I don't get that.
Bioshock Infinite isn't some standard military corridor fps. It might be linear in some regards, but it's quite ambitious in what the game is doing (the choices mechanic, the sky lines, elizabeth ai, the general creation of the enviorment), and it's world Levine and Co. are trying to create in that of Columbia.
So, I mean, honestly, it's no surprise there's been a few snags along the way.
An a cut mp mode is probably for the best. I'd rather the core development team focus all there time and energy making the most polished and the most memorable narrative and just general "game" experience of this gen, rather than trying to split the dev team and make some half assed shoe horned mp just in order to appeal to the publisher, and to the dude bro fans so they won't trade there games the minute they finish the main narrative (if they even bother to do so). So, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest in that we could have possibly received a BETTER product without the mp, than a Bioshock Infinite with mp.
So, honestly, as long as Ken Levine is still the captain of the ship I'm not concerned. He's the engine, the beating heart of Bioshock Infinite. He wrote the script, he wrote the combat scenarios, he came up with the core concept of Columbia, the design, the look, the feel, the atmosphere, and most importantly, and this is what's going to either make or break Bioshock Infinite, the narrative.
Obviously it's not just a 1 man band, but without Mr. Levine at the helm, there is no Bioshock Infinite.
