"LONDON - Director Oliver Stone said he was surprised by the critical reaction to his historical epic "Alexander" — and put the blame on the fundamentalist morality in some parts of the United States."

Poor repsonse to Alexander

I guess Stone didn't realize people hated the movie because it sucked big balls did he?

Normally I'd support stone... except that this time he can't blame it on morality.... as you said... umm the movie blew chunks.

"What? I can't possibly direct a bad movie. It must be the work of those <dum de dummmm> damn Americans! First they cause the tsunami, now this!"

I can imagine how he must feel having his first 'epic' be torn to shreds like this, but I don't think the blame is entirely on him. I'm a fan of his work, and look forward to seeing it despite the fact that I'm not a fan of Farrel's work.

Shit, Ebert claimed that the movie wasn't gay enough. As far as I can tell, Stone really tried to downplay that part of the character and I certainly haven't heard any backlash from fundies.

Did any of you even see it?

Oh I saw it. I had free movie passes to see the "sneak preview" a few days before it was in wide release. Let me tell you it sucked. It sucked bad. I mean REALLY bad. I'm actually an Oliver Stone fan and I generally liked all his other movies.

I saw it as well, and had the reverse opinion... I dug it and thought they only questionable part in it was by Angelina Jolie. I didn't completely understand her character. I thought the movie was pretty good and will buy when it hits DVD. I guess I go against the norm of the opinion though because I liked Troy and King Arthur as well.

I dunno, he may be right... refusing pay to support bad movies could be considered by many a moral decision.

People didnt like the trisexual parts of the movie i guess :lol :lol :lol

Trisexual? Does that include self-love or something? Wouldn't that technically be gay and allow him to fall under 'bisexual'...gasp...and wouldn't that mean 99% of the male population is...no...no, I'm being foolish.
