Origin Thread of trying to get EA games for free

What's the scoop on this Stormshield DRM? Is it the new TAGES?

And for those curious it also applies to the Steam version of Crysis 2 as well, it just doesn't say it on the store page.

you mean solidshield or is this something new?

i've had shitty experiences with solidshield, its supposed to be a simple activation type drm but my serial key stopped being accepted for no reason

had to wait a while and then it suddenly worked, happened in both need for speed most wanted and assassins creed brotherhood

Great sale in UK Origin, check your storefront, awesome bunch of games for £5.

Don't know if the sale extends to EU or US stores though.
It does to EU. Bunch of games for 4.99EUR including Arkham Asylum & Arkham City, KoA:Reckoning, Mass Effect(s), etc.
Who ho! I'm soooo gonna devalue those IPs. \o/

I would have bitten on Kingdoms of Amalur but I wanted the DLC too and that's not discounted.

Ah well, back to futilely praying at the Steam altar.

I got Amalur with all the DLCs for 4.99EUR.

Forget it. It's never gonna be on sale on Steam - I'm surprised it's still listed on Steam since 38 Studios is defunct.

You mind digging out the link for that? All I see is the main game at 4.99.

I had to make an EA account to play Alice Madness Returns so I decided to start using Origin too since there are games I want there (recently got back to PC gaming). I'm at work at the moment, but browsing the site I'm assuming there isn't anything that works like a wishlist. What's the best way to keep up with sales and deals?

To be honest, I just keep an eye out here on GAF.

Just put origin on autostart. It doesn't use much resources and it will pop up a window with deals once it starts and nothing if there is no deal. Also check GMG blog and Amazon thread at CAG once a week, it is probable that you'll buy more Origin games from them then Origin's market.

Thanks for the suggestions, I somehow forgot about GMG and it's a service I was planning on checking out too.

I take it there is nowhere to get the game this cheap anywhere anymore? Or close to, all I can find is the base game for 199 swedish kronor (23 Euros, yeah, our Origin works like the rest of my country "What? 1 Euro = 1 USD = 10 sek right?") on Origin.

I bought it on Origin for 49 kronor. The same goes for the Game of Thrones RPG. I did this when they had a bunch of games on sale.

Amazon.com usually has the Origin version of Amalur (with DLCs sold separately, but also discounted) for around 12$ altogether.

You'll just have to be a bit patient.

Also Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 are untill march 6th for a low price on Origin.

Dead Space 3 is 34 euro's
Crysis 3 is 38 euro's
Crysis 3 Digital Deluxe is 48 euro's

Nuuvem has a bunch of Origin deals right now (site is legit for anyone not familiar with it):

https://www.nuuvem.com.br/produtos?promo=1

Not posting each separately because I can only see the price in reais and this is useless for most of GAF, but there's Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition at 72% off, Mass Effect 1 and 2 at 75% off and ME 3 at -55%, Dead Space 1 & 2 at -75% each, Crysis at -75%, etc etc. There are Steam-activated games in that list too, so check on the game page what's the case.
