One more PDZ screen and one GoW screen.

I think that Gears of War screen is from the very first showing of the Unreal 3 Engine, but yeah, the disparity between the two is amazing.

I keep thinking that, but then I am reminded that the game supports 64 players online at once. I'm holding back a certain amount of judgement until I can see that in action.
 
Wasn't PD0 supposed to go for the animated look? There's probably things we're missing in these crappy stills. However, I'm not so sure it'll look impressive in any form.

Yes the GOW shot is from the UE3 Demo, I think I first seen it in a video that leaked out when they were showing the UE3 engine behind closed doors.


Oh and that PD0... ouch

WTF... why is it that some PD0 images look like utter crap (when compared to other X360 games like Ghost Recon 3, PGR3, etc.) while others look great?

In all fairness to PD0 I think 1UP got a batch of seriously dated screenshots that either make use of placeholder assets as the game was then early in development or are running on an entirely different system altogether (i.e. Xbox1). Obviously Rare and Microsoft deserve no sympathy for being so 'effin stupid in releasing such screens but I'm pretty confident that based upon Rare's history of proficiency when it comes to pushing console hardware and that with the release of other vastly improved PD0 screenshots that contradict the 1UP ones, we'll see an entirely different looking game at E3. Feel free to hold me to this come E3 next week.

The crap ones all come from a set that 1Up/EGM got. The not-so-crap ones come from a set that a bunch of French sites got.

I'm not sure if it's funny or sad to see some people in this forums posting $hit in every x360 thread only to diss the system basing their hate blabla on screenshots taken from alpha development kits.

If those heroes used their head and just looked at what Rareware delivered the last couple of years, they should be able to see (of course if they aren't too blinded by their hate) that all of the games released looked outstanding. Why shoud PD0 break this rule?

Sometimes I ask myself if you guys have too much time by your hands.
 
Some of you actually expect PD0 to look better at E3 than what we see from images that were released two days ago?

Well, that IS the problem. They showed a game that looks like utter trash in comparison with, say GoW. I was expecting at the very least, a good looking next generation game, but what was shown was ridiculously underwhelming. Halo 2 looks better.

Couldn't have said it better myself... look, this is Rare, and the best thing they are known for, aisde from continously delaying games, is producing games with stunning graphics. To see a game like Perfect Dark Zero for the next-generation Xbox looking like a last-generation Xbox game confuses me in the sense that this is Rare, not some unknown company.

The question is: were the screens supposed to be published? Why don't ign or gamespot have these screens on their site?

Because EGM/1up had the exclusive PD0 cover story.

EGM went to RARE for the EXCLUSIVE STORY on the game. They are OFFICIAL SCREENS no one else has now because of the story being exclusive. There's no conspiracy here.

No, not at all! I was only thinking why Rare would release such ugly screenshots. I forgot about their exclusive deal with egm.

I thought it was something like the DOA4 screens released a few days ago, sorry for that.

No, I've played it. I think it looks nice, but it's hardly the hardware-pushing graphics Rare is known for. It's just not.

And I'm not hating on Rare. Something is definitely up with the different quality screens we're getting and the huge variety of Joanna models that have been released. I would love for Perfect Dark Zero to kick ass visually, and hopefully it will. After all, Conker looks superb and Kameo ain't half bad either.

I'm just saying, not every game they've released has done amazing things with the respective hardware.

I can't help but think that they're gauging reactions to the various Joanna models so they can pick one...

This game is just so fucked up from what we've seen, but I'm still hoping for an E3 miracle...

Leaked European screens = single-player.

It appears the single-player screens look MUCH better. Guess that's what happens when you get 64 players running around onscreen at once.

Much like Conker:L+R looks substantially better in single player then multiplayer.

I only see 2 players (characters) on screenshot though.
 
Now if NNN can render 1000 characters and look great why are you excusing the terrible graphical quality of PD0?
