Opinions on Killer 7

Here's a taste of what Capcom has planned (I'm sure this has already been posted).

But what's your opinion of the game? Does it have potential? Who's excited.

I know it's back on top of my most anticipated titles list, and I think Capcom really has some great plot development (from the bits of what we see). Looks really sharp and it will only strengthen what appears to be a good 2005 for Nintendo.

It's a game (it is a game, right?) that has some things in it that might be neat. Or they might not be neat at all. But I'm not really sure. But I do think it has some things in it, regardless of their neatness. I do have to admit that even that's unconfirmed, though.

I'm still excited, I have faith on the project because I simply love the graphics and I would like it to be a nice game.

But it's not a blind faith, and as I'm certain the game will be released at this point, I have serious suspects that it won't be very good as game itself.

i can confirm that several things are neat, while others aren't. that's what i like about this game. i can possibly see myself getting excited about it!

More gameplay.
you should look elsewhere then.

if you don't already know what to expect from this game, and based on all the lurking i've done (meaning all the posts of yours that i've read), you're setting yourself up for disapointment 2004.....actually make that disapointment 2k4. that's how tough it is ; )

How tough Killer 7 is, or how tough Snatcher/Policenauts are..?

Wha?

Looks great. I've no idea how you're supposed to play this game, or if there's any gameplay at all, but i'm getting a Dragon's Lair vibe from this game. Like you can only make a few descisions here and there and shot a few people here and there to progress the story. I still want it!

The game will be released.
However, it will be shit.
This from decent sources at Nintendo.
Everyone we have spoken to about K7 just rolls their eyes, even Capcom employees. It's like an open secret that right now, it's unreleasably* bad.

*Is unreleasably a word?

How can they fuck up a rail shooter?

If so, why does Capcom release it ? Another bomb ?

I still want it (on GC), the style is simply refreshing.

It's a stylistic triumph.
Just plays like a dog apparently.
There must be someone else on these boards hearing something along these lines.

I'm less interested the more I hear. I was most interested when there was extremely brief graphical media. The little bit more that has come out makes it seem like it has less of a chance to be a good game. I expect it will look cool, have a nonsensical story (however important that is), play simplistic and short and be pretty forgettable. Capcom does that sometimes.

It's not a rail shooter though. It's a hybrid of an interactive movie with "pick the path" points, and first-person mode "move the cursor" shooting.

Note, this is a Grasshopper game, from the people that made Michigan and Bounty Hunter Sarah. Did anyone actually think it would make a good GAME? :lol

I hope it is not, if everyone said the above before I pay for my copy I will withdraw the idea of buying it.

Heh ! I had indeed bought Dragon's Lair 3D on X-BOX, but just because of its 1080i output, I have never played the damn game.

I bought the GC version of DL3D like 6 months ago for $5. I just beat it last weekend. Its actually pretty decent. It starts off slow but it gets better as it goes on.

How does DL play on GC/XBOX? Last time i actually played a Dragon's Lair game was on AMIGA, where it was basically an interactive movie and once in a while you could press up or down and so on.

What the hell is Killer 7? I've only seen the screens, and they're pretty ugly.
Remember when Capcom said that it was going to release five GCN-exclusive games (only one of which is exclusive -- PN03)? Killer 7 was one of those titles. It's been in development for a long time, no one really knows much about it.

Are you sure about this? If this is true, it's upsetting.

Same could be said for Resident Evil, although it was little more than a graphically-embellished Alone in the Dark.

K7 will be released, it'll score 7s and 8s with reviewers detailing the rise and fall of it's nethype, it still won't be for everyone, and life will go on.

They didn't do Bounty Hunter Sara. They did do the Shining Soul games and Flower Sun & Rain (a decent adventure game, just uglier than K7).

Aw not that it matters. everybody's pre-hated it already.

I think it has the potential to:

a) be really amazing
b) be very corny
c) spawn a series of cartoons at PA ala Twisp & Catsby

In any case, I hope there's a lot more action that make-a-decision-now-and-than. Stylized action is a lot more fun than a stylized storyline.
