Edit: OPM does get bonus credit for posting the first DQ8 US screen I've ever seen. No spread on the new menu layout, but at least the font looks clean.

Legend of Dragoon was almost unplayble when playing on the map...it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow
 
Did they come up with the list in 2 minutes or something? Not having Crono Cross in the list is absolutely disgusting
 
I love legend of dragoon... more than any other other RPG on there, I dont plan to buy a ps3 yet (just 360 from what I seen now) but I would buy a PS3 for Legend of dragoon 2.
 
i tried to play legend of dragoon, but it wouldn't play because it had that cd protection thing that detected modchips. i guess i was blessed

and i liked chrono cross too. surprised it isn't up there just becuase it's a sequel to one of the best SNES rpgs. i mean shit, xenosaga is up there
 
No Valkyrie, Vagrant Story, Shadow Hearts, Suikoden, Alundra (if Dark Cloud and Norrath qualify, so does this)...but thank goodness we got Dragoon, .hack and Monster Rancher 3 in there! :lol

It's such a bad list that putting Star Ocean 2 AND 3 on there isn't even eyeraising.

Well, they didn't release Chrono Trigger here either so its not much of a surprise. Square is perhaps the biggest offender of dry humping european consumers at the moment, and often giving incrediblly bad excuses for soing so.
 
I'm somewhat partial to the Star Ocean games myself, but they certainly have some flaws and putting two of them on the list with some of the omissions noted is questionable.

Just not nearly as bad as some of the other stuff on there. Dear lord, I just noticed Arc 4 made it too. This probably makes me sound like a snob, but I don't care...it's a laughably bad list.

WTF for:
- Phantom Brave...but no Disgaea
- .hack series, who would include that?
- Xenosaga. I actually liked the first game, but even I wouldn't put it on my list
- I'll leave FFX-2 alone because of the job system, and only because of the job system
- Where the fuck is the Suikoden series?!
- Chrono Cross please!

I actually REALLY liked the battle system of Legend of Dragoon.

Some of the story was interesting too, and the art style was pretty good.

If they just got a better script writer and better composer, it probabaly would be considered a good RPG to me.

EDIT - Oh, and that list sucks.
 
The inclusion of LoD and FFX2 on this list, and the omission of Valkyrie Profile and Chrono Cross from his list make me want to cry...............moving on

I own 34 RPGs for the Playstation 1 console including SRPGs and ARPGs.

Not including those, it's at least 28+

I'm nearing 15+ for PS2 including SRPGs and ARPGs.

The two Baldur's Gate games on PS2 were really good too! They should be on this list.

They've might've excluded that because it was a Saturn game originally. Atleast I hope that's the reason.

The PS2 list is a mess really. Shadow Hearts 2, DDS and Dragon Quarter should be on there somewhere.
 
I wonder if there's a surplus in broken windows when random list time rolls around for game publications.

All with threatening letters attached...'cept that one with a picture of a heart with a smiley face in it saying "Legend of Dragoon rox! ~Love Folken"
 
Would someone who actually played Chrono Cross and enjoyed it tell me why they did? I think the game is garbage.

how in gods name can you leave off Breath of Fire 3? :(

Is Dragon Quarter worth picking up? I'm a huge BoF fan and didn't like what Ive read or seen about the game...
 
Because no Breath of Fire outside of Dragon Quarter is worth touching. It's the absolute epitome of average.

Of course, Folken will try and tell you that IV is awesome, but he's wrong, so just say no when he sends you frilly stationary asking you to slumber parties to play Breath of Fire IV, Legend of Dragoon and Brute Force. >=(
 
Cause while I really liked some of the story, the other half sucked. And the gameplay was zzz.

Plus if I were to list any of them, I would list BOF4. While being not as good as BOF3, it had a lot more "I respect what they're doing" points. The two main character thing was great. They should have just handled it better.
