I was able to use the code to get one game, but when tried using it on the second it said invalid code, so it seems it still works how it was originally intended too, you just can't abuse it.

Got an email for Mirrors Edge and Sims 2 woo. In the UK btw, no idea really how it worked. Kept getting transaction failed with VPN then somehow managed to 'buy' some games without a vpn. BC2 not here though. damn.

Mass Effect is downloading, that one worked right away for some reason. Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect 2 both gave the message about waiting for an email.

Picked up Need for Speed Shift with no problems, using the code in the OP. Spent a fair bit of time trying to decide between that, Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit, but ultimately I was looking for something more sim-like than arcadey.
