No reason to get Hitler, no matter how much I hate him, because WWII allowed for the advancement of medicine and technology.

These advancements would have happened anyway. The number of people killed because of his reign is ridiculous. Hitler, without a question.

they call me "Man Gravy".
As a result of Ghengis Khan's two invasions 40 million people died in China alone. And his empire really had no long-lasting effects on society (besides maybe facilitating the travels of Marco Polo and pushing Europe towards imperialism in the far east). I'd say it's a pretty easy answer from my perspective.

Edit: Didn't realize I hit the "quote" button instead of the "reply" button. Whoops.

You would have to kill Hitler pretty early in his life to stop what happened. What he set in motion could have happened anyways if he was was killed in the mid-30's. Then you risk making the guy a martyr and making the situation even worse than it was. Who knows, but it's fun to speculate.

I don't think America would have enjoyed the outrageous amount of prosperity in the 50's or 60's without WWII.

I almost want to off JC himself. But he isn't the one (directly) responsible for Christianity becoming such a cruel religion for centuries to come.

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
You guys should probably go after Paul/Saul rather than Jesus. Though the whole concept is so incredibly offensive to people that...you should probably save your ammo.

Uwe Boll - he must be stopped.

Why? His movies have brought pain and suffering to millions of people around the world.

Stalin killed more people than Hitler. Poor Stalin, Hitler always getting all the fame... Anyway, silly question, killing one leader doesn't kill a movement. Although poppin' Hitler or Stalin probably would helped a great deal. Ís it wrong if I say Bush Sr.? One hit, double bonus!

Ed: any big reli hobo is a good idea too :)

i would kill Flavius Valerius Constantinus

Constantine can rightfully claim the title of Great, for he turned the history of the world into a new course and made Christianity, which until then had suffered bloody persecution, the religion of the State

he has to go!!!

Uhhh isn't killing Jesus what started the whole Christinaty thing. Probably killing Pontius Pilate would have the effect that one is looking for.

I don't think there is an easy answer. Anyone who's death would actually make a significant difference would change the whole ball game! Kill a Hitler or Ghengis Khan, and you end up with a drastically different world history populated by largely people who don't even exist now. On the other hand if you pick someone from the present... well, no time machine needed.

I guess I'd save my ticket for, say, some sort of James Bond villain success. Just need to hop back a couple days.

But, if not Pontius Pilate, then it would be some other Roman leader. So, killing JC while he is some unknown carpenter would have a greater effect.

For most of these world reknowned figures, you would have to get them VERY young. Skynet had the right idea when they went after our (future) savior John Connor.

Actually, I don't really believe in that shit...I just can't think of another way to completely eradicate humanity.

i'd kill lee harvey oswald. jfk would have stopped vietnam and America wouldn't have become run by military industries using war to stimulate profits.

people might have liked us a lot better, too.

I would probably kill the man who murdered Francis Ferdinand. This would (ideally) stop the ball from getting started on WW1. In turn, WWI would not have led to the harsh(entirely justified, but still harsh) penalizing of nations including germany. Germany desired revenge after WWI, but had WWI never happened, then I don't think hitler would have come to power. This, I would hope, would prevent world war 2.

Would it actually pan out that way? Who knows, but that's the reasoning behind why I would do that.

sweet jesus dont kill hitler, cause that would mean that i would not exist, i just asked my dad this question and he explained to me:

my fathers grandfather served for the Nazis, and during the war he fell in love with a woman he met at a military base in hamburg. my dads grand father lived in munich so there where no chance in hell that they would have met otherwise.

they had children, my fathers dad, and then when he grew up he had sexual intercourse with his wife and they concieved a child who is my father.

so if hitler died and there would be no WWII then i would not be here posting this awsome post about my roots with the nazis" wich i am not proud of"

but they didnt have any change but to serve the military, so they where forced to

Very good question. Playing with history like this is risky to say the least. My first thought is to think of the dictators and warlords but who kinows what would have happened without them. Would Europe be so peaceful and prosperous without the World wars?

I decided I would kill Jesus as soon as he was born, square in the head. That would have been a truely great sacrifice for human kind because it turned out we couldn't handle the whole son of god idea very well.

what a dream it would be fellas

I'd probably shoot Lenin because his actions (mostly through his successors) caused the deaths and suffering of millions of people and discredited socialism leading to the reborn evil of monopoly capitalism.

G.W.s grandfather (before he had kids) would be a good start. LOL. It's too early to see the historical signficance however.

You'd change more history by offing someone like Thomas Edison actually or an inventor/genius.

While there are probably a lot of people throughout history who have changed the world more than Rove has, it is tempting, isn't it. :) He's probably the most influential evil man in the country.

Well, keep in mind that at the time it was roughly 1/3 of the population of China. Are you saying we need another Mongolian invasion now?
