I'm a big fan of Outlaw Golf so I was quite eager to get the sequel. So far, I'm very pleased.
The graphics have been improved on the golfers and the courses. The gameplay is essentially the same with a lot of nifty litttle tweaks.
You can use the left or right thumbstick for the swing.
After your swing an indicator pops up that shows you how much you got into your swing and an arrow that shows if you hit it straight or how much hook or slice you got on it.
After the ball leaves your club, you can hold the A button to have the shot "fast forward" so you can cut down on waiting.
This time the beating tokens can be used for either beatings or golf cart events. Beatings can improve your composure, the golf cart driving sections will give you a perfect shot.
The beatings are also setup slightly differently from Outlaw Golf. In Outlaw Golf, an indicator moved back and forth on a bar and you'd have to press the button when the indicator was over certain spots. As you were doing this, the beating was taking place so it was tough to watch it while you were watching the bar. This time you do the bar thing first and then they show the beating depending on how well you did.
The power bar is a little easier to deal with this time. Before it was cut into 4 segments so you had to kind of figure on the fly where the proper per cent of power was you needed for your shot. This time, they have it clearly marked. That doesn't make it any easier to nail the swing however.
The biggest single player change is the way the tour and range drills are setup. In Outlaw Golf, there were 3 courses with 10 events in each. Every character played the same events. When you beat a range drill event, you'd unlock the next level in that drill.
This time each character(10 of them, 4 of which are unlocked to begin with) has 7 unique events and as you beat them you unlock the other characters and outifts, clubs, and drill events that all the characters can access.
No Live for me so I can't comment on the online play.
If you enjoyed Outlaw Golf, you should like number 2. Plus it's only $20.
