Cause when they come too they know what happened. At least you hope they do. Cause when they dont thats when i worry. My mother was epilleptic for a short period till she got better. But honestly i dont think she has ever truely recovered cause i think her meds just mask it now. She just passes out in her sleep which is dangerous but they put her into a state where it wouldnt matter.

The best thing you could do is not worry so much and take it easy on her. Be her friend not her enemy man. I know sometimes as family members we want the best for them. But sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches and be there for them. I hope everything works out for you and your sister man. I know how hard it can be on a family. Just dont let it tear yours apart.

Scary, scary thing. I really hope your sister gets better. Maybe she just needs different medications, or to take more care that she's taking them consistently and properly.

I've only seen an epileptic person once in my entire life. It was some woman who was walking in front of me in the store, and the next moment she just dropped on the floor and started twiching. One of the scariest things I've ever seen, honestly.

Wow...sorry to hear that. I hope she recovers soon.

My hope would be that her medications are no longer adjusted quite right, given her age -- people grow and change a lot during their teenage years. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

My heart goes out to your sister, you, and your family. I hope she recovers soon and everything gets straightened out.

Good luck.

Good luck man, hope there's a happy ending, and I'm sure you'll all pull together to get through it well. Best of luck man.

Sorry man, but find out about this suicide stuff. There could be a mix up of her just saying "This is so much work I want to kill myself." And not really meaning it, but you know how rumors go and how big they get. By now it is probably to the point that she had grenades in her back pack and was going to blow the school up.

An old family friend's 14 year old just recently killed herself. She left a note saying that she felt nobody loved her and nobody paid any attention to her and that she was fat and ugly and had no friends.

I just wish somebody could have done something before it got to that.

Whenever suicide is brought up either in passing or joking, please please please take some time and really talk to the person. 10 minutes of talking can really change a person's view.

Well my parents want her to see a psychiatrist anyway (whether or not she actually said something about suicide). My sister always internalizes EVERYTHING and never tells anyone her feelings which is obviously very bad.

Where are you from? This sounds dangerously close to where I grew up.

In the Covina/Pomona/Azusa area.
