I just can't accept it.
tri_willy said:my explanation is that since the storyline progressed, nami matured physically but yea, the bust is quite exagerrated if you make the comparisons.
damn another week til the anime resumes its canon plot

SecretBonusPoint said:Obviously manga readers have known about 405's events for a long time, but it's what finally cemented Oda as the best manga writer to have ever graced Shounen Jump by far.
Unlike all the other "popular character" driven shounen's, Oda actually dared to split Luffy off from every single member of the main cast and still has for over a year, because the story demanded it. And thats the difference. One Piece actually is a story, it has events that link in to previous ones and there is an ultmate goal. All the other manga just feel like randomly stitched together fights with the explanation for the conflicts often a complete afterthought.
I wish Japan would somehow revolutionise it's anime production and switch to seasons instead of weekly episodes. When its firing on all cylinders (like the last 2 eps) the OP anime is utterly fantastic, but when it drags and its the bottom tier animation it's just not even worth watching.

"WHAAAAT? Toei phoned in this episode's animation!?" ::feigns shock::
Hopefully they'll put more effort in when SHE appears. On that note, it seems that SHE is being voiced by Sailor Moon.

I popped in my funi season 1 One Piece boxset in today, and watched the first four eps of One Piece and I was being weirded out CONSTANTLY.
Am I the only one, when reading One Piece manga, or comics in general, I pull all the images together in my mind, and animate the pages with visually, inside my head? So I'll see, like say, 5 panels, and I'll animate it inside my head.
It's something I have learned to do, especially since it's a part of my job as an animator.
But anyways, the animated visions that have been framed into my head after reading One Piece manga so much (especially volume 1) where the Luffy flashback takes place were WAY better than what you see in the anime, and I was expecting each scene to look just like the way I pictured it in my head. I saw this shit years ago, but for some reason I was expecting it to look totally different.
Like, you know the part where Shanks' first mate, in the manga, grabs the end of his gun, and then whacks those bandits, and it switches over to him aiming his gun at the bandit leader and finally, lighting his cigarette? I was watching this part and I was expecting it to look how it did in the manga, but instead it was awful.
For reference, this is the scene I'm talking about, followed by the next page:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/1/35/
Here's how the anime does it:

Am I the only person who does this when reading comics?
Either way, watching One Piece anime, or at least EARLY One Piece episodes after reading the manga for so long, clearly exposes the manga's superiority. In the manga's first chapter you have so much humor and crap going on: Luffy stabbing himself in the cheek which gives him the scar on his face, "If you guys want him to go one of you's gonna have to stay behinid!" "Sorry laddy! You've been beached!", and more which is completely absent in the anime's rendition.
Thanks for that. Good question, Relix. PEACE.Trevelyon said:Two, four, six and nine are musts. Seven if you want a heap of ridiculous fat titty fan-service with a reasonably tolerable plot and decent animation.
Dead End Adventure (4) and Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Sakura (9) are both good movies for fans of One Piece.Relix said:Quick question...
I caught up to the anime (410 right?).
I want to watch some of the movies, which ones are the best? Just want to see the best =P
Oh shit.grandjedi6 said:Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (6) is the only true "must watch" of the One Piece films. Its even good enough to entertain people who aren't even One Piece fans. Not only does the film have its own unique art style that fits and is well animated, but the story actually beat the manga to the punch. Of course this is entirely due to the talented director, Mamoru Hosoda (of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" fame).

Ah, forgot about that. That was amazing as well, just the entire atmosphere helped it so much. Luffys punches are the bestf@luS said:bellamy's
That's just a rumor as nothing has been confirmed, but it is a good idea.TheOneGuy said:I think someone else said earlier in the thread that Other Straw Hats' adventures would be detailed more in the anime, filler-style?
Himuro said:Am I the only person who still hasn't gotten used to Sunny? I just can't. I still see Merry as the strawhats ship, and I hate the overall design of Sunny. While Merry's goat face was cute, Sunny just looks kiddy. I also hate the lion paw anchor.

LOZLINK said:So guys, which punch had more impact to you. The panther one or the royals one at the auction
If I had to pick one, I'd take the auction house blast on Chalros. It's the most important punch in the manga, and the anime did it even more justice than it did the Bellamy KO.LOZLINK said:So guys, which punch had more impact to you. The panther one or the royals one at the auction
nah, Moria is a freak, totally suits himHimuro said:God, Moria's voice in the anime is awful. I always gave him a deep voice when reading the manga since he's a fucking goth, but he has like..the most squeaky voice in the show next to Chopper.
