Apples ongoing war against whimsy continues with the retirement of the adorable puff-of-smoke cursor and subsequent animation when removing an item from the Dock.
Very pain free, but it's always best to do a clean install, which takes some time.
What I always do, once a year is a good wipe period.

GAF, I wanna do a clean install and save all my stuff on my mavericks before I upgrade to Yosemite.
How can I go about doing that?

I'm always cleaning out the files on my desktop, because what's the point of this backdrop I can drop things into? How could they be right? What would be improved by removing the desktop?

Bummed that Handoff and Instant Hotspot both won't work on my 2010 MBP. This thing still performs super well with an SSD in it. No incentive to upgrade for years.
I find it useful as a default location to temporarily put things.

By not having one, iOS feels better because photos go into your photos. Documents are where they should be. Apps know where to look for things.
Calls yes, texts will come on Monday with iOS 8.1
That's all really the same behavior as the Downloads folder.
I don't miss it on any of my other devices. Why remove functionality that is useful for some people.

Clicking finder, then looking for the download folder and then clicking the file I want is a lot less intuitive and easy as simply clicking the file that's on the desktop.
I need this!
The beta version ruined my windows partition though BLAH.
