One Battle After Another | Official Trailer | Leonardo DiCaprio | Benicio Del Toro

I looooove the way PTA uses background music in he's films.

Also that last scene at the end 'thank you sensei thank you! Goddamn it, viva la revolucion!!' :messenger_tears_of_joy:

DiCaprio has become one of my favorite actors over the years. I don't know if he's a method actor or not, but he really nails the personas he's asked to play.

looks decent enough, the only thing is the pregnant strong woman of colour shooting guns and shouting "Daaayuuuum" or whatever she says ... Like oof, very 2020s type writing, I hope that's not indicative of the entire tone of all the "Wacky revolutionists".

but leo can act and so can many others on that list so I'm curious to see more

He did incredibly well even very early on in What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

"Freedom is no fear, just like Tom Cruise" :messenger_grinning_sweat:

The first shot is of an ICE detention center, and within minutes, members of a rogue resistance group known as "French 75" storm it, freeing over 200 detainees. From there, the film sprints into madness.

So we are on to the cringe antifa revolutionary larper worship movies, looks like cringe shit.

Oh, you don't like making fun of those types of pronouns?

Deferential dad saying without a hint of humor, "I just want to be polite" sounds like the furthest thing from taking the piss out of that nonsense.

No, it's pretty obviously not making fun.

Sure felt like it was. Clueless dad not up to date on whatever the latest dumb teen thing is.

Leo is absolutely one of, if not Hollywood's best leading man.

Still boggles my mind how many years it took for him to win an Oscar. Especially so when you look at some of the useless wankers that have won many during the same era as him.

I do wish we had more films with him and Nicholson sharing screen time. Those two can create some fucking magic together.

Its ok bro, nuance is not for everyone. Not every movie can be a safe space like daily caller productions ಥ╭╮ಥ

Seeing a lot of hype for this after it was screened

Got my ticket booked today, can't wait.

I'm looking forward to this one.

The first trailer I saw had an odd energy and vibe to me. It left me unenthused. The second trailer I saw was persuasive - it seemed to convey the actual tone of the film, looked interesting and energetic, and had that PTA energy. Now these early critical reactions are icing on the cake.

It's going to be a heavy month for crime dramas for me this month, given my recent Criterion pick-ups, Caught Stealing which I'll be seeing this weekend, then this later in the month.
