Chlorine, of course, is mostly there to kill/stem the growth of microbes that usually come with creatures flopping about in standing water. Louganis' blood was diluted and sterilized by the chlorine content of the water, or so I'm lead to believe.

Yep...and we laugh our asses off at that.

If she was seriously injured, it'd be different. But she came out of it with nothing more then a botched jump, a bad cut, and a serious dent to her pride. So yeah, the pics of her head hitting that board is funny as fuck. :lol Glad she came out of it as well as she did.

So what's your point? :lol Dark humour is supposed to be fucked up.

This is no different to all the laughter that was generated by the woman caught on a close circuit camera that stepped onto a rug and disappeared into a hole at lightning speed. I doubt she felt right as rain after that fall (hell for all we know she died from that), but everybody laughed and nobody was worrying about how badly hurt she was. This article states specifically the diver didn't suffer serious injury, which gives me even more license to chuckle.

Again, if her melon is split open and her brain leaks out to the bottom of the pool, it's a different story...no one with any semblance of decency would laugh at that.
 
I hope something like this happens to all you losers you laughed, so that we can laugh in turn at you.
