One month from today: BioShock Infinite

You can sell dota items. You think those tf2 items will sell for $10?

The six (I think?) TF2 items from pre-ordering Deus Ex 3 sold for about $15 when they were first tradeable. So, I'd say from $10-$15.

You have to sell them fast though, and I don't there is anything as cool as the Deus Specs for the Bioshock items.

I'd say that's pretty close to the mark. 5-6 million is perfectly decent for a game like this.

I can feel the hype in the air for this game, which is a damn good thing.

Here in Australia there are big posters up at most gaming stores, and the game has been getting quite a bit of positive attention. I think it will handily outsell games from "bigger" franchises like GoW launching soon (take your pick which one!)

If this game underperforms and Irrational are forced to stick to "safe" games or comply with the standard 2-3 year production cycle it will break my heart. Well, if the game is shit it will break my heart even more, but it sucks seeing an awesome game flopping. This is paritcularly true in this day and age where one underperforming game can kill a studio.

I hope we get some comparisons between PS3 and 360 versions before release I really ain't biased to either whatever runs better or looks better I will get. If not then I have no idea what version to get I still have PS3 preordered.

Selling some dota 2 items and pre ordering this when xcom get's closer. $10-15 off with tf2 makes it an easy decision. Hopefully the value of dota gear doesn't skyrocket after the beta, $50 per pudge hook almost seems unsustainable now though.

Best foot forward would be PC.

I want XCom for free on Steam. More people need to pre-order nownow

That "If X number of people pre-order then you get Y" promo thing can be annoying. Don't try and turn your customers into salesmen.

But then again. . . . buy the damn game cuz I want my TF2 items.

It is especially annoying since you have no idea what the number of orders they have to reach. But has any game ever not unlocked all the pre-order bonuses?

Haven't really seen much material for this, I think just the stuff from E3 2012 and another trailer.

I guess it has a day 1 review embargo? Still a little wary after hearing the game was sort of in development hell.

Premium Edition looks nice, might get that instead of on Steam.

Aside from Ascension, what else is launching in the same timeframe that could possibly eat into Infinite's sales?

Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

lol

No game has ever missed an unlock on Steam.

If you think about the business model, it would be in Valve's and the publisher's best interest for a pre order unlock to never fail. Even if there aren't enough pre orders it is assumed that Valve just unlocks the content anyways.

Where the hell is this "development hell" comments coming from?

It was delayed, what, twice? Where's all these "Red Flags", shit is in development hell popping up from?

Especially, when the footage look quite polished, and the key players are still all in the game.

So I just bought it on Steam put it isn't showing up in my list, only the first Bioshock. Is it like this for everyone now?

XYBER DEATH?

Newest beta, some better menus.

Try restarting the client, and while you wait for Steam to load, see if you received an e-mail confirming the purchase. It should definitely be listed.

I have restarted Steam and I got the mail, that's why I was wondering if it was like this for anyone else. Oh well, I'll just give it some time and contact support if nothing changes.

Also, your screenshot reminded me that I have to get that theme again.

I don't get that.

Bioshock Infinite isn't some standard military corridor fps. It might be linear in some regards, but it's quite ambitious in what the game is doing (the choices mechanic, the sky lines, elizabeth ai, the general creation of the enviorment), and it's world Levine and Co. are trying to create in that of Columbia.

So, I mean, honestly, it's no surprise there's been a few snags along the way.

An a cut mp mode is probably for the best. I'd rather the core development team focus all there time and energy making the most polished and the most memorable narrative and just general "game" experience of this gen, rather than trying to split the dev team and make some half assed shoe horned mp just in order to appeal to the publisher, and to the dude bro fans so they won't trade there games the minute they finish the main narrative (if they even bother to do so). So, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest in that we could have possibly received a BETTER product without the mp, than a Bioshock Infinite with mp.

So, honestly, as long as Ken Levine is still the captain of the ship I'm not concerned. He's the engine, the beating heart of Bioshock Infinite. He wrote the script, he wrote the combat scenarios, he came up with the core concept of Columbia, the design, the look, the feel, the atmosphere, and most importantly, and this is what's going to either make or break Bioshock Infinite, the narrative.

Obviously it's not just a 1 man band, but without Mr. Levine at the helm, there is no Bioshock Infinite.

I think you people are missing the important thing here...

Cyndi Lauper
could open the door to a whole assortment of
Pop stars
being in the game...

Considering how stealthily it was put in, I'd be so glad to hear other songs in the background during relevant scenes!

Aren't the Beach Boy's-God only Know's, and Tears For Fears-Everybody Wants to Rule the World, already in the game as well?

From what I gather, time travel is a big aspect of this game, so I imagine there will be a pelthora of familiar tunes played throughout the game.
